Tattoos

My Wife and I are hardcore fans of the Discovery show Miami Ink. We each have one tattoo and would love to get more ink done. I think this show inspires us in that way. I have a great black and white pic of my wife that I would love to have Kat Von D do on my upper arm or shoulder. Problem is, Miami Ink is in, well, Miami. We live in Montana. Adding the price of plane tickets to the price of the tat, makes it out of reach. I have seen by Kat's Myspace page that she is based in CA. Still no help.

So, I am enlisting the help of my 202p peers. I figure there's 9000 people enrolled on the site right? With 6 degrees of separation, someone here knows her or knows someone who knows someone..... you get the picture.   So, I am starting a petition to get Kat out on the road touring and tattooing. We need to convice her that she needs to see MT, and what better time than Springtime right?

I figure maybe we can put together a network of people who want to get ink done and maybe it will create a path to montana, even better!

Weather update

The Weather service now says this is the worst Spring storm to hit us since 1955. There is a Blizzard warning South of us, covering Sheridan Wyoming. ONe site says we are going to get 3-5 feet by tomorrow, personally, I don't think we will get that much, but boy howdy, better bring in the cows!

Spring has Sprung!!

Well, finally, Spring is here. I love Spring. Spring and Fall are my favorite times of the year. I am tired of the snow. I have lived in Montana all of my life... I am tired of the snow and cold. Winters are bla. If we don't have the snow, which, for the past few years has been the case, the landscape is brown and dreary all Winter long. But that doesn't matter now! Spring is here! Our Tulips and Daisys are coming up. There are buds on our little tree. the grass is getting quite green, and in fact, is in need of the years first mow. So forgive me when I say WTF?! It has been raining and sleeting all morning. And the forecast? HA! This afternoon... 100% chance of snow, Hi 36F Accumulation - 1" Tonight ..............100% chance snow, hi 26F.... Accumulation - 7" Thurs....................90% chance snow, hi 35F.... Accumulation - 5" March, in like a Lion, out like a Lamb? My ass.

Our Annie

I am what is known as, a dog person. It's nothing against cats, I happen to find kitties particulaly cute and cuddly. But as fate would have it, I am allergic to the little furballs. Cats and horses, and a host of weeds, pollens, dust and other dander.

Our last family dog was a wonderful Brittany Spaniel ~ Lady. My Mom always said whe wasn't a dog, but a people instead. Wonderful temperment, smart, funny... all the things you would love in a dog. She was the runt of the litter, but you wouldn't know it. I loved teaching her tricks. I had two of my favorites. The first was to 'Pray', where she would put her paws together up on a chair or bench and then put her nose down in them. The second was re-enacting the scene from "Every Which Way But Loose" where Clint would point his finger at Clyde (like a pistol) and tell him to stick 'em up. Clyde would stick his long arms up on the air and surrender, but Clint would drop the hammer anyway and shoot him. Clyde would fall down and play dead. I got Lady to do this by sitting pretty (just sitting up on her haunches) and then I would pretend to shoot her with my hand and go bang, and she would fall over and play dead.

Lady has been gone since 1989, and I have lived alone since, in apartments. So I waited to get a dog until I got a house and yard. Well I finally got my house 4 years ago, met my soul mate and got married 2 years later, and last year we decided it was finally time to get a puppy. I looked pretty hard at all of our local shelters and rescues, but couldn't find a dog we really liked. I had always wanted another Brittany so I started looking online and finally found a breeder a couple hundred miles away. Their litter was born appropriately enough on Father's Day last year, and so Annie came into our lives. We got her at 7 weeks and man were we excited!

So here are some of my favorite pics, at least the ones I have access to here at work... (I'm on my break.... honest!)

RIP Winnie

We've had a sad couple weeks of late. My Wife's dog Winnie has been slowly going downhill. She was 13-14 years old and a sweet lil lady! She and her Mom decided this past weekend that it was time. She was eating less and less, and seemed disoriented at times. Her hearing and sight was going as well. It was time. She had lived a good life. What well cared for dog couldn't claim that? O to have a dog's life! We had her put to sleep on Tuesday. Rest in peace Winnie, we love you and miss you!
