Think for yourself
I have decided to let politics leave my life. Not the local kind, those I can see on a daily basis. If I vote for more parks, I see it. If I vote for more police, I see it. On a national level politics are nothing but hot air. If you have the ability to remove yourself from thinking with your party and just look at the whole picture you will see I’m right. The Democrats and Republicans don’t care about their base. They say they do, but they really don’t. They put on a dog and pony show to lead you to believe they are on your side, but they aren’t. They get you all hot and bothered over smoke screen issues like gun control or abortion then go about stealing your money for things like bridges to small islands in Alaska where only 40 people live. The Republicans held the house, senate and president’s office for almost 6 years. What did they really do for their base? They could have pushed anything through that they wanted, did they? The Democrats are a bunch of little pouting children. The Republicans are right that they have no plan and no true goal. They get voted in to stop the war, and what do they do…ZERO. Regardless if you believe in this war or not you would think that the sides could stand up for what their base wants. Hell, many Republicans fearing the Bush white house polls are backing away from the president and this war as fast as they can. What happened to the party that backed their president 100% without a question? I guess it is easier when things look good and you do not fear for your job. What if the surge works? Do you think these Republicans will pull the same kind of crap the Democrats did after the war started going badly? I had to laugh at Kerry,”I voted for it, before I voted against it.” Sure you did...JACKASS. You can’t change what you did, be a man and say you screwed up. It would be nice to hear that from Bush once in a while too.
I can say I have been a Republican, Democrat and now undeclared. Both parties care about one thing, staying in office and getting money from the powerful lobby industry. They should work for us but they don’t. Regardless of what party you are for you should stand up against them for not doing what you voted them into office to do. Register undeclared so that your vote is not taken for granted. Make them earn your vote by doing something for a change. In my voting life I have voted for Republican, Democrats and some of the other parties that we never see or hear from. My vote is not going to someone on party lines; my vote is going to the man/woman that can do the best job for my city, county, state and country. You should never walk lock step with any party, group or religion. Always question everything. Since people run and control organizations and history has shown that people are swayed by power and money, you should be on your guard at all times.
Again, this is not a statement against either party, religious group or anything specific. It is just the simple statement that we are all taken for granted by groups when they don’t have to worry about us questioning the way they do things. Just do me a favor, don’t blindly follow anyone regardless of your party or belief system. The country and our world would be a better place if people had to answer for their choices.
The Doctor is out.
