Well, that was a good week of gaming...and with my streak at 85 day....only 15 more days and I'll have a new high streak of 100.....and will then push for a streak of 975....why 975? because that's my prediction on when the next gen system will release and we will see if our gamer scores cross over....I hope they do....
Automan21k's Weekly Recap - Jan 5 2009
Someone ask for a weekly recap? Even if you didn't, here it is: Oh man are my cores just rocking... Automan21k played seven days last week! SEVEN! That is a NUMBER SEVEN followed by NO ZEROS! HOT! Too bad gamerscore isn't money because with an increase of 1125 points we could make some bank. Yay for 54 achievements! w00t!
On another note, I'm still addicted to Banjo Kazooie...I'm even debating trying to get the multiplayer achievements....I normally don't go for those...but I'm confident that all of the vehicles I have built can compete on a global scale....but I also have to play Halo3 MM. Since tomorrow will be my best shot at getting the 7 on 7 vid master achievement.
Is it strange that I have this urge to be evil today? Not your every day kicking puppies evil (not that I do, or would ever promote the kicking of puppies) but a true world domination kind of evil....but honestly, where could I possibly get the money to fund an evil empire? I can't even afford a half decent henchman....not even a mindless goon, I mean once you get past the Evil U n i o n restrictions, meet the Hazzard pay requirements, life insurance, Medical and Dental....not to mention the HAZMAT certifications to even buy/handle the standard toxic waste pools....you're looking at an easy 250,000....and that's just one goon! (don't get me started on the nameless scientists to build your average doomsday machine), now picture having to have atlease 150 or them to give the average Super Agent any sort of challenge....but if you're dealing with a Super Agent you'd need to train a goon Manager of some sort(aka a named goon like Jaws or OddJob) count in extra for any sort of trademark abilities or abnormalities they might have....but I guess you could use almost any of them to count towards Equal Oppertunity requirements, that would help...but in the end, we're talking in the Billions of dollars range just for opperating overhead....and don't get me started with the expenses for assets that will just get blown up every time you get invaded by any government agency...in the end, I'll just need to play some anti-hero game...that should give me my "Evil Fix" for under $60...

1 Comments On the way to work today
What is it about the holidays that has people completely forget how to be human/drive/make good decisions. Its like a switch flips that says “This is a new year, everything you learned last year doesn’t matter anymore.”
Person #1, as we leave the house and drive down to the corner school bus stop there was a girl…maybe 15, wearing ski boots….not those ski boot looking boots, these had bindings on them…and before anyone asks, the local School does have a ski team but they only practice on Saturdays, and they know enough to carry their boots with them…I don’t envy her for the blisters she will have at the end of the day.
Person #2, when we were 75% of the way to work an SUV with 3 headlights was going the other way….and the center head light was insanely bright…then I realized what it was….Who needs fog lights when you can just wire tie a hand held spotlight to your grill.
Person #3, I drop off JRX at work and make it to the parking garage. On the first floor there is 1 very small spot due to the poor parking abilities of others….and there is a GM Envoy trying to pull into it….she pulls forward to back into the space and hits the new Nissan Titan in front of her, the Titan hits the pillar behind it….she backs into the space….misses, pulls forward hits the Titan, the Titan hits the pillar…she realizes she can’t fit into the spot, pulls forward, hits the Titan once more for good measure, the Titan hits the pillar and she drives further down the row and parks, and RUNS to the stairs to leave….I took the time to be the Good Samaritan and wrote down their plate number, and left a note on the Titan’s windshield with my number as a witness….but it was funny that there wasn’t a scratch on the Titan(a small scuff where it hit the pillar)…but the Envoy’s bumper was about to fall off. And just as I was starting the first sentence of this part, the Titan owner called me….I told him exactly where to find the Envoy…and he laughed his $$$ off at the damage she had….he said it looked like the bumper was only being held on my bungee cords anyway…he said he’s not even going to bother with insurance unless she tries something….in which case he has my number….nice guy though, he even offered to buy me a beer after work….I said thanks, but politely declined, I’m not helping him to get anything out of it, unless you count a good feeling, and an assurance that we won’t be hit by that person tomorrow.
