I think this happened in the Toronto area but I'm not sure. A reporter from CityTV is covering the story of an eye doctor ripping people off by giving them counterfit frames. See what happens when the reporter confronts him.

A new job for the new year

Well this past year has been very rough for my family, I lost my job, 3 of my grandparents passed away in a 3 month period and just yesterday I get home from work and my wife tells me that my brother and his wife are getting divorced. So with all this negativity I really needed a boost. I applied for a promotion within the company I work for, I wasn't expecting to get it since I've only been working for this company for about 5 months. Well I found out that I got the job!! I start on Jan 2, 2007. It's better pay, I get my own office space, and no more shift work. 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday!!! WOOT!! I can't wait for the new year, merry Christmas everyone.

LCD issues - part 2

A few days ago I received my new Dell 20' widescreen LCD. I was excited to try it out my 360 sice I don't have an HDTV and I use my 360 in my home office anyway. Imagine my dissapointment when I discover the same problem I've been having with other monitors I've tried. Take a look:



The image is stretched vertically. I have tried every single widescreen resolution the 360 offers and I get the same problem. Does anyone have a solution to this? If not I guess I'll have to return yet another monitor. I have no idea why this won't work, computer LCDs are 16:9 just as HDTVs. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

More info: I am using the VGA adapter for the 360. The monitor does not do 1080 resolutions.

LCD issues

I purchased an LG 20' LCD monitor for my 360. Every widescreen 70p resolution I tried in resulted in a black bar on the right side of the screen. The only resolution that would work was 1280x1024 which is weird since that is not widecreen. So I returned the monitor. I don't need anything that does 1080i or p. I'm happy with 720p. I heard that people have had good luck with the Dell 20' monitor. I'm just curious as to why none of the resolution settings would fit the monitor? I'm using the VGA connection for the video. I just want something simple and cheap for my office to play my 360 on. Any advice?

day trading

Anyone here into day trading online? The reason I ask is that a friend of mine trades in futures online and has been doing quite well at it. He pays a lot of money for all the software and data feeds but the ammount he makes far surpases the costs. He has quite the set up. He bought an external Matrox box for his laptop which uses to run 3 monitors off of. He also has an older PC desktop that runs two more monitors off of. I've been taking lessons from him every morning for a few days now before I go to work to try and learn the tricks of the trade. One reason I decided to learn is that I know absolutely nothing about investing or the stock market. I want to learn how to make my money grow for now and far into the future. So far it's been very interesting, maybe in a few months I'll be brave enough to try it with real money instead of using the software in simulation mode.
