Lets be realistic here....

Is it just me, or have games just become TOO realistic?

This is the feeling I get when I play the BF:BC Beta. The game feels so realistic that it's just not....fun.
EA/Dice have come up with the concept of "Momentum" when it comes to your character. Your body weight acts against you when your trying to turn quickly to save your own ass. Plus they have done away with the Parachutes, which was fairly arcadish but none the less fun and USEFUL! God forbid your in a chopper doomed to go down in a ball of fire, now instead of bailing out your only option is to go down with the bird. Is this really what gamers want in Video Games? If that's the case may I sudgest a new series of games, how about, Adult Hood. Stick your character in a dead end job, support a few kids, deal with a nagging wife. About as realistic as it gets, hours apon hours of gameplay, but in all honesty, would you play it? Maybe this is why the Halo series and COD's of the world have done so well. We all enjoy realism here and there when it comes to our games, but when does it become to much?

"Oh No! Beta!"

So yesterday thanks to a number of members (Tank, Stone) I was able to pick up my key for the BF:BC Beta! Downloaded it lastnight (1.07 gigs...oh my) and fired it up. All in all you dont get much until the servers go live March 25th. Saw the weapons that you get with all the different classes, plus you can see the ones to unlock. There was also all the Medals you can acquire in the game, but unfortunately I could not walkthrough either of the two maps that come with the beta. I would have thought it would have been a good idea to give you the option to check everything out offline, before you go online. Needless to say I am on pins and needles waiting for the 25th to get in on some gold rush action.

Party on Wayne, Party on Digital Extremes!

Well by a stroke of complete luck, and the generosity of a 2o2p member (ATC_1982) I will be joining the team at Digital Extremes to celebrate the launch of Dark Sector! This game has been noted to be like GOW. All in all it looks AWESOME! Festivities are set for April 3rd, and I must say this is a first for me. Being in London Ontario Canada you would rarely see anything like this, unless your in the industry of course. Needless to say I am VERY excited and looking forward to sharing pics and possible conversations that would be worth mentioning with all of you.

T-T-T-Today JUNIOR!!!

Many of you may not know me, some do and may not know me...but as of the end of October I have been unemployed. I was formerly a "roof truss builder", whats that you may ask? The shittiest job I've EVER had! I swung a hammer for 8 hours a day at these shiny metal plates mashing them into lumber, then finished it off with a 2 ton press. But thats not why I'm "venting". I've taken this opportunity to reflect on where the hell my life is going and what direction I want to take. I have come up with a job, that I would enjoy and that I have no doubts will be a heavily needed possition to fill in the future. No I'm not talking about a porn fluffer, I am looking at becoming a Transport Truck Driver. I have done the research (talking to company's/other drivers) and I feel I would enjoy doing this until I'm to old to get up to use the toilet. NOW heres my problem. I have been on Unemployment (welfare for you Americans) since November, and I'm looking for financial support in getting my AZ license and taking a 3 month course for this career. The cost....$6000. Unemployment has said "yes, we will help you, but....." here's where I get the shocker without the decency of a dinner first. "You must take several courses on figuring out what your skills and attributes are. You must do a comprehensive research on the industry and what it will be like years from now. You need to prove to us that this is truly the direction you want to take.....It will be around 3 months before we will let you know if we will provide you with the money."

Three months.....Three more fucking months of welfare.....Let me explain to you all why I think this is borderline retarded. Every two weeks the Canadian Govt. is kind enough to send me $725. Let me open up yee ole Windows Calculator...I get paid twice a month, times 3 months....725 X 6 = 4350. Now lets say they say "yap hurrs yer monies" 4350 + 6000 = $10350. Now Im in my course for 3 months 10350 + 4350 = I have taken $14700 by the time I finally get back to work. So...why the fuck dont they just give me the money THAT I HAVE PAID INTO FOR THE LAST 9 YEARS now, and save the Canadian Govt, and tax payer $4350. They have me seeing a "career counselor" and I told him this equation and he said "hehehe yeah it's retarded, but thats the system" And they wonder why people stay on pogey so long?

My First Blog!

Howdy fellow 2o2p'rs! Well this is my first blog entry here and well....ever! Let me introduce myself. My names Adrian (given...really) I live in Southern Ontario Canada and like most of you, I love to game (as much as my wife hates it) I've decided to use this space to link others to my YouTube submissions....okay I only have one now, but I have many ideas...okay some ideas, so there will be plenty more in the future. Right now (for any of you Video savvy people) I'm using Cyber Link PowerDirector. This has become a hobby for myself and hopefully as I progress (lord help me if I dont) the quality of random/useless crap I turn into video's will get better. Until then, and until I gain more knowledge of this program I'm stuck doing montages of Games/Sports/well anything I can think of putting Music too. So please feel free to give any criticism or feedback, or if you have any ideas that I can use, feel free to let me know.
