You know those tasty looking food product shots in commercials or movies? The yummy looking roast and mashed potatoes? You know the steam coming off them that makes it look like the perfect comfort food?  Well next time you see a scene like that know this ... one of the best ways to create the steam that makes everything look so nice and fresh and tasty, is to soak a tampon in water and put it in the microwave, then place it behind said foods.  It holds a lot of water and stays hot for quite some time, so you can get several takes done at a time!
