Have I mentioned lately how much I hate my job.... it wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the boredom and the nosey/needy co-workers, and the parties, sorry, I came to work to get a job done, not spend 3 hours of a 1 hour lunch eating chips and talking about how busy everyone is and how there arent' enough hours in the day to do all the work they have.....let's cut out the weekly party and "TA DA" that's 2 more hours in the week that they can work....there, I have saved the organization tons of money....now pay me more.

I feel happy with my 360voice recap of this week. and with 2 new gamefly games set to arive this week, I'm interested to see what new achievements I can get. We finally beat round 50 of Hord, yes it was on casual, but I suck at Gears 2 so I'm really pretty happy. and all it took was a ton of help from Loco, DC Captain, Lethean Grazer, Rumble pie, Dal80 and my darling wife. (plus several people from last week like Swank, yes, I'm thanking Swank, and Kustkillme2). now all we have to do is figure out how to beat gears 2 on Hardcore and insane, and Gears 2 on Normal, hardcore, and insane....then all the multiplayer...the Seriously (1 and 2) achievements....we have our work cut out for us.

Automan21k's Weekly Recap - Dec 1 2008

Watch closely because here comes the recap... if you aren't paying attention, you might miss it: If your Xbox is depressed, try playing seven days in a row like Automan21k did last week. It has a way of making you a bit giddy... Too bad gamerscore isn't money because with an increase of 1075 points we could make some bank. Yay for 51 achievements! w00t!

I was lucky enough to sample 3 new tasty treats during the week! Game names are Aegis Wing, Assault Heroes 2, and Gears of War 2. Look for us in the leaderboards... maybe... Also, I think Automan21k's favorite game last week was CoD: World at War. He played it on 4 of the days.

For the record, I'm a Cowboys fan, so I'd be happy for anything to affect my NFC East rivals. But this thing with Plaxico Burress is just sad. Yeah, I know the guy broke laws, I know he was an idiot for putting himself in bad situations, I know he was an idiot for "packing heat", etc.

But what you have to also consider is that the NFL opens it up for this stuff. They (and society) have made these guys in to superstars. They are targets, and I am sure they feel threatened especially with everyone that has happened lately (See also Sean Taylor). If you've read the most recent ESPN Magazine (I think) you can start to understand that it doesn't just affect the guys you might think, but it is guys like Ben Rothlisberger. They are targets and feel a need to protect themselves. Granted, buying a gun to do it yourself is somewhat stupid, but if you are trained, etc. one might think: "Why not?"

It is easy for us to say that they shouldn't dress like they do, flashy and showy, shouldn't hang out where they do, shouldn't drive what they do, etc. But then, can you even imagine the pressure and requests these guys get from family, friends, bar/restaurant owners, people wanting a showy opening... hell, even their teams and the NFL. If you pay the least bit attention, you can most likely figure out 85% of a star NFL athlete's schedule.

Sorry, I'm kind of rambling, but I am tired of idiocy taking over sports. Part of me thinks it always has and was just covered up by the media (see also Mickey Mantle). But this is a stain on an NFL season that was interesting just for the sheer craziness of the season.

Fantasy Football Update - For the 2nd year in a row, the men in 2old2playHALO Keeper League have been humbled by our resident female gamer, Flapjaxx. She actually finished two wins ahead of everyone, and if it weren't for Ghost, it would've been three! Unfortunately, the Iowa Mulchinators finished even worse than last year, in a tie for 7th place, which sounds better than "in a four-way tie for last place". Anyhow, it is playoffs time, so good luck to PBR, Boomer, Flap, Ghost, NormalGuy, and DANK. May the best teabagger win!

Well I am a geek at best and one of the things I like doing is collecting cards.  I know I asked before, but was wondering if anyone collects the TCG cards Chaotic or Marvel VS series.  Not sure why, but I could not get into Magic or WoW TCG that is out there right now. 

So last night I got to play A Kingdom for Keflings.  I only did single player, but look forward to playing it more and maybe beating it.  Later this week I am going to start back on Fable 2 in hopes to finish it soon.  Yes it is one of those things I still need to do, but have not gotten around to doing it. 

With Christmas almost upon us I am not going to get Rise of the Argonauts for christmas and just get Halo Wars LE instead.  My RTS is getting the better of me and the new video on the Marketplace got me more interested.  Sad part is I am thinking about buying the premium theme as well, but can't bring my self to spend 250 points on it.  Unless someone tells me I get more clothes for my avatar to show off how stupid I am for buying the premium theme.  

Looks like I will be going the distance for work again, but tonight I am going to relax by watching Chuck when I get home.  With everything else my daughter who is 4 just loves Sonic Unleashed even though she doesn't know how to play it.  Yes she can walk, but when it comes to fighting that is what daddy is for.  So let this month be National Teach your Kids how to play a game month.  Or at least that is how I am going to take it.

So there I was driving through Camdenton Missouri, on my way to the last stop on my route.  All ready logging almost 400 miles, with less than 40 to get home.  The cruise control is set on my work truck to 32-33ish, in a 30mph zone......as I entered the town, a cop was behind me for a few blocks, and turned off on a street, no big deal.  I come to the hwy 5 and 54 intersection, the last road before it goes back to highway, and its an inclined road, still on cruise control, I coasted down the hill with the 50mph sign in sight no more than 100 yards away, when I pass another cop going the opposite direction.......the motherfucker turns a 180 better than the fucking Dukes of Hazzard could have done, and was on my ass in a second, lights go on, I pull into the gas station parking lot.

