Why won't people: do research on their own and make decisions for themselves, instead of what the media tells them?

If you spend a night at my house: expect the cat to watch you from a distance after rubbing on your shoes and the dog to follow your every move hoping for a scratch behind the earrs.

I have a hard time understanding: the absolute and undisguised hate that people have for some of the current political figures and the need and glee that appears when some one is found to be not perfect. (Cast the first stone?)

Yes, I am very much ready to have the elections over. I am amazed at the fervor that some have shown in going after Palin. Is she perfect? No, but neither is Biden. Since when did it become a prerequisite that someone has to immerse themselves into the government at birth before they can become President (or VP)? I don't necessarily want a politician to represent me in Washington. Do I agree with everything each of them stands for? No, but it isn't picking the lesser of two evils, it is what will each bring to the office that will benefit me. Ok, off the soapbox.

A little about me...

1. My uncle once: owned a gold mine in Colorado

2.Never in my life: will I sing Karaoke.  You CAN'T get me drunk enough and believe me it's been tried.

3. When I was five: I lived in Cincinnati, Ohio.

4. High school was: excrutiatingly painful both literally and figuratively.  I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and my knees would swell to twice their normal size.

5. I will never forget: my first house, first horse, first tattoo, my wedding, the first horse show where I won a ribbon and learning to play video games.

Would you rather:

Always show up 20 minutes late for everything

or

Always show up 90 minutes early for everything?

This one threw me for a loop.  I had to read it again because my first thought was that I would rather be 20 minutes EARLY than late.  But, after rerreading and realizing it didn't say that, I had to really stop and think.  I hate being late.  I always try and be at least 5-10 minutes early for any appointment I have.  To me it is extremely rude to be late for anything.  Part of that goes back to high school when I would wait and wait for someone I thought was my friend to come and pick me up for an outing only to have them "forget" me.  Back then, there were no cell phones and when that person left their house, they were basically unreachable for the rest of the evening.  It was devastating to a young girl who was on the fringe of the "in" crowd. 

I was fortunate to have parents who were supportive and used the situation to encourage me to do the right thing and never be late so someone else doesn't have to feel that same way.  It is just good manners.  But, here lies the tear, I can't afford 90 minutes of my time for each appointment.  This is a no win situation for me.
