Coffee shop or Bar?

So here is the question of the day:

We are wanting to open our own business. We have thought about doing a Wifi-coffee shop for a while. I have also thought about opening a Martini Bar for more high end clients. Still have to research the start-up costs and locations a bit more though. Both would do well with the right marketing. I think the bar would yield more cash flow than the coffee shop would. Staff expense would be less in the bar than it would a coffee shop. So I am still in the research stages. Gunz and myself don't mind working a lot, but damn if you are going to work 12-14 hr days, why not let it be for yourself.

What do you think? If anyone out there has owned either, feedback would be welcome.

LAN Madness

Well I have to say that we had a blast at the EC Lan. Got to meet a great group of people in person for the first time. Lots of great gaming and socializing. I will get more pictures up once the connection gets better. I think we strained it some. The Wheezin Geezers were there in force to represent! The WoW corner was full and very active and the hard core all night gamers. You have to love 1-2 hour power naps.

Everyone was really great. Thanks Em for organizing this shin-dig. Had a blast. Happy Birthday!!!!! A special shout out to the lady gamers: Retro, Maly , Em and Pearly..It was good to see the ladies representing. I got my first full night of sleep last night since Friday morning.

Can't wait until the Chi-town LAN. Hope to see you all there.

Can't wait for the ECL

I am very excited about the upcoming East Coast Lan. It is going to be a shit load of fun. I am looking forward to meeting everyone there and of course some good relaxation. I can hardly wait to get a real Philly Cheesesteak. We have made plans to extend the time in Philly from Thursday through Tuesday. That will be a nice little vacation from the everyday roles of work.

With my recent family issues and WoW addiction, my 360 has been neglected. I better dust it off and get some game play in before we go, or I will be playing like a noob. (Not that I was that great at Halo2) Hey if nothing else I made a good target.

These past 2 months have been very difficult with m mom being ill. It has been a very stressful time. So now that she is doing better, I am looking forward to the some down time for me. What better way than meet up with a bunch of friends and party all weekend long. Hope to see you all there.

Christmas lists and shopping

It is that time of year again. I have not started the shopping as of yet. I am usually done by now, but been too busy with work, social events and the damn flu to even get started. I have the what everyone wants lists all put together but just haven't gone to the store yet. Hell who am I kidding, I don't even have the tree up yet. Now the same deal all the previous years. Everyone is asking for a list from me and I have no clue what I want.

Any suggestions?

Grounded

I am out of work today and to be working from home. My boss calls me and asked how I was doing. She told me that she new I have been way too stressd out lately and needed a vacation. So today I got grounded from work. She told me I am out for the rest of the week. I am not allowed back until Monday. Now this is very hard for me because I am a workaholic big time. My boss told the staff at my office that none of them are to call me at all. All calls are being directed to her. I guess she knew I really needed the time off. So I guess I am grounded from work.

The Move is over!!!

Well, we have completed the move to the new place. No more hearing the upstairs neighbors!!! We have a great townhouse with a killer lake view. We hired movers to move everything for us. However, of course after they leave I decide to move things around. Oh well, besides being extremely sore and tired from moving all the little things, I was too tired to game Friday night. I know this is totally bad of me, but a hot bath and bed just sounded more inviting.

However, we have a new addition to the family of gaming. We decided Friday to get a new TV. We were going to go LCD then we looked at Plasma.....needless to say mommy liked the plasma better. So that is what we bought. What do you think of the new set-up?

The queen and the princess

This is not meant to offend anyone as this was sent to me by one of my friends that is gay.

My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks. As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us that Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super.

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground.

She calmly turned her head and said, In my country, I am called a Princess
and I take orders from no one, to which the flight attendant replied…, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up, Bitch!

Life change

Okay so the past two weeks have been very busy and hectic. My work has pulled me to go fix problems at another property. I spent most of the last two weeks there. I have to go back to the property this week for a few days. I have a new employee starting and looking to replace another one that is leaving at the end of the month. I am trying to hire new staff , train the new staff and deal with the other property 2 hours away all at the same time.

