National Geographic Goes Blu-ray Exclusive

  National Geographic has confirmed that they will only be releasing high definition titles on the Blu-ray format. The decision to go format exclusive comes after Warner Brothers, the company which distributes their content, decided to go Blu-ray exclusive earlier this month. While no official press release will be issued on the subject by National Geographic, all future releases will fall under this new policy.

The first title to fall under this new policy will be the April release of 'Sharkwater' which should get officially announced soon. National Geographic is the latest studio to switch to Blu-ray exclusivity, and the third to do so under the Warner umbrella (joining ranks with New Line and HBO). The only Warner holdout left is BBC, who remains format neutral and will continue to release on both formats.

The only National Geographic high definition release thus far has been 'Relentless Enemies', which was released almost a year ago. Hopefully, with the format war finally ending, we'll see more content from the legendary company.

Wind + Soggy Ground = Trees falling over

Well in my case.  The tree landed on my house.  Last night the winds were up around 55 mph.  Almost felt like I was in a hurricane.  Then about 1:00 AM I heard the loudest thud on the roof of the house that I have ever heard.  Quickly after that the entire house shook .  I almost felt like I was back in Los Angeles.  Stuff went flying off the walls, kids freaking out.  Fun stuff.  I pretty much had a good idea of what happened, but had no idea what the extent of the damage was.  I looked out the window, with no lights I could not see anything.  I suited up for a -1 degree wind chill and looked out back and lo-and-behold what did I see?









Isn't that crazy?  The bedroom that it landed above is mine and if that roof didn't hold up.. well.  Lets just say typing wouldn't have been so easy today. 

I'm so thankful that it wasn't worse.  Still a jaw dropping experience for me!  Especially when everyone, even the house made out OK!

Truck Nutz

Note: This blog post is NOT NSFW but clicking the link MAY BE!!  So for your protection, and mine, I have tagged this NSFW. 

Just when you think you've heard and/or seen everything..  I was listening to the radio this morning on my slow snowing slippery drive into work and heard the guys on the radio talking about 'Truck Nutz'.  Maybe I'm behind the times but I have never heard of these before.  They go on to explain how these 'nutz' are for the hitch of a pick-up truck trailer hitch/receiver.  Oh now I get it.  Ok, imagination took over and that's all I needed to hear.  So I get to work and lo and behold there's several websites selling.. you guessed it.. 'Truck Nutz' in various colors, shapes and, yes, sizes.   Apparently right now they are trying to BAN them in some states.  Well since I have kids I'm not planning on getting any of these novelties but sure as hell thought it was funny.  Heck I thought it was funny when I saw a boat propeller on the truck hitch.

This is not a plug for a specific site for them to make money.  I'm simply providing a site that I googled just so you don't have to..
