I remember the last time I went fishing with my step father as a young boy. Waking up at four in the morning, loading up the boat with a case of Schmitt beer for the man my mom called her husband, and a canteen of Kool-aid for myself. Sitting on horseshoe lake in northern Minnesota for 12 hours, as my step-father finished off his case of beer so we could then head back to shore and set up camp for the night.

Step- dad would toss me the fish to be cleaned, while he headed off to the local store to pick up another case of beer and leave me there all all alone.

The next morning, when the park ranger arrived on the scene to investigate just how my step father had been eaten by a bear, he just scratched his head and asked me....."Just how did those fish guts end up in his sleeping bag?"

The Curmudgen Grudge

While I realize there is a recruiting thread the clan forums for our little place in the 2old2play.com universe, I feel the need to thank Bear96 for creating this nice little environment for those of us who can't commit to game play all the time.

Bear started this clan back in July of 2006 at back then we got a few takers but not much had been going on. At that time I had created GSN for the sport gamer....it became to much for me to soon. It was then that I realized that I didn't have what it took to be involved in a commited clan of any kind....not becuase of members, but because of family and other real life issues that creep into all of our lives from time to time.

Over the past few weeks, The Grudge has seen a nice little growth within it's membership. More and more parents and grandparents are finding us and with any luck, more will fill the ranks soon.

Thanks you Bear for having a great idea for a clan and not giving up on it when things went slow.

The boys diagnostic assessment...

Some of you who've read my previous entries regarding my youngest boy are well aware of some of the issues we've had here in the home when dealing with his Aspergers Disorder.

I've recently recieved his official assessment and let me tell you...I'm confussed more now than ever before.

Is there a Dr in the house? Damn, if I had to go over everything that is listed in this assessment I'ld be here forever...thank god we go back to the Dr on Tuesday.

I love my boy very much...he's really a good kid. I guess the hardest thing for a parent is to look at a child and wonder what we could have done to spot things earlier in life.For now the hardest thing for me to do is to acknowlege the fact that it's looking more and more as if I need to file for disabilty for the boy.

Me think it's finally time to join up with other parents of Asperger children. I want to thank my wife, who is not the mother of my kids, for all of her support,love and understanding, when it comes to my kids..I love ya Deb...you've helped me get thru this more than you'll ever know. I thought that after raising my boys alone for 13 years, I'ld never be able to find anyone willing to stand by my side...and you've been there with me from the day we met.

The day before Easter

So here we are, one day before Easter and two days before the wife turns 48....needless to say our home will be filled with complete chaos. I say this because quite simply put....this is how it works in my world.

The wife is planning on where we need to put the kids...she don't want to know my idea on this subject, believe me.

As with any family gathering there is sure to be turmoil and madness, this is something I've come to expect.

My mother will nag in her own special way of nagging, that the meal we plan on serving is not diebetic friendly. Dear lord mom, just eat something! It's not as if your situation requires you to take a shot two or three times a day! It's managable by diet and diet alone in your situation! I guess all is not lost...more peeps for me!

My mother in-law will be loud as always, wondering why the great grandkids are afraid of her....maybe if she didn't scream at the top of her lungs inbetween breaths from her oxygen hose. Which by the way works better if you actually inhale thru the nose where it might actually work as it is was intended.

The wifes youngest daughter....the devil who wishes she wore prada, is pissed off at the family because we all have issues with her moronic, abusive loser of a boyfriend....as with every other easter/birthday event in this house, she will be sure to try and ruin it for everyone in her own special way....because she's not the center of attention.

My oldest son is having issues with the car we got back from the prada princess...the door key was missing and the power locks keep locking up on the boy. Last night we got ripped off big time when a locksmith came to f*&% us in the ass...let me tell ya it hurt real bad. The princess told us she would bring over the door key earlier in the day...never happened. But once we recovered from our sore asses guess what I found in the glove box? No it wasn't ky gel...it was the door key!

And to top off everything off, I've just learned not but 15 minutes ago, that my wife is going to pick up 2 of the grandkids so she can watch them for a few hours while her daughter makes a birthday cake.

Did I say so she can watch the kids? Lets think about that line for a minute shall we....oh it's gonna be a fun day. I think I'm gonna fill the plastic easter eggs the wife plans on hiding in the yard with dog poo....now that will be a treat!

Spring break has not been much of a break in this house...thank god I go back to work on monday

Return from the dead

My first real venture into Halo 2 turned out just as I predicted....man was it ugly!

The guys and gals who allowed me into their world went above and beyond what other gamers would do when a total noob enters the world of Halo. Assault on Relic was fun....deadly for me but fun non the less.

