Another close game

Wow! What an ending to the Broncos game. Again, the Broncos dominated the Raiders, yet, let them hang around, and this week had to kick a field goal in OT to win. Had to use a little trickery in OT to have Oakland kick a field goal again, which they missed and gave the Broncos the ball for the last time in the game. My team is gonna kill me this year yet. Week one, a last second field goal to win. Week two, a field goal in OT to win. This team is suppose to be better than this. Should be blowin out Buffalo and Oakland. They are not going to compete with New England or Indy if they keep playing like this. Maybe they'll play better against the Jaguars. I hope so, my heart won't be able to take another down to the wire game.

When it comes right down to it, we are 2 - 0 and leading the AFC West. Its good to be on top for now! Much harder games coming up against Indy and San Diego. Guess we'll see what we're made of then.

NFL Kicks Off...Finally!!

Well football season is finally here, and again everyone has great hopes for their teams. I was a little disappointed in the way the Broncos played yesterday. I mean, how can you rack up over 400 yards of offense, hold the Bills to under 200 yards of offense, and still have to hurry and kick a game winning field goal to score only 15 points. The good - at least it was a win and nobody will be talking in week 17 how the Broncos won that game. Next up, the Raiders at home. Should be another win. Since Mike Shanahan has become coach of the Broncos, we've pretty much owned them. Besides, they're just not that good right now. After saying that, the Raiders will probably beat them now.

I am in 3 fantasy football leagues and I'm getting beat in all of them right now. I have a chance to pull out each game, We'll just have to wait until tonight to see. In hind sight, I should have gone with the way I drafted my team and played Clinton Portis and Randy Moss. I got leary because neither of them played a down in preseason and both were listed as probable. If I would have played those 2 guys, I'd be winning without question. Lesson learned!

Random Thoughts...

* Wow, its been a while since I last did this. Must not have time, or not a lot going on with me lately. Probably the latter

* The COD4 beta is starting to grow on me, although I miss a cover system. I'm usually not a run n' gun fan.

* Rainbow Six Vegas is absolutely the best game I own, or have ever owned. The SP is fun, Coop is great, and the MP is just right. (Notice that just because I LOVE this game, doesn't mean that I'm any good at it). The only game I own that I would not consider trading or selling. Untouchable!

* Tiger Woods 08 has some real issues. The damn freezing glitch, the swing stick is too sensitive, the online lobby sucks that after the final putt against someone, it just kicks you out. No chance to say anything. I think these can be addressed in a patch, but not sure.

* Playing a game of golf online with your buddies is almost like the real thing, minus the physical activity. I enjoy real world golf for the commeraderie, spending time with your friends, bullshitting and drinking a few beverages. I've discovered that you can accomplish the same thing online without getting off the couch. That rocks!!

* I hate glory hungry people, especially at work. Its more important how you treat people, than getting that next permotion at any cost. Dimming someone else's candle does not make yours shine more bright. Gay, I know!

* I am excited for the start of the NFL season. I think the Broncos should do ok. Hopefully they can make the playoffs in the tough AFC. Probably have to have 10 or 11 wins just to make the playoffs.

I've Created A Monster - I'm Excited!!

I recently went out and purchased Guitar Hero 2 for the Xbox 360. I figured that it would give me and my 6 year old some fun. What I didn't count on was my wife getting into the game. So much so, that she wants to play all the time. We are particularly enjoying coop mode, but have recently discovered that a lot of fun can be had in face off mode. My wife has had numerous perfect songs and has a better career score than me (which isn't hard). If you haven't checked this game out, I urge you to do so. It is fun for the whole family and the difficulty can be tailored to any age.

Who knows, my next purchase may be another Xbox 360 so I can get some of my playing time back.

An example of why I joined this site

Late last night after all the festivities had ended for the 2o2p group I normally play RB6V with on Saturday night, I decided to stay on and find a public game. I was not ready to go to bed yet, and thought I would get in a few games of sharpshooter.

I ended up getting into a game that had noticeably quite a few of one certain clan on one team. I ended up, by luck of the draw, being on that team. I thought, this will be ok, they are probably out to have some fun.

Well, anyone that plays with me, knows I catch a lot of bullets. I never have the most kills, and most of the time, I have the most deaths. Well that didn't change last night either. I think I ended up 3 - 12 in a first match loss. They give me a little ribbing, but I blow it off. The second match I fair no better, 4-14 in a particularly brutal loss. The clan I'm playing with (I don't know these guys) procede to beat me up. Essentially, blaming their incompetence on me. Without my 14 deaths, our team still would have loss by 30+ deaths. They want to boot me. Someeone from the other squad sticks up and tells them to take someone from their team and they would take me to prove a point, that it was not just me for the reason they lost. Well the match ensues and I go 14 - 12. More kills than deaths!! My new team wins as well. Well you can imagine what the talk in the lobby was like. I quietly bow out of the game and go to bed feeling a little better about my game playing and getting a bit of sweet revenge.

Now I think the RB6V community is pretty good for the most part, but the point to this is this; You never know what you're going to get.

Here, you always know what you're going to get. Good fun, gamers who respect one another, and playing for the love of the game.

Thanks to all my buddies and everyone associated with this site for remembering it's more important to have fun than how many kills to deaths you have. I will always game with this group, first, over any random room over XBL.
