To the person who put a Rick James album on my windshield...

This is great!

"Yesterday (9/11) I was running errands in downtown. I had a lot on my mind and was not having the best day ever. After returning to my car 15 minutes after the meter expired, I expected to find a parking ticket. But no, in place of a parking ticket was a Rick James vinyl... SCORE!

Who was responsible for this? Why Rick James? Were you aware that I have an unhealthy obsession with my record collection or was I just the random recipient of a generious gift?

Either way, to the person who bestowed upon me the newest addition to my collection- thank you. Thank you for making my day just a little more absurd. Thank you for making me smile. Thank you for taking my mind off work. But most of all, thank you for opening my ears to the musical masterpiece that is "Dance Wit' Me".

Tips for moving....

Having just recently completed a move, I thought it would be a good idea to put down some tips everyone needs to know for their next move.

1.) Anything you and your significant other say to each other during the moving process should be considered as null and void after the move is complete. In other words; no grudge holding, and no bringing it up a month later.

    Example:

    Me: "Damn, why in the HELL do you have so MUCH SHIT!?!?!?!"

   My wife: "Just pack it up, and shut up!"

   Me: "You don't ever use any of this crap! I'm going to start a bonfire in the backyard with this!"

   My wife: "If you ever want to get laid again or still have your dick attached to you in the morning, you BETTER NOT do anything to my stuff! I will go through all of it once we get
   unpacked!"

Guys, just a warning, but the "I will go through all of it later" crap, is just that, crap.

2.) If you have the money, hire a moving crew. Believe me, your back will thank you for it. And make sure you don't get roped into "driving the truck" for the move. Because if it's a 26foot or bigger truck, you have a governer. Which means you will be going slow. REAL SLOW.

3.) ALWAYS take the insurance offered for the rental truck. You might think the truck will be covered under your car insurance, but you better make sure to check. I avoided some bullshit from the rental company because I had taken their offer for insurance. So, it's worth the extra money.

4.) MAKE SURE to check out the street your house is on at night or check out your apartment complex at night. The lighting on your street, or for your apartment complex could be total shit. It's not good to walk your dog and feel like you might need to carry a tazer or .45. Checking on your place at night will also tell you a lot more about your neighbors. Of course, if they work they are gone during the day, and you have no way of knowing what kind of craziness goes on when they come home. If they don't work, might want to lock up your place like Fort Knox.

Everyone may have already seen these videos but they are worth another viewing. Thank God, I discovered this site. I remember the days of playing with total idiots like this kid. If I ever thought of talking back to my mom or dad, I would've been picking up my teeth off the floor. Good thing I had an older brother that tested the limits on my Mom and Dad. After seeing him get knocked upside the head a few times for smarting/mouthing off, I learned to keep my mouth shut. You can always say something after they leave the room! Anyway, somebody needs to beat this kid.

Another first.

Well, I said I would never play on XBL with all of those geeks. Now, I have been playing almost every night since May of 2006. Turns out quite a few of those supposed "geeks" are really good people to play and bullshit with. So, this is my first blog posting. EVER. I have always been of the opinion that anyone who has a blog either: A.) has too much time on their hands. or B.) are so pretentious as to think that people actually give a crap what they write about. I guess add me to that list of having too much time on my hands. Styx had a song about that. I know this is coming WAY late, but this will be my first official RANT.

When in the hell did Easter become brother to Christmas? Did Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny become blood brothers sometime in the past 10 years? Earlier this month ( around Easter duh!) I was in a store, when I overheard a woman basically bragging to the person who was checking her out about how her daughters Easter "budget" was around $400. $400!!?!?!?!!? WTF?!?!?!!? I know this is going to sound just like someone's grandpa telling them tales of REAL woe about the one time he had to eat sawdust for a week, but damn I NEVER got $4 much less $400 for Easter. I was so damn happy to get a chocolate(hollow) easter bunny and some real boiled eggs,that I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Getting an Easter basket for your kids with candy, etc. , and having the traditional Easter Egg hunt with your family is great. But, damn what in the hell do some of these kids have to look forward to? They don't have to work for anything. Mom and Dad will buy them whatever, whenever they want it. Any parent wants better for their son or daughter than they had. Building some kind of work ethic in your children should come first , before just giving them everything. Parents have just lost sight of what's best for the children. Instead, it has been replaced with the need to keep up with the Joneses and making sure little Timmy has everything he wants. Raising a well mannered child or any child for that matter is hard work . I know this, I have a 10 year old son. He wants to go to the movies, help Dad with the yard first. He wants the latest greatest game out, show me what you can do with your grades. Little things like this help. Anyway, end of rant. Time to go chainsaw some 2old4Duty(plug!) members.
