I hates me some old people

I would like to find the retard who decided it was a good idea to create a service for people to login to view their medical chart online and kill them very slowly and painfully. Maybe in another 30 years our elderly will be sufficiently computer saavy to handle such a thing, but I'm sick and tired of fielding phone calls from cranky old farts who constantly lock themselves out of their charts because they don't have the common sense to write down their login information, or failing that, the ability to read a webpage and follow simple instructions.

Big Bumpin

No, not the burger king game (which I still have). Just bumping some trollbait off the front page. Don't mind me.

Star Wars exhibit

My wife and I went to the Star Wars exhibit at the St Paul science museum Saturday morning. Was actually our second time seeing it. The first time was a couple years ago when we were in Michigan and they had the exhibit down in Columbus Ohio. We unfortunately went on the last day in the late afternoon and the lines for seeing the cool stuff prohibited us from really enjoying it.

This time we got into the very first showing at 8:30 in the morning. While we were waiting for them to open, they sent out some people in costume. Overall I give them a big meh. Not a one of them was really in character and was mostly fodder for getting pictures with the kids. For some reason a guy in a stormtrooper outfit advising children to "have fun" and a couple of chubby jedi just didn't do it for me.

We got in and the robot movie/ride thing was down for maintenance, and it wasn't looking good for us. After looking around a bit, we decided we could do without it and moved on to the millenium falcon experience. Cost us an additional $3 each, and we had to wait in line for a while due to only 4 people being able to get in at a time. While we were waiting, we were treated to a few more people in costume coming by and generally ruining the atmosphere for us. The girl playing Leia didn't sound like she had ever seen any of the movies at all. When we did get in, we had to share the ride with another couple... luckily my wife was nice enough to let me sit up front, meaning she didn't really get to see most of it, as i'm a good foot taller than her. It was kinda cool... but nothing I couldn't have seen in a  planetarium. It was a pretty nice recreation of the cockpit of the falcon, though.

All in all, it was fun... seeing all the original costumes from the movies and getting to hang out with fellow star wars geeks for a few hours brought back fond memories. I do wish they would get rid of all the stuff from the crappy trilogy, but whatever...

In other news, my Xbox has been officially received by Microsoft and is awaiting repairs. Meaning at some point they should stuff a refurb in a box and ship it back to me. I'm just glad I have a decent pc, otherwise I'd be going nuts. Hoping to be back in Bad Company by this weekend.

RROD

So this past weekend my wife went out of town for a training class for work, and her parents were nice enough to take the baby for the weekend. I settled in Friday night to try and join my clan in a drunken game of Bad Company.

In a series of events which I'm sure none of you with 360s need recapped, I ended up with the dreaded Red Ring of Death. So here I am 3 sheets to the wind and spending my night on the phone with some lady in India trying to set up a repair order. At some point she told me she was going to email me a prepaid shipping label, which I have yet to receive. I'm thinking she is just unfamiliar with the process, and I should be getting a coffin sometime in the next couple of days. I've never heard of them just sending out an email with a shipping label.

I'm wondering if I should call them back and verify the email or just wait a few more days for the coffin. If anyone knows a time I can call them and get someone from the states, please leave a comment.
