Gaming
My console gaming experience did not evolve as most did, it mutated.
My first console was one of the original Pong tennis machines. it hooked to the antenna screws on the tv, could play 4 games (selected via a toggle switch) and had 2 knobs (one for each player in 2 player mode). that was in the late 70s and it also died in the late 70s. My first pc game was worm on an Apple 2e in the mid 80s(also my first experience hacking, because I figured out how to hack the code for 99 lives.)
Then pretty much nothing for 20? years until I got the Xbox. And I was reluctant to buy that. My wife wanted to get a videogame so that we could play together like she and her little brother did growing up. After a bit of research, I aquiessed but chose the Xbox for graphics and power, since I am a techno-geek. My wife soon realized that she didnt really care for gaming after all. I on the other hand did quite enjoy a few games (halo hooked me) but soon I too grew bored, so tried live. I enjoyed playing with others but following the constant timmy-attacks on my nOObiness and suckiness, I decided to let my OXM subscription, and Live! account expire.
Hearing my desperation, OXM ran an article about a little website that had recently started up 2old2play it was called, so I thought I would check it out and give gaming one last chance. I joined a clan, but didnt really fit there either (they only wanted VERY active members, which I could not be, working 2 jobs at the time while the wife was in school.) Then one day, a fellow named Rockcrawler messaged me that he was starting a clan and invited me over, so I became part of the old man mafia and found a home.
My wife began saying I was an addict, and feared that I may need help, (which is odd as anyone who knows me knows I am almost never online.) After some extensive talks and soul searching, she has come to better understand my love for our community and the fact that this is more important to me than the games anyway. She has decided to hold off on the electro-shock therapy for now, and even occasionally plays a game.
I am now on my second xbox, first 360, and trying to get counterstrike to work on a 4 year old Dell that wasnt suitable for gaming 4 years ago. All because of this community. (is that good or bad?!?)
Thanks to Doodi, Smooth, Drewsky, and the rest of the crew.
Thanks to Rock and the Mafia.

PC pronouns
Thats politically correct not personal computer
When I went to school I was taught that masculine was generic when no gender was specified (and that a he/she was a tranny.) Now-a-days if you use "he" or "him" you are a sexist pig. I admit I am lazy, "he" is 2 letters and much easier to write than "he, she, or gender insecure" every time. I recognize that the male influence on out history has been unhealthy and repressive, and I dont think that it is getting any better but I also dont think that changing the pronouns in language is going to help.
Walgreens Pharmacy, for example, does a lot of in-house training via computer-based courses. I had to sit through several hours of the newest ones recently and every pronoun was she, her etc. Now if you want to get really specific, we all have a feminine side, biologically speaking, we all start as a female fetus, (until that Y chromosome causes the testosterone surge and fixes it
) bit I doubt that this is the reason for the pronoun change.
I know that society has issues and testosterone is probobly responsible for many, if not most, of them but I dont really think that the use of PC pronouns is going to fix the world.

OOPS!!!
How about a $115,000.00 OOPS!!!
And it’s all mine.
I am a 3rd year pharmacy student, in my LAST semester of classroom work before internship rotations and I failed the last class I needed to be finished. Of course, being a specialized graduate class it is only offered once a year… Salary $105 K per year. Tuition $10ish k per semester…
In my own defense, this year, they decided t raise the minimum requirements to 67% to get a passing grade (D.) I ended up with a 66%, any other course I would have passed with honors…
OOPS!!!
