Week

What a week. Won a Henry Golden Boy .22 rifle at the fair this week. Will sell it to my neighbor probably this weekend. I have already used the money to buy the kids a Nintendo Wii. It was very hard to find one but managed to locate one last night and picked it up.

Golf

Thanks for the comments on my last post. I used to play all of the time. About 5-9 years ago I played quite a bit. I won the club championship and was runner up several years in a row as well. I'm pretty realistic on my golf talent and hard on myself too. Maybe down the road I'll start playing more but as I had kids, I had to give up that dream. The time it takes to get real good was to much to ask out of me. The wife, kids, job, house, etc... was more of a priority. I learned a great deal about how sports are connected in many ways along with gaming. For instance, when I'm playing good golf I'm not thinking about it much. It just seems to flow. This happens in my shooters as well. Things seem to just go your way. When I play more golf, I concentrate more thought towards it and over analyze what I'm doing. In essence, my mind gets in my way. The same is true with gaming. When you start to force things to happen is when you usually do worse. Lastly, I'll throw in on that you shouldn't get mad. I play well when calm but it goes down hill quickly when I get upset. I start making more mental mistakes and trying things I shouldn't do. I'm sure that the people who have gamed with me know that I have a temper. I'll be OK for awhile but will blow my top pretty quickly as well. It has been a real strugle not to get mad while playing golf or Halo. In summary, have fun and get out of your own way when playing sports or FPS games.

I could easly ramble on with this topic for quite sometime but will stop instead. If you are wondering how often I play golf now, it is once every 2 months it seems. It is easier to control my obsessive personality that way. Once I get hooked, it becomes a problem. The wife used to hate how I lived golf but she has changed her tune when I started playing the XBOX instead. Now she begs for me to play but usually tell me no when I make plans to play. I'm really looking forward to getting my kids into playing now. They sure will test your patience at times when you take them out golfing.

Almost Back

Wow, I've been pretty busy. I've had company here since Thursday night which meant no playing since then. They are heading out tomorrow. However, it is fair time in Graham County until Wednesday so I should be on again soon.

Played some golf on Saturday. I thought I was going to be rusty but shot a 3 under par for 18 holes. So it was a 67 on a par 70. I bet I won't see that in a while again. Thankfully my home course is very forgiving. Didn't play as well on Sunday for our 4 man scramble. My team was 10 under par and shot a 60. Not good enough to take any money home but was a good time.

Finally

I finally beat the Chinese portion of BF 2. I sure felt like an idiot doing it the other way for so long. If I would have taken the stairs and not the broken cat walk I would have beaten it a long time ago. It's tough to beat the game when you are getting killed from a shotty at a 100 yards away. Good stuff though.

Gaming

The wife and kids are heading out on Wednesday. So guess what? I'll be playing quite a bit on Wednesday and Thursday until they get back on Friday.
