A Goal Completed!

Awhile back I set a goal for myself to knock out some Achievements, and obtain a 30 Skill Rank to get my "Star" lol. Well last night after about a WEEK of hitting the Team Slayer playlist pretty hard.. I accomplished my goal. A buddy of mine from Halo 2, has now decided that it's time to play Halo 3 more often. And well.. we linked up last night. I was at 25, having lost my last game Sunday afternoon and dropping back to 25. He began a 33. He quickly ranked up.. seeing as how he's a pretty good player, and we were winning. Prior to hooking up with him, I had hooked up with a guy that I met in MM who was trying for the same goal.. so the 3 of us played for a few hours.. and the next thing i know im sitting at 29, and stareing 30 in the face.

Well my boy needed a break, so while he was on break I chatted with some people online, then decided.. "WTF am I doing.. I could be in Lone Wolf trying to knock of some bull crap achievement lol. So sure enough.. I hit the lone wolf playlist for some mongoose venting. And BANG right off the bat.. Slayer on Isolation. Jumped on the mongoose... and headed straight for top middle in hopes of meeting an AR fight. Well.. wouldnt you all hate me knowing that 20 seconds into the game SMASH!!!! Two dudes.. happily AR'ing each other and I smack a dude in the back.. Hahahahahahah... ACHIEVEMENT!!!!

I start another LW game.. but my boy sends an invite right as its loading up the map.. so I go in.. just looking to stay sharp... it was on Pit...so i grab a sniper rifle and begin my "Crack" at a killing Frenzy.. which for the record guys.. I hadnt EVER gotten a Killing Frenzy in HALO 3 up until a week ago.. and now I have 6 total .. thanks for all the mentoring ive been getting.. its really starting to pay off. Anyways.. no achievements in this game.. however I did manage a 2nd place finish.

Back to Team Slayer....we had won 3 in a row prior to break time... First game back.. we lost.. by a few kills.. couldnt believe it.. the other team was carried by a guy with 22 Kills.. and we lost.. so I crossed my fingers.. and didnt lose my 29. Then we won  the next game.. and things were back on track... 3rd game after the break we won by a pretty good margin. and my buddy hit his 43 RANK(started at 33 I mind you) and I stayed on 29.. WTF??????

Next game.. ANOTHER WIN.. the guy I found in MM went from 27 to 28(started a 26 when I met up with him but the dudes got like 2000 games played on his tag lol) Anyways he gets his 28.. I stay at 29.. OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG.. I was getting scared....thinking it wasnt gonna let me rank up? Next game.. My boy from halo 2 says this is the last one.. he mom's harping on him for being up at 1 in the morning lol. Team BR's on Standoff.......GAME OVER.. straight powned these guys..I even got laser kills hahaha...game over back in lobby.. and that 10 seconds felt like about 10 minutes.. BUT BANG!!!!! THERE IT IS!!! 30!!!! Major Grade 2

So next on the list is to get to 35.. which should be a bit easier... seeing as how my Win % according to Halo.junk is at 52% now, and that doesnt count yesterdays games.. and I only lost 2 or 3 yesterday . Anyways.. 35 is in the air.. and im gonna take hold of it while im on a roll.. so look out guys..im no longer gonna be that lil biotch Captain in our parties anymore hahahahaha.

Achievements Left to Obtain:

The 9 Points Achievements for the Levels in Campain

6 MM Achievements(1 I can get in Campaign)

2 for One: The double Kill with a laser.. HOW you gonna do that in a Ranked FFA with no Hogs ?? hrmmmm

Steppin Razer: Triple with a sword.. BLAH!!

Killing Frenzy: Im the Sniper Rifle and PIT away from getting this one prolly.

Maybe next time buddy: I can do this in any FFA List so may go in rumble pit?? i dunno ive done it before its not hard lmao..

Overkill: need a KotH game but ppl always veto it

Where in for some Chop: I need to go in campaign and knock this one out..

A Graceful Update

A week or so ago I began my quest to obtain as many achievements as I could.. Well.. things are going well. In the first week I knocked out alot of the more simple Achievements on my own in campaign, and in Lone wolf. Recently Ive been working on beating the game on legendary with some freinds. KS, Krull, and me are working on beating it on legendary, KS has a new tag so he wants to beat it too .

Anyways while playing campaign with them this week I also knocked off the "Used Car Salesman" Achievement, and after we beat the 6th level "the Ark" on legendary it finally gave me my achievement for that, and beating the game on normal. We have 2 Level's left. Well atleast I do.. Cortana and Halo, and then ive beat the game on legandary.

So now.. where do I stand?? Well here's a list of what I have left to get:

Complete Campaign on Heroic/Legendary: Soon.. two more levels and I get both

Two For One: Get a double kill with a single shot from the Laser in a Ranked Free For All Playlist, I forsee this one taking me awhile.. as im currently working on obtaining my 30 in something.

Overkill: Almost had this one on a few occasions.. dont forsee it being a problem.. just gonna have to get lucky in a KoTH game or something.

We're in for some chop: Destroy an enemy vehicle with equipment in campaign or a ranked playlist. I'll get this one soon prolly.. even if i have to go in ranked BTB and use a landmine.

Killing Frenzy: Well I got my first ever Frenzy in a doubles game the other day.. bad news is you have to do it in Lone wolf

Steppin Razor: I've nicknamed this achievement the Puss Award.. seeing as how you have to get a triple kill with the chicken chit weapon sword

Mongoose Mowdown: Darn close a few times.. it'll happen.

Maybe Next time Buddy: i've done this several times in unranked games... i'll get it.

After that i just gotta get the points achievements for each level.. which i'll prolly start working on the easy ones soon.. shouldnt be a problem at all really just going in on Normal alone time to time and knocking off a level lol.....