Person #4, a person I work with came in this morning with a bit of a stagger, smelling of whisky...and not a good whisky either....dressed in torn jeans and a ripped up flannel shirt....I know I'm not the only one who saw it(or will see it since we work in a cubicle farm)....but nothing will be done...I'm just glad I'm not their supervisor anymore, this person is deeply involved in the u n i o n, so just out of fear of the u n i o n the managers will do/say nothing....at least when I was in that spot I'd try to take action (before upper management told me to back off before the u n i o n got involved)....I'm not anti-u n i o n, but some of them appear to exist for the sole purpose of aggressively protecting those who should not be protected. (sorry but that's how I feel)...
In other news….we hit 64,000 gamer score well, 64065. We’ve been playing Banjo Kazooie all weekend….I LOVE that game! it’s the first thing I’ve found that’s the equivalent to having a full Lego set to solve problems. I have about 40 blueprints so far….and that’s not including the ones I deleted that became obsolete due to new available parts…
I guess it’s time we started looking to pick up L4d….I have a gift card to burn, and might have a game or two to trade in…so…I guess the end of next week we may be available for some L4D zombie splattering goodness.

2 Comments A strange day, and a COD question.
I know all of my days are strange….but this was really odd….
I had a Purchase Agent come to talk to me today, he is someone I have dealt with a lot over the past year and a half….this is the first time I ever met the guy. Now I admit, my cubicle (aka, my padded prison) is in no way professional…I have several massive piles of paper stacked on the floor because our file room is full and since I have extra room, everyone piles their stuff here. I have a collection of Video game magazines on the wall, and a few other bits game memorabilia around…well, he walks in and asks if I am really me(he even walks out to check the name on my cubicle again….me with my Penn State Visor and Skull Candy head sets (playing Avenged Sevenfold). I say yes, officially introduce myself to this guy, ask him how everything is going (since people don’t visit me unless something very bad is happening and they need me to fix it).
So, he says he just stopped by to chat….um…ok…so we chat. Talk about Penn State, he notices my magazines and makes small talk about how his 8 yr old plays video games, and thought it was funny that I haven’t “moved on” with my life…but all is still good. Then he asks how many kids I have….now I answer honestly, and I say “we don’t have any kids”. The response I’m use to getting is “oh, well, it’s not for everyone”, “it’s good that you are waiting till you are ready”, some crap about being patient, “it sometimes take a while”…but this guy, whom I had a very good professional relationship with, looks me straight in the eyes and says “well, it’s apparent you don’t take yourself, your wife, or your life seriously, so if you have any more business with me, you will be conducting it through my assistant, she has no ambition either” (I will have a lot of fun letting his assistant know he said that about her...because she is a very very sweet girl who happens to be 20yr old with a 5 year old son)
Now if that wasn’t enough, one of my co-workers(the only other person in my section who is working today) walks over to me and starts giving me crap about how any person my age who can in no way be identified as a “responsible adult” should be locked up as a drain on social growth. (and here I though intollerance was the biggest drain on social growth)
I went through 5 years of college, 3 years working in what is commonly known as the worst place to work in my organization. My wife and I own our house, have a new car, 2 cats, and are extremely happy together. Heck, I even do some work mentoring an inner city youth (who will be going into the Marine Corp in 11 months….and I couldn’t be prouder). ….the only thing we don’t have are kids….and we don’t want kids at the moment because we aren’t ready for kids, so how the hell am I irresponsible?!?!?
Seriously, I am starting to think I have a sign over my head that says “caution; Crazy person”, or “free tank of gas with any unique insult”. Now I know a lot of people in my office are starting to lose it because we are going to go through a MASSIVE reorganization in the near future….and I think I’m the only person who’s excited about it because I thrive in chaos and change and I love a challenge. So, I’ll just chalk all this up to them having a group mental breakdown…because if that’s the case, this re-org could turn very profitable very quickly for an opportunistic immature adult who’s willing to sell out their coworkers for more money....
