Nothing Much

Still, thing much going on. I am still planning on making my DS holder platform (DS Stand) but it is on hold because I have to buy a new dremel. Currently, I am trying to put together $15 into my PayPal account to reactivate my WoW account, so I can start playing with the Helter Skelter Guild. So far I have reinstalled the game, got my Titan Panel and auctioneer plug-ins. Cant really think of any other plug-in that I used in the past. I look forward to playing on the Arm realm and playing on the alliance side of things.

 

My Mom uses Yahoo messenger to yak at me and we have been using the phone thing that comes with the service. Along with that she sent me a WebCam so she could see the wife and kids as well. So I got a free WebCam woot!. Its a simplistic webcam but has video recording options and I made a small test video. This video is made to test the limitations of what the camera can and can not do. I wanted to be able to take videos of the various DS games I have and what they look like. so here is the video I made.

 

I know the video isn't much, but it is just a test of what it can and can not do.

Well, Until I get my WoW account activated, there is not much else to say.

Taking a Stand

 

First off, life in Mecha is fine, Just need to sell all my turnips this week or I am out 200.000 bells.

I am starting a new project for my DS Phat. The Image to the left is of a DS Play Stand that can be swiveled for normal play or inverted for games like Brain Age. I have checked, and you can only get one from over seas, and I am not waiting on Ebay if there is one there. I don't want to have to pay import charges, and I think it would be a lot more interesting to build one my self. So I will build my own, and I will be using this blog here at the Great 2old2play.com to catalog my progress.

I want to use this blog as a building log for making this stand. Why do I need a stand? I play a lot of Sudoku, at my desk. I noticed that, after awhile my neck starts to hurt from having to constantly look straight down at the DS. Through this blog entry, you will notice some images of the DS Play stand that is currently being sold at a few places over seas. (Links at the bottom) I was able to get the correct ideas from this original stand idea but wanted to simplify the construction. Using Plexiglas, I will be able to make a large majority of the pieces needed.

 

Before I begin cutting up Plexiglas, and gluing my fingers together, I need an idea of how I am going to build this contraption. So I started up my Bryce, and stared making some shapes. From the picture you can see, I have a simplified version of what I want to build. Tomorrow I should be able to go and get the supplies I need, as I should have all the tools needed. Though out this series of blogs I will document my progress and hopefully have some sort of Supplies list and tools list and a price list of everything I used.

My Shameless plug

Im getting used to this Blog stuff and I made my introduction, so the only thing left is to show everyone what I do. I am a Mr. Mom, a home maker. I get to sit at home clean house and take care of my 5 year old. The same 5 year old that loves to play Kirby and a multitude of other video games.

My self, I am a creative gamer. What I mean by this, is that I like to game, and I like to create stuff. I got my first itch of this with Monster Truck Madness. With the ability of creating tracks, trucks, and custom textures with some what of an ease, I was hooked. With the game industry evolving so fast I could no longer create for games, per say, but have focused a lot of that energy in creating for the web. I have been involved with, and maintain a few websites on the net. I helped design the layout and the images for www.dangerousairports.og. Helped keep a community together by creating www.chickenbucket.com. I have created and maintain my personal web sites, www.matrixlair.com and www.realmofillusion.com. the Matrixlair.com site used to have all of my game creations and what not but have lost all of that and I am slowly getting things back together there. With Realm of Illusion, I put all my Graphic art there. I am a free lance graphic artist. I have no formal training and do mostly logos or something that has to deal with text. I also dab a little into Bryce be cause of its easy of use.

I thought it might be fun to add a little bit of a blog in side of a blog. So I will be calling it "My Animal Crossing Blog" and give some updates and news on whats going on. From time to time I will try to provide some pictures of the game. Most of the pictures will not be that great of quality until I get a DS Lite. A DS Lite takes much better pictures then the original. The "My Animal Crossing Blog" can also serve as an idea of what the game is like for those that have a DS but do not have the game.

Recently, I had just applied to be a DS news editor for for Advanced Media Network. (http://advancedmn.com/) If I get the job, Hopefully I could be able to contribute something to 2old2play.com with that type of position, with in the limits of any contract I may have to sign.
I look forward to becoming a news editor for the DS, for any outfit, but I am realistic in my chances, as I have really never done it profesionally.
At this point, it never hurts to try.

Speaking of DS news. Nothing is going on! It is Definitely a gamers summer. As with most years of gaming the summer is the calm before the storm. Come this September, there will be loads of news and information to be be written. Game and console information will be released. Games of all genres and platforms will be released and will no doubly need to be reviewed. I think the most notable is the September release of Final Fantasy III. With just the teaser trailer being the only viewable idea of the game, and a few screen shots. It still leaves a lot to be answered. Some sites say October for the release but a majority of the top gaming sites all say September. The only real new fo the DS was released Friday. It was a press release about the Nintendo DS (No lite) and the Nintendo DS Lite Both out doing PSP sales in Japan. So, the Nintendo DS ousted the PSP twice in one selling chart. This makes me believe that its not just about the console, but about the games for it.

Life In Mecha

This is the life in Mecha. A little town in the world of Animal Crossing. Life here is going great so far.
My Little guy name after me, GyverX, seems to be doing good. With a little help from friends I have met over the net I have been given a royal crown, and after visiting a friend last night I bought a new techno style visor. So now he looks like a cyborg or something along those lines. Since I have played I have been give Pears, Cherries, Coconuts, and something else I can remember. But those trees should be baring fruit like the apple trees any time now. Once they have I will be able to start growing more of those in a few day and I should have a forest of sellable fruit. SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!

My Introduction

So, Here I am. I guess I should Introduce myself, My name is Jason, AKA GyverX. The Thing I like most about this name is that, if you Google "GyverX", its all me. GyverX is a name I came up with after watching an anime movie called "The Guyver: Biobooster Armor". I knew that "Guyver" would of been taken all over the net so I choose to go with GyverX and omit the "U". So far it has worked for 7 years. That is why the Google search has so much on my name.

I am into all kinds of things. Most Recently I have really been into Animal Crossing for the DS. Yes I have a few other games and a few WiFi games, but it seems Animal Crossing has a lot of entertainment value right now and I find my self checking every few hours to see whats new and what sort of things await me inside. Then there is also the WiFi aspect, but I wont go into that right now.

Its almost golf season for me again and Tiger Woods 07 from EA looks to be coming out in November, and I need to get my Practice on. This means I need to reinstall my Tiger Woods 06 soon. I enjoy the challenge of golf, Although I have never played a real game in my life time, I really enjoy being able to sit at my desk and play when ever the time strikes me. I really look forward to playing some of you here at 2old2play and hope to get my butt handed to me. In fact, I think I can guarantee that!

Because of My interests, I have been floating around the internet looking for a place to call home. 2old2play seems to have a lot to offer with most of my interests, with out having to deal with the brats in our society. I have been evolved in a lot of things over the years and glad to be a part of a couple of great communities, I hope to be able to be a good contributor to this site as I have to others. In time I hope to be able to call this my internet home
