My Husband the Hero!!!

Last night I got a call from Nashu just after he left for work. He started nights this week and has to be at work by 11:00pm. Since we live so far out, he has to leave by 10:00pm to get to work on time. He stopped in at the 7-11 to get a cup of coffee on his way in. He pulled in next to a Black F150 pick up. Late Model with dark tinted windows. Normally this isn't a big deal but Nashu noticed that the fender appeared to have a bullet hole in the front quater panel of the truck and the truck was running. He tried to look inside to see if anyone was in it, but he couldn't tell since the windows were so dark. He has this "sixth sense" about bad karma stuff. It's weird. So he went inside, greeted the cashier... who normally is very talkative to him, but wasn't for some strange reason. He proceeded to get his coffee and get back in the car. He backed up to the pumps and watched the truck for another 10-15 minutes by which no one got in or out. Being the intuitive person he is, he wrote down the license plate, make and model of the truck. He pulled to the resturant parking lot next door... camoflage by the bushes and he watched for another few minutes as he called 911 to report a suspicous vehicle. When he noticed the police making the corner... the truck pulled out of the parking lot and took off like a bat out of hell!! There were two police cars, one went in hot pursuit of the truck east bound into the city (the way Nashu goes to work) the other came over and talked to Nashu while he was on the phone with the 911 operator. The officer asked him what about the truck made him suspicous... he said he couldn't put his finger on it, but he just had a feeling. And his feelings are not usually far off. He described the situation and gave his information to the officier and then he left.

About 15 minutes later I got another phone call that said the police had the truck pulled over in grapevine... 3 cities from where he started and they were pulling the guy out at gun point. He said he wasn't sure but he felt that he may have prevented a robbery. That statement was also made by the officer that spoke to him as well.

To my knowledge, the police haven't contacted him for anything thus far... but I feel even if nothing came of it, he helped to prevent a crime. I can honestly say that he is my hero! I heart you, Nashu! You are and always will be my hero!!

To Tell or Not to Tell...

Ok... Well here is the background for this. My husband has known this guy since they were in Jr High together. They were never good friends.  Matter of fact, they only hung around each other because of mutal friends. Now, his wife is very good friends with my best friend. (Kind of strange how things come full circle)  My husband no longer hangs out with the same friends, so he doesn't really talk to this guy except when us girls plan something.

Ok, there is the background. Here is my question.

My bestfriend witnessed his wife messing around (in public) with another man while they were out of town together. It was a group of friends that went to the river for the weekend to go tubing and camping. No her husband was not there and yes, I fully believe what my friend has told me. As she began to tell me what she saw, I asked her to tell me no more. I didn't want to know who it was... what they were doing.... any details. Because I would then feel obligated to then say something to my husband, who could possibly say something to this guy.

So, I decided to tell my husband what I knew. But the real question is, we will be seeing them at my friend's birthday party tomorrow night... should we mention that we think something is a little odd or ignore it? I have gotten a few comments so far, but am curious what the concensus is.

What do you think? Tell or not to tell.

Do your dogs have gas?

We have recently decided to start letting our dogs in the house again. We have a Fila and a Pit Bull. The Fila (Suerte) is Nashu's dog and the Pit Bull (Chaney) is my dog. We adopted these dogs as a family but they have chosen who they belong to. As I was sitting here reading the blogs and feedng Brooklyn, Chaney let out a SBD (silent but deadly) fart. As my nose began to wrinkle with the horrible smell, my eyes began to water. And then I think to myself, WHAT IN THE HELL HAS SHE BEEN EATING? The dogs normally get a bowl with some dog food and a couple chicken quarters. But since we live out in the country, there are plenty of mice, rabbits and birds for her to hunt. She is a great hunter... and leaves little gifts for us every once in a while at the door. But this odor would be one that would knock the flys off a garabe truck from a thousand paces. I mean it was the worst smell known to man! And just when I thought the smell was close to disapating and we could actually breathe, she let out another. As I gasp for air, I try to ask her if she needed to go outside to potty and all I could get out was " PO -- TTY" Cough, cough. I opened the door and she went right out.

Even though she is outside right now, I can still smell her. This is a smell that could gag a maggot! Geez. Not one that I will subject anyone to when they come to our house for the LAN... You are all safe! They will be outside.

And just for the record... As with ANY animal, our children are not in the room alone with the dogs. They are under constant supervision. We have no concerns that our Pit Bull will hurt our children. She is a sweet heart. I know you have heard stories, however dogs react to their environment and our dog was brought up well and loved. She is not an aggressive dog... she does protect the family.

Are they Identical?

I want you to keep this in mind... the word "identical" means EXACTLY THE SAME.

Now I realize that when I take my children with me, I create a specticle. Not only for having twins and a toddler, but for taking then with me by myself. These are some of the questions that I get and I have to wonder, "what are they thinking"? So here is how the conversation usually pans out...

Other person: " Oh... how old is your baby?" Me: "THEY... are four months old." Other person: " Oh my god... you have twins!!!" Me: " yeah...(thinking duh)" Other person: "Do you have boys or girls?" Me: " a boy and a girl" Other person: " are they identical?" Me: (giving a look like a dog would to a funny noise head turned sideways and confused look on my face) "I have a BOY AND A GIRL!!!" Other person: (slightly confused look) "So are they identical?" Me: (frustrated) "No, identical means exactly the same in every way shape and form... genetically they would have to be the same sex." Other person: "I see... that must be hard. How do you do it?" Me: I take them out of the closet for a few hours each day only to let them eat and then I move them to the dog kennels where they sleep." Other person: (hopefully realizing I am being a smart ass...) "Hah Hah... You have your hands full. How fo you do it?" Me: "Oh, no! I think I could handle a couple more!" Other person: (surely realizing now that I am being a smart ass) " I don't know that I could do that. I think that would be too hard." Me: "well, you either step up or you don't. I have to finish my shopping now... thanks for stopping."

I don't mind showing off my children as I think they are very adorable. However, when I am doing my grocery shopping by myself, (and it usually take a couple hours including driving time) I have a very limited time that I can do it without the babies waking up to eat. They eat every 3-4 hours and I am trying to accomplish this before they wake up to eat again. You know unload the kids, put one in a pouch on my chest another in the car seat that goes in the seat portion of the cart and Samantha in the basket. Or I take the stroller and put Samantha in the seat of the cart and then I have a train. This already is a very daunting task only to have someone stop you. I don't recall getting stopped as much when Samantha was the only one I had... however now that I have them all, I guess I notice it more and feel obligated to stop and listen to their banter. More often then not I hear, so and so (either in their family or someone they know) has twins or triplets. I think to myself, so you've seen theirs why must you stop me. I'm on a schedule and need to get this done before they wake up to eat... because if they happen to wake up to eat while I am in the parking lot loading up, I won't be able to leave that parking lot for another 30 minutes to an hour as I can only feed one baby at a time. Where as I could double fist it if I were at home. So I smile and say politely " nice talking with you" and continue on after I hear their story. And then continue to shop... I may get stopped 2-4 more times after that and each time take anywhere from 5 mintues to 15 minutes. And if I get stopped 4 times at 15 minutes each time I am now an hour behind and are sure to have to feed the babies in the parking lot.