On to another topic...has anyone heard anything about the new DLC for COD WaW? I heard a while ago that it was to release on 1/6 with tons of surprises....but I havn't heard anything since.

4 Comments The Anti-resolutions
Ok, so it’s time for resolutions…now I am about the worst person when it comes to keeping promises to myself...so I will develop my anit-resolutions, because if I promise not to do it …well….I’m at almost a 100% success rate for failing….so, this year I have the following resolutions;
1. I will continue to eat foods that I know are bad for me at times that I should not….like the gummi worms before supper, the Chocolate bar before breakfast, everything I eat after 10pm. ….and the Chocolate bar I am eating while I write this(mmm…3 Musketeers)
2. I will continue to be hopelessly addicted to caffeine/coffee, chocolate, red bull, gummi worms, and Dry/Dirty Gin Martinis (no promises on failing to keep this one, *takes another sip from his Red Bull*)
3. I will turn off the Xbox, and give up on ever reaching 100k gamer score…only 36995 points left to not get.
I’m sure there’s more but the last thing I want to do is commit myself to failing to meet a specified goal that I might successfully accomplish.

0 Comments am I really creepy?
Today is just one of those odd days…now, I work with lots of people who don’t like me, they think they know me because we work in a cubicle farm….well, they know as much as I want them to know….and that’s not much…so today I heard a new complaint about me(not that there are lots of complaints about me, but I work with a bunch of no guts pansies)…so lets set up the back story…
A newer hire in my office who works on the other side of the office caused quite a commotion when she started…apparently she was a model or something before she hit size 6 and was too fat to stay in that line of work (the only reason I know that much is because the guys in my office talked about it for the 2 weeks before she started here)….now she’s not some super model but she’s not bad looking…now the big thing to remember here is that I noticed her but I really don’t care…almost every guy in the office is drooling over her constantly bugging her, and just stopping by for a chat every chance they get….once again…I just don’t care. I’m happily married (unlike 90% of the guys I work with…the other 2 who don’t care; one’s wife works in this building too, and the other is blind(legally))…now I have had to talk with her a few times because of actual work related issues and I am always straight to the point, so it’s not like she thinks I’m some crazy stalker type, I just don’t care….
well, I had to walk through her section twice earlier today, on my third time through her section she walks into her supervisor’s office shortly after I walk out (I know because I had some work to deal with in the next office over)….well, I hear her say that she thinks I’m extremely creepy and would like her supervisor to do something about it….yup…she is complaining about me, the guy who couldn’t care an less what she looks like, only that she does her job so I can do mine…she doesn't complain about the married guy always telling me that she said she’d think about a threesome with him and his wife….not the guy who keeps trying to get her phone number and address by claiming he needs it for HR reasons (he doesn’t work for HR)…nope…it’s me, the “Creepy guy” (I wonder if I could change my Gamer tag to that)...but really, I’m not good looking, I’m not horribly ugly either…at least I don’t think I am ugly enough to warrant being creepy…but for some really strange reason, it made me happy to hear that someone actually calls me “that creepy guy”…really, it made this day a whole lot better…
Now I know the reason she thinks I’m creepy is because I’m the only guy who’s not falling over himself to get near her…and may be the only straight guy she knows (who isn’t blind or has his wife watching his every move) who isn’t…yup…that’s me destroyer of inflated egos. She may have been in a few photo shoots or whatever, but my wife could still kick her A$$ at anything, because my wife is awesome and I’d say that even if she didn’t read my blogs. (hi dear!...and I'm thinking about making BBQ for supper, what do you think?)
Now the point that has me really entertained…I want to see how they can possible react to me being creepy in an HR sense, because I don’t violate my code of ethics and morals, make no imappropriate conversation, and can count on one hand the number of times I’ve had any reason to talk to her(being the only times I have ever talked to her)…and since even our HR people won’t tell her no, I’m very entertained watching to see how they approach this...
If anyone is wondering “is his office really this crazy” let me say this….in this office, every day they run soapy water through the coffee maker to clean it(which is bad enough on it's own)….but they do it with the liquid soap from the bathrooms….I don’t drink the coffee here.
