Going for a record
First, thanks to those of you that visited http://www.pureexpressionsphotography.com:80/portraits/movingmomentsand voted for my girls (Photo #1!)
So my wife, being as competitive as I am (in fact, probably more so) isn't satisfied with just winning. Now she wants to break the photographer's record for most votes (currently 1500). Cindy wants to try for 1600. She literally has people all over the world (for sure in Brazil, South Africa, and some European countries) voting in this thing.
Why am I mentioning it? Because she comes up and disturbs me in the middle of a good Audiosurf session ("Space Age Love Song" by Flock of Seagulls... nice way to start off the night) to beg me to get my "game forum friends" to get to votin'... so here I am asking.
Please help a guy out! She's driving me mad!

Aperture Science a subsidiary of Nintendo?
Picked up my pre-ordered Wii FIt last night... hey, any additional motion on my part is an improvement!!
(I'm definitely closer to the upper weight limit for the thing as plastered on the narrow side of the box than I want to be)Set up was a breeze, and the thing is actually pretty fun. My Mii kinda swelled up a little bit, though! But the thing that really got my attention was the little sweet voice that says "Step on...". If you step on the balance board quickly, you get "O.K.!". But a little slower, and you get "Ooh!". The damn thing sounds like the little sister of a Turret from Portal!!! Freaky! I actually found myself trying to find out how many phrases it actually uses. ("Step off..." sounds VERY "Portal-like"... kinda like "I see you...") I just hope that I don't do something that makes machine guns pop out of the thing!
Re: Wii Fit. I think I'm going to like it. My intentions (paving the way to hell since 1964!) are to get up a little bit earlier in the morning and get a little movement going. I really like the emphasis on balance. It certainly makes some simple exercises just a bit more involved. Turns out my balance is quite good... my "Wii Fit Age" is 39 (chronologically I'm 43!). Much better than my first "Wii Sports" age... 52! (since improved). Favorites so far are Ski Jumping, Hula Hoop, and the marble/table games.
Oh.. and thanks again for voting on my daughters' calendar picture contest (Vote for picture #1 here: http://www.pureexpressionsphotography.com/portraits/movingmoments)!

2Old2Wrestle...;(
It's weird...
Yes, it's fake. I've known that since I was 12... doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the hell out of it for 30+ years now. My first favorite was for Dick the Bruiser ('cause my dad liked him). Not quite normal for a young Indiana boy (at the time) to like pro-wresting... much less a "bad guy" (depending on when you watched, that is... they change around alot). But after my dad died and my mom got sick (early onset Alzheimers... waaaay before anyone had heard about it) I was moved to Concord, NC ('76). Soon I had a new fave... I'll give you three guesses, and the first two don't count.
I've watched and enjoyed Ric Flair for nearly 2/3 of my life now. I don't care what form of entertainment you're into... James Brown? Hardest working man in show business??!!? NOT EVEN CLOSE! Ric Flair would bleed ("the crimson mask!") to entertain the fans. He'd enfuriate thousands so that they'd cheer wildly for his opponent. He'd talk a blue streak that every kid I grew up with would try and imitate. He's just simply "The Man".
I could go on, but I won't... better to let him speak for himself. Here's a few of my favorites:

So long, Slick Ric!!! You'll always be the Man!

Eli's going to Disney! (but he'll have to wear a different helmet)
Saw the "I'm going to Disney World!" commercial w/Eli tonight during Deal or No Deal... the helmet that flies up at the end is a PATRIOTS helmet!! (We looped back & forth several times and slo-mo'ed and paused it... definitely a Pats helmet). Disney couldn't get Pixar to spring for two versions?!?!? As Nelson Muntz from The Simpsons would say - Ha! Ha!Good game (football-wise, that is). Giants' defense was unreal! Glad for the NFC!!!