Slayer had me confussed, so I just ran around and tried to kill anything that was blue before they killed me...ha ha ha. I will say that for a noob I'm pretty proud of my killing spree of three, even though I only had a total kill count of 4 by match end..

What really matters for me after having played last night was this...the members of our 2old2play community really do make gaming on live fun. I wish thank mr sleestack and all members of 2o2pwn for inviting me into the games last night.

Tonight I shall die...numerous times

Tonight I actually will venture full bore into the world of Halo 2, thanks to a recruitment ad from 2old2pwn. I know for a fact that I will die....over and over again. I've only ventured online with this game once since having my 360...my youngest boy watched as I got my ass handed to me again and again.

"Dad, want me to play for you so you don't look so bad?" he asked me with a shit eating grin on his face.

I played for all but 10 minutes before logging off in disgust...at myself and the timmies I was playing with. My intro to Halo 2 was forever tainted in my mind.

So here I am....soon to be 42 and getting set to play the game again. Sure I know I'll die numerous times tonight, but at least I'll die knowing that those who are going to be fragging me are decent enough folk who will at least give me a chance to learn the game.

I'll post about tonight outcome friday morning...wish me luck.

A blast from the past...ok, a year or so ago anyway.

The photo below was at first meant to be in fun....little did I know back then when this was created did I realize just how true the "Lesters Nightmare" caption would be. Since the birth of my grandson, who is now14 months old, that girl below has really put this family thru the ringer!

Our latest go round is something like this....

Her mother and I give her a car valued at or around 3 grand (we got a deal on this one)...for graduation...she don't graduate.
The step-daughter and her boyfriend move out...taking the car with them.
Car is in great shape...no body damage.
Flash forward 8 months and they want to sell the car to my son for 1 grand.
He pays for 300.00 for engine repairs needed to make that car run.
We get title back on that car.
She thinks we're being unfair...she should get at least 500.00 for car
estimated value of body damage on car is almost 2 grand

I say we're even

Spring break for Ziggs

Driving a school bus has it's perks thats for sure. The fact that I pro-rate for the entire year allows me to take the summer off if I choose....and still get that bi-monthly paycheck. When I do opt to drive durring the summer months thats just extra cash for the games that I need to buy.

But this entry is about spring break....and I'm already wanting to get the hell back to work!

For many, a break is just that...a fricking break! But not in this house....here are just a few examples of what I speak of:

My 16 year old is also on break...nuff said on that one
Family that not living here, been living here ,so it seems since friday
Youngest grandkid had eye infection last night while visiting
I woke up this morning unable to open left eye....see grandkid above
Mother in-law thinks volume on tv should be at highest decible rate possible
Wife has plans for a Viva Pinata marathon of sorts...on my 360
Step-daughter thinks my oldest son should pay her 1000.00 for a 3000.00 car that the wife and I gave her to use...we're not being fair she thinks.
Step-daughters boyfriend not in jail
Oldest sons ex-girlfriend stopped by after a three month blessed disapearance...and wouldn't leave
My wifes bus assistant thinks coming over for a visit means 10 hours of us entertaining her.

And it's not even Monday yet! This is gonna be a long week my friends....now where did I put those meds?

High School, My son and Aspergers syndrome

So last friday my 16 year old gets suspended from school for fighting. My gentle giant who stands almost 6'8 let loose on another student who suffers from short boy syndrome....apparently thinking my son would just take all the name calling. When this other kid called my son a retard he snapped.

5th degree assualt and 3 day suspension.

When I picked the boy up from school on friday he was crying, thinking I was gonna be upset with him....I wasn't. I knew this time was coming.

My son suffers from both adhd and aspergers syndrome...a form of autism if you will.

Well, we're off to our so called "your a bad boy meeting" at his high school. I'm feeling as if I'm gonna go off on the staff this morning (Jikado from this site knows this is something that don't happen much if at all). Wish me luck.

So the wifes calls from work...

The wife calls home during her morning break to tell me she really, really loves me. I said I know. She then goes on and on about how much she really, really loves me again and again.

Ok, I get it...she loves me....but what the hell brings this up out of the blue?

Well, it turns out that on Sunday we went to Pawn America to visit Arron, our maybe future son in-law/gaming geek of geeks, just to see how he's liking his new job. Deb happens to walk past the ring section and spots a wedding ring that she wants due to the fact that the one I bought her ended up being a piece of shit....hey, I'm a guy, I honestly didn't know she was alergic to plastic!

We paid 250.00 for the ring and she was happy. She just got it appraised this morning and it turns out it is valued at 1,900.00.

Ok, she loves me...now with that being said, she had best love me enough to let me hop on a train for Chicago come August 10th thru the 12th.
