You are the proud winner of an actual smile and an affirming nod. Congrads. For all the amazing details of why that is funny click here.

Well I have barely got to play Halo 3 so you know I am not blogging much if I don't have time for halo 3. I am loving the game, but getting ready for the trip is more important yes I know, I know. I leave from Detroit air port at 6:30 am yes I know. But it will be awesome to arrive in Atlanta and hit the AT that same day. One week, no cell phone, no emails, no buildings, no electricity, just me a good friend and the wilderness. Ahhh that will be amazing. While you are in your cubicle this friday this is where I will be, Scenic overlook

I am not trying to rubb it in or anything,, umm okay yeah I am. But if you have a problem with it then you can come talk to me about it over a camp fire near a scenic overlook. I have plenty of trail mix to go around.

Why is that cute girl kissing that bald guy?

Dedicated to Wally.

One of my favorite quotes from marriage counseling situations is as follows.  "I just don't love my wife anymore" counselor says "Well, go home and love her."

My wife and I are so different sometimes it is a wonder we get along at all.  For example.

She had the second highest GPA in her high school class.
I went to summer school every year, but one. Then night school along with day school just to graduate on time.

She graduated magna cum laude from College
I begged for professors to allow me to turn in late work so I could graduate at all.

She listens to loves songs and girl rock.
I listen to alternative rock and blues.

She comes from a family where they talk to each other.
I come from a family where I wonder where they are.

She will grew up in the artic cold (ohio)
I grew up in south Florida and north Georgia

She likes to take long walks
I like to play video games all night

There are so many things about our very person that are different.  It amazes me that we can live with each other.  Before anyone says opposites attract, I will tell you I disagree.  Opposites collide.  Opposites tend to hurt each other in my experience because they don't understand each other.  It is not our differences that make us love each other though we do enjoy laughing at how weird we think each other are.  It is the fact that when I (or her) wake up in the morning and look at the other we make a decision.  I look at her and tell myself despite how my emotions or wants feel  I am going to love her today.  I am going to do the things she wants me to do.  I am going to sacrifice my own wants and I am going to love her.

This is our perspective on marriage.  This is our perspective on love (isn't that fairy tale like).  Sometimes we screw up, fall off track, and totally piss each other off, but we talk argue and get ourselves back to that concept.   So in answer to Wally's question about the pic, she made a decision to be my wife.  Now she is stuck with me forever and we are going to make the most of it.   It may not be a Hollywood or Cinderella love story, but I wouldn't want anything different.

I am going to try and start bloggin

I have tried and failed to do this so many times.  So just like every other habit we try to create or break in life here we go.  Tonight was a good night.  It is cool to work with kids and see their eyes open as they begin to understand something new.  I got to see that tonight in a few kids eyes as we were talking about a few things.

For me I am still coping with the concept of soon being a Dad.  It is exciting and scary.  Mostly scary because I end up shopping with my wife to get pregnancy cloths.  Talk about a lose lose situation.  But I cant complain because she is letting me buy a bunch of new hiking gear for my trip coming up next week.  I will be taking a week to hike through the AT section that starts in Georgia and runs through the Smokies.  Well more to come later,  Hopefully.

Sunday night

My Mom and little brother showed up in town to surprise me this weekend.  So it has been awesome having them around.  It is tough when your family lives ten hours away and you know they are going through hard times.  So it is great to visit some.  Hence another short post.  But the main thing is I made it through this weekend and had about 50-60 people through my house for Tia (my wife)'s graduation party.  All in all it was a good and exhausting weekend.