Not more than 10 seconds later, another cop pulls up and parks behind me, then....another.  No one has come up to me, they all have their spotlights beaming into all of my fucking mirrors.  Then finally this young punk rookie( "I have a badge, and that makes me god") comes up to my window, and I swear it was like he just rehearsed the lines right before he walked up to me....."May I have your license and proof of insurance please"  he says, I comply, he disappears into his cop car.  Meanwhile, one of the other cops was walking around my truck.......Its a white Ford box truck, basically the size of an ambulance, with a glass rack in the box.........the cop shines his flash light inside the cab of the truck, continues walking around it, untill he disappears behind where I cant see him. 

At that very moment in time.........I was Camdenton Missouri's most wanted

One cop gets in his car, drives slowly around me, so to make sure I see him looking at me........the other cop that was looking in the vehicle, gets in his car, and leaves, then the rookie finally comes back, and says....and I quote...

Rookie:  Sir, do you know why I pulled you over?

Me:  I have no idea, I'm going to assume for speeding

Rookie:  Yes sir, that is correct, the reason the speed limit is posted at 30mph is because this is a lake community and a tourist town, and it can be very busy in the summer and winter months.

Me:  Ok, then how come the other officer didn't pull me over earlier when he was behind me, if I was driving so fast?

Rookie:  Sir, perhaps you were not speeding at that point, or the officer did not have his radar on, but I clocked you at 46mph in a 30mph zone

Me:  Ok......you clocked me literally less than 100yrds from the 50mph sighn, and the only thing here between that is a gas station, not to mention the road is on an incline, my cruise controll was set on 32mph.........granted I did not break, but at the same time I did not accelerate either.  I think your reaction when you turned around and started all this was way more dangerous than me coasting up a few mph's

Rookie:  Sir, I have written you a ticket for speeding, 46 in a 30, here is the fine amount, you can mail your payment in, have a safe night, and slow down.

Me:  Scorching with inner anger as I look at the ticket, and fine of $140 for the speeding, and $50 court fee, for a court that I dont have to appear in.

This is my 1st speeding ticket in almost 4 years, it really wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't in my work truck.  I had to leave my boss an email explaining everything, hopefully nothing bad will come out of it.

I hate rookie cops, I get mouthy with them, probaly shouldn't, but I do, I dont get mouthy usually with seasoned cops, because they are generally over the badge = god complex, and have seen and heard it all, and are generally nice,  but this rookie, just had that smirk of I am the shit, going on along with his condensending attitude.   Motherfucker

I'm going to find the zombie cops in Left 4 Dead, and unload a few clips in their heads.

The Sick One

My girlfriend was at a craft fair this past weekend, selling some of her hand-made jewellery, just round the corner from her friends' house. Afterwards, we were invited over for dinner and a surprise impromptu birthday party for me!

Typically, my presents comprised of Game gift vouchers, which I spent yesterday on some PC games. FInally, I have my hands on Mass Effect, Fallout 3, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I can see my WoW-time being rather curtailed for the next few weeks

I spent a few hours last night playing Mass Effect - 3 or 4 hours playtime, only about 1 hour actual combat, the rest exploration and dialogue - I nearly wet myself with excitement!

I think my guildies in WoW are going to be missing me

I'm shipping my xbox in for repair and I got this message from xbox support.com.  I called 1800 my fucking box broke and all they could tell me was that I should call UPS.  I called ups and they told me they had to process an inquiry about why this happened.

Why the hell would the support center ask for another delivery date?  I have no fucking clue.

SOOOOOOOOOO........I'm waiting.  Luckily I've got a band-aid box.

Thanks to the thanksgiving holiday my box took a bit longer than I would have liked to get to the repair center in TX. Six days and it's been recived and the repair is in process. Hopefully I'll get lucky and get my box back sooner rather than latter so I can return my loaner.

Now that the Jasper's are out I'm seriously tempted to use this as the excuse to upgrade to a new elite and trade in the referb I'm likely to get from the repair center... Interesting point: an arcade + 120GB drive + HDMI cable kit is the same price as an Elite now. That seems fair to me. So do I want a new unit in white and peice meal it over a couple month or bite the bullet all at once... hrm...

Apparently there was something I missed on my drugs that said don't take with vitamins. That would make taking the combination I mentioned a "bad thing". Apparently I was "wrong" to do that. So when I asked for a med switch, well, they gave me a drug that has the same interaction warnings. Really great. So now I have two sets of drugs, that do the same thing, with the same problem interactions. Great. So I get to figure out how to change my pattern in life to fit this, which doesn't excite me much.

Of other note, I won a 2old2playHALO clan gamerscore challenge on 360voice.com. Since we mostly play Halo, or at least, most of the clan mostly plays Halo (I'm a bit of an odd duck), it wasn't a huge increase of points. I think 4 of the 8 people in the challenge didn't play anything but Halo, and we are all mostly maxed out on those achievements. I feel like I just typed "mostly" and "Halo" a ton.
