Am I Overprotective?

Ok, heres the deal,.. I have 4 year old twins,.. Normally when they play in the yard its in the fenced in back yard.

Now that they have started waiting on the bus(in my front yard) the neighbor's 5 yr old comes over sometimes and waits with them. Not a big deal right?...

Bus was running late this morning, so they start foot races to kill some time, and I know kids like to test adults to find their boundaries. The neighbors boy was all up in the road. My kids were pushing their limits they know how we feel about being in the road. Granted they were only like a foot in the road. Then the neighbors kid wanted them to go across the road, I put my foot down and felt like a restrictive parent.

Im not wrong am I?.... I dont think I am. And since I feel like I make good descisions why ask you?...LMAO.

You were right. Your kids, your rules. Enough said.

Not over protective. Just being a good parent.

Be over protective, you can spoil them in every other way.

No you are not wrong. Since when is being restrictive wrong? I agree with Mulchinator. Your kids, your rules.

It is always better to be overprotective than not.

My wife's cousin lost a son because she wasn't.

Mulch is right. They are to young right now to have too many freedoms...

You're teaching them right, not to play in the street. Kids need limits and you are right to set them.