So thats where im at.. 31 of 48 with several more in sight.... so i'll continue to work on those.. and update you with the latest happenings .. Also wish me luck on my quest for 30 rank.. so i can get my star.. after that.. the sights goto getting a 40...

Gridiron Goes Lone Wolf!!

After reading a recent blog by hubristic I decided that maybe it's time to hit the lone wolf playlist a little harder, and start trying for some achievements. Well I did, and almost immediatly I found myself getting a few, and relized that over that last few months I've gotten quite a bit better at Halo 3. I quit going to lone wolf for a long time, because really I wasnt as strong a player when alone. But now, after a few months of playing regularly, and hanging out with people im learning from, lone wolf feels alot easier. Im now up to level 11 in LW, started a 4 at the beggining of the week. Not a huge jump but its not like ive played alot of games in LW. Maybe 5 a day, and I consistanly find myself in the top 3, and winning much more often.

So, the achievements.. first off I just wanted to play some LW see what happend.. wasnt really trying off the bat for achievements, I wanted to gauge on my skill level, and see what to try for first . Anyways.. in my very first game in LW in prolly a month.. I got my Triple Kill Achievement. A few games later I decided to try for the Lee R Wilson Memorial(5 Sticks) Well this didnt go so well at first.. Seems like I just couldnt get on a map that had enough stickies.. or where I'd spawn close enough to a sticky to keep some in my pocket. So day 1(Monday) ended with getting my Triple Kill, and leveling up to 8.

Day 2 in LW(Wedensday), went fairly well. Leveled up a bit more, 8 to 10, I would also get my 5 Sticks Achiement fairly quick, in only the 3rd game I played, on Snowbound, I would get NINE sticks, well the 9th wasnt a stick but I got 9 kills with a plasma grenade, 8 Sticks, and 16 kills to get 2nd place. Most of the sticks were of the, RUN RIGHT AT YOU NATURE, however there are 2-3 very nice sticks that I got as well . The Video is in my File share if you would like to partake on a Sticky Frenzy lol. So, after getting what I feel is my most prized achievement so far, Lee R Wilson that is. I love sticking people, in fact when you see my file share I put up clips of ALOT of my sticks.. and im hoping to one day create a sticky-tage..so stay tuned for that. Either way.. I played a few more games.. not veteoing games like KoTH, and BALL.. in hopes that possibly such a game would allow me to get an Overkill. And It ALMOST happend.. in a game of KotH on Narrows.. but somehow my face shot on the 4th guy didnt kill him.. and I died , after watching the video had i just jumped.. his melee woulda got me late enough I'd have gotten the kill.. but oh well.. they'll be plenty more Objective games to get that

So, 2 Days in LW, 2 Achievements Gained... then in Day 3(Thurs), I wasnt in the mood for LW, however I went into Campaign mode, to level 6(since it never gave me the achievement for beating it, and STILL hasnt...wtf?) Anyways I got my head shot honcho, and in the few games I DID play in LW I got my level to a 11 or 12. So things are going well in LW for Gridiron... atleast for now.

As for a list of remaining Achievements.. it's still long but here's what I need!!

Refuge(6th Mission, shoulda had this TWICE)

Campaign on Normal,Heroic, and Legendary(should have this on normal but wtf? either way one day i'll beat it on legendary and get all 3)

Two For One(I suck with a laser but maybe i'll hit ranked big team and get lucky)

Too Close to the Sun(which mission can i do in campaign to get this???)

Overkill(almost had it.. not to worried with it.. its only a shotty and an objective game lol)

We're in for some chop(I hate equipment, so what do i do?? throw the degenerator in front of a mongoose? or a trip mine? something? lol)

Killing Frenzy(This is prolly gonna be the hardest for me.. FFA isnt my best gametype however, maybe i can get a good snipe spree)

Steppin Razor(hate the sword.. they made it almost worthless in H3.. i cant count the times i got this on H2.. but now having to run around with it in your hand makes it hard lol we'll see.. sword games are potent in the LW playlist)

Mongoose Mowdown(just getting lucky)

Used car salesman(once again ranked big team, or whats a good campaign level to get this?)

Maybe next time buddy(got it in social a few times.. just gonna have to let someone board me)

After all those.. all thats left is getting the POINTS on each mission in campaign.. which I have no clue how to get that many points.. havent really looked into doing it.. I have all the skulls, and Marathon Man.. in fact i can help with getting you both if you need it.. So.. reply to this, or send a PM if you have any suggestions on how to get some of these I still need... And i'll be keeping you posted on it..also.. prolly do another blog monday.. update on how my teams panning out..and talk some mlg

First Night in Halo Comp!!

Well my first "clan" night ever on halo was very enjoyable. I had a VERY bad day yesterday too. No sleep at all.. personal life problems really keeping me down lately etc etc. But last night playing some Halo with a great group of people helped a bit . I had a great time. Didnt really play to the best of my ability but I had fun, and look forward to doing it again, probably thursday night.

Met some cool new people...and it all kinda got spoiled by the wonderful world of XBL that kept kicking us all off hahahahha.. As it seems I prolly have a team for the Ladder too . We didnt get to do much because we hung out in parties due to the lag and connection problems.. but I had a blast and got to know the guys that are gonna be my teammates...or should be .

Oh and I dont think i'll ever forget the massive beatdown that my team recieved at the hands of some fellow clan members.. but it was all in good fun.. and had I been on top of my game.. maybe those matches woulda been closer.. but hey.. id rather play against the 4 best in the party... only makes ya better For a better look at this beatdown: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/GameStatsHalo3.aspx?gameid=460297845&player=GridironGrace
