Just ordered Gears tonight. Looking forward to the distraction but it won't take me completely away from Halo.

Team Snipers

Rockband

Played Rockband for the first time on Saturday at a friends house a block away. We had a couples night and I was enjoying the homemade brew a bit too much. Anyway, I found that I get just as pissed when screwing up on the drums as in Halo. Wow, who knew that drum sticks could fly that far. Pretty happy they didn't break a window. Wife was pretty impressed. Anyway, wasn't a night killer because they are used to my personallity and we continued to have fun.

Frustration

I am getting more and more frustrated with the countless times I seem to get hosed in H3. People walking through nades or rockets. Getting beat by people you are better really sends me through the roof. Just weird shit always seems to happen when I play.

Anyone else notice something different with the melee lunge? I have been getting beat down from some crazy distances as of late. It looks almost like a sword lunge. Hell I never get that type of luck. I pretty much stay out of melee distance just because of the inconstancies of the system. What do you do when the lunges are getting crazy?

Matches

Today was finally the day that I passed the number of matches in Halo 3 vs Halo 2. Not sure if that is a good thing though.

Boundless

I sure like Snowbound a lot better now that it is Boundless. I like the shield doors being taken out. This led to some campy teams and some real cheap tactics. I am really pleased that the Ghost is gone as well. This was my favorite change by far. Having a Ghost on this map really made things unbalanced. The only suggestion I would have is to eliminate the bubble shields. Now the map is somewhat playable in my opinion. It isn't my favorite but it works.

H 3

Just hit 3,000 on-line matches in Halo 3 the other day. I have almost caught the amount of games played in Halo 2. I honestly don't play many other games. I still find it hard to believe that I haven't stopped playing it by now. I just can't seem to get enough.

Looking forward to the update today and hitting it hard some more. Always looking for a match.

Thanks

First of all my intensions of this blog is to promote the clan 2old4Duty and help others see how to become a better clan mate. Nothing more, Nothing less.

This is a word of thanks to the 2old4duty clan. I have recently asked to be dropped from the clan due to my inactivity. My intensions were to play a lot of COD4 with them and be a true asset to this wonderful clan. However, my heart wasn't in COD4 and I simply wasn't contributing like they deserve. I honestly feel like they deserve a more contributing member than myself and knowing that 2old4duty has a waiting list, I decided to step down. From the time I joined to the time I left I was treated with nothing but respect. Keep in mind you need to take the term "Eat It" as a compliment. The leadership is top notch and the direction they are heading is very impressive. I have always wanted to be in something bigger than myself and that is what they are achieving. I just haven't contributed like they deserve. Don't get me wrong, 2old4Duty doesn't require you do go above and beyond playing and posting, they just have some really active members that go the extra mile in getting things done. Having members just doing a little adds up to a lot. Keep up the good work and feel free to send an invite if you need an extra body. I have no intensions of deleting anyone off of my friends list but will understand if you need to drop me for a clan mate.

Thanks again for the good times and for showing me how to be a better clan mate. I will take what I have learned and be much more than a name in a clan. Sometimes, in order to be a better clan mate, a person must be willing to leave for the better of the clan.

P.S. I really enjoyed the first news letter that I received from 2old4Duty. I hope to keep getting them in the future. I also hope to play with 2old4Duty members when Battlefield: Bad Company comes out or when they need someone to fill in.

Update

I've been kind of sick lately. Haven't been able to play as much. Plus the wife is tired of being a Halo widow. I've been really pushing to get my last on-line achievement and I haven't had much luck. Low and behold I'm now a 34 in Lone Wolf and still don't have the laser achievement. Something I have noticed in Lone Wolf is that I have to keep to my style of play to do well. I started losing focus around 18 and caught myself rushing in rambo style and doing a terrible job at it. I'll tell you one thing is that if I have a BR I will do rather well. If not, I do rather poorly. If you are looking for some awesome tips go to Fetal Injuryis blog and that will be a great refresher/learning experience for you.

Have to keep it short because I'm still exhausted.

Broken Arm

Was looking forward to some COD 2 and Halo 3 last night until I got a call from school telling me that my daughter (9) broke her arm. So needless to say it was a long day yesterday. Everything is going well now and she is doing great. She broke her other arm about a year and a half ago on a tree swing and this time it was on the playground during PE.

Wow, I checked out the new vid doc on the marketplace for Halo 3 and I'm super excited to play. Won't be able to play until Oct 4th though. None the less, I'm really going to enjoy the new features and enhancements. Happy gaming to all who play it on release.

Practice games

What game do you use to practice with when you aren't able to get on-line? I use UC2: Liandri Conflict for reaction time and anticipation. I switch to GRAW 2 for the tactical side of playing. Nothing like being sneaky in GRAW 2 and now COD4 Beta.

I can't forget the upcoming Halo 3 release. Pretty stoked about playing it. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town on vacation for the first week of release.

Out

I'll be off until next Wednesday or Thursday.

First of all we have 3 couples coming over to play cards and stuff. The wife won't let me kick them out at 9:00 like I had hoped, so I doubt I'll be able to play. She doesn't like me to talk about gaming to friends either. I guess it is the look of pure joy I get when I talk about knifing and killing people on-line. They just don't get it and I don't suppose our guests would like hanging around a person that has killed thousands of people on-line. Don't suppose they like to hear about T-bagging either. Nothing like mentioning humping a dead corps when you kill them. The great satisfaction of the hunt and kill that drives me to play as much as possible.

Saturday I'll be at the K-State game in Manhattan, KS. It will be fun but starts at 6:00. When I get back on Sunday, I'm off to Council Bluffs for a conference that will last until Wednesday. I'll bring the 360 but won't be able to get on-line. It will give me a chance to practice some things.
