Daddy, why do you do drugs?

That was a question asked by my three year old at the dinner table about a month ago, oh yeah, and he practically had tears in his eyes. Talk about a jaw dropper. Ok, so I smoked pot once, but that was 7 years ago and it was one time. And how the hell does my three year old know about this? Well, he doesn't, duh.
My son, got this from his big brother, who got this from our wonderful education system. Apparently the teachers are telling the students, that alcohol and beer are drugs. Well, dad drinks beer occasionaly, so dad does drugs. What a great thing for my kids to think, especially with the employment field I'm trying to enter. I can just see when the background check is done, and the investigator wants to talk to my family. "Yeah, my dad does drugs." I understand and am greatful that they teach about drugs, but for GOD sakes, when you're telling the freakin' 5&6 year olds about drugs and alcohol, you need to freakin' explain to them that beer is ok to drink if you are an adult and it is not done in excess, blah blah blah.
I was so pissed off I almost called the school. What do you think that made my kids think of me when they're teacher said that alcohol is a drug, without explaining it to them? "Holy cow, my dad's a druggie." "My dad is one of those guys that hangs around on the other side of the fence and tries to get little kids to smoke and drink "Jesus Juice". Oh yeah, and if you smoke, you'll stink and have terrible stinky breathe, and your hair will stink. Oh yeah, and guess what smoking is a drug. Guess what else I enjoy doing, I enjoy smoking a cigar every now and then with, guess what, a beer. So that's double bad isn't it. I'm really surprised that the school hasn't sent children's services out to see me.
So, if I ever disapear from the website without mentioning it first, it's cause AlaskaDad is a druggie.

Out of the closet and into the world.

This is something I've been struggling to share for quite some time. My wife, kids, and the rest of the family know, and for the most part, are supportive. My feelings started back when I was a kid, but I figured it was just a kid thing, then in my final year or so of college it blossomed. I figured it was just a phase, as did my wife, God knows she still wishes it was just a phase. It started out as just a little "experimenting" and boredom, or so we thought. Soon things started to get out of hand as I was secretly checking stuff out of the library and ordering stuff online without telling her. Soon our checkbook was getting smaller, and she wasn't getting all of my attention, so she knew something was up. She caught me looking at questionable web sites, but I told her I was just goofing off or had nothing better to do. However, it was out of the bag when she beat me to the mailbox one day. She confronted me when I got home. Of course I denied the allegations, I mean, who wouldn't? Suprisingly, she wasn't too upset. However, she didn't want the kids to know. Oh, they're too young, she said. Don't try to influence them. NO, they're my God damn kids too, and I will tell them. I told them, and what do you know, they still love me. They still think I'm cool. We actually do even more stuff together now because of our talk. Sure they had questions to ask, and don't understand why mom has such an issue with it, but what can you expect, they're 6 & 3. My 8 month old could care less. I just hope my friends on here can be supportive of me in this time.

So I guess the first step to "coming out of the closet" is to vocalize. Well here goes..........I'm a Star Wars fan. That's right, I read the books, I read the comics, I even play the video games, and yes, that includes BOTH of the Lego Star Wars games. No, I don't masturbate to pictures of Princess Leia in her iron bakini, but she still looks damn hot in it. My kids dig Star Wars too. We have lightsaber fights and everything. And no, I never let them win. After all they're only Padawans.

My wife hasn't accepted this, and I don't know if she ever will, but I pray that you guys will accept this, and me for who I truly am.

His first loss...

Well, my oldest boy finally lost his first tooth. He was so freakin' stoked to lose it, but would NOT have it pulled. It was barely hanging on there, and it fell out at dinner tonight when he was eating CORN. Not corn on the cob, canned freakin' corn. I have no idea how that happened, but it did. He was asking all of us to feel his "empty spot". It was pretty funny. Now, in like another week or so, he'll lose the one next to it. Hopefully he won't be so nervous now that he knows it doesn't hurt.
Now, here's a question for you guys. Is it "wrong" for the tooth fairy just to take the money out of his piggy bank? You know, the tooth fairy isn't really made of money . We don't have any cash, but I've got change for parking, so I told my wife, we'll just put the change in his piggy band and take out a dollar bill or two, and I got the look. SO, it looks like he'll be getting a stack of quarters. Of course, as a kid, I think I got more excited over quarters than dollar bills, quarters meant I could play arcade games at the movie theatre....but dollar bills meant more transformers......
I have attached a picture of Andrick right after he lost his tooth, thank God he didn't swallow it, there's no way I woulda fished around in the toilet for that sucker.