We are moving in 20 days to Tampa. We decided not to get the house we were going to buy. Instead we are moving to a townhouse at another property that my company owns. Got to get the movers lined up and things all packed. I am going through all the stuff we have collected over the years and getting rid of it. I should have a garage sale, but this would cut into the late night gaming time on the weekends and I just can't have that! So I need to call some place to donate all the stuff. The only things I will try to sell will be all the original Star Trek stuff we have had since my hubby was a kid. I am probably just going to place an ad to get rid of it. Tired of having boxes of collectables just sitting in storage. I would put it all on Ebay but, it would take too much time to do all that.

In between all of the work stuff and the move, my hubby's 18 year old cousin just moved down here with us to go to school at FMU. So we had to get her all set up for that. Needed to get her a computer for school and a TV for her room. I gave her my TV and got my new LCD HDTV. The picture is unreal and the resolution is outstanding. Got to teach her how to drive, get her a drivers license and a car so she can get back and forth to school. Her parents sent her down with no money and can't help her with college tuition, so we will help her out.

On the lighter side, got to shop for new furniture for the new place. The living room is much larger and we are going to get a sectional. Got to get a dining room set since there are three of us now. Got to get a new grill, because we can actually have one there. (Not against fire code)

Oh well, that it all for now. Just thought I would share the fun.

The truth about women

This is compliments of my mother-in-law:

FBI Job Opening
The FBI had an opening for an assassin. After all the background checks,
interviews and testing were done, there were 3 finalists...Two men and a woman.

For the final test, the FBI agents took one of the men to a large metal door
and handed him a gun.

"We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair...Kill Her!!!"

The man said, "You can't be serious. I could never shoot my wife."

The agent said, "Then you're not the right man for this job. Take your wife
and go home."

The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went
into the room.
All was quiet for about 5 minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, "I tried, but I can't kill my wife."
The agent said, "You don't have what it takes. Take your wife and go home."

Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions, to
kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were
heard,one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls...

After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood
the woman, wiping the sweat from her brow.
"This gun is loaded with blanks" she said. "I had to beat him to death with
the chair."

MORAL:
Women are evil.
Don't mess with them!

Change of plans

Well after several set backs with the broker not doing her job correctly and the mortgage company having their thumbs up their asses, we have decided not to buy the house. We have already missed 3 closing dates and because the broker mid-stream decided to go FHA still did not have us locked in at a percentage rate. Several of our friends and co-workers all told us the same thing, too many RED FLAGS! Time to bail out on this one. Now that their is a tropical depression in the Atlantic, homeowners rate have just jumped again and possibly would not even be allowed to be written.

Besides we get free rent because I am in property management. The reason we wanted to move is because we live where I work. However, we have other properties in the Tampa area and we would still get free rent. The community we would move to has larger floor plans and of course townhouses. That would mean no upstairs neighbors.

So here is the poll of the day: Free rent - VS -$1300 mortgage? My vote free rent and bank roll the money that would have been the mortgage payment. Here I thought my heart was set on buying this house. However, after thinking about what everyone said to me today about the red flags, I am so much more less stressed than I have been since we started this whole thing.

SInce we are not going to buy the house I am going to buy my 42in" plasma damn it!

TGIF and all that BS : )

Thank god Friday again. This means I can stay up as late as I want and game. (Not like I dont anyway) I was up until 2:00am playing UNO-crack and of course had ponage. Friday night are reserved for pizza and brownies from our regular place, consuming mass amouts of alcohol and gaming. Although last night game in Halo2 with F1R3, JT,MeeMoos,Gunz and Cap was great. I am really sorry that the timmie who was talking so much crap in pregame set-up jumped out at the last minute. I was really hoping to make the little bastard cry. I think the comments finally got to him. Although we should all be waiting to get a nasty email from his mommy that we hurt his little feelings. ( awe TO BAD!!!)

Count down to the closing

Well the count down is on until we close. We signed the contract with the mortgage broker today. ( I have writers cramp) If I dont have to sign anything again for the next 5 years I would be good. The close can not come soon enough. The little kid above us makes me crazy with his shreaking at the top of his little precious lungs. (Grrrrr) It is worst than a thousand finger nails running down a chalk board. I will keep you all updated. I know to some this is no big deal. But for GUNZ and I it is our first house and we are very excited.

Got the house!

So we signed the contract yestarday on the new house. ;; We are so excited. ;; This is our first house and we can not wait. ;; The down side is we will actually have to start paying for where we live. (Property manangers dont pay rent.) ;; The good this are huge back yard for the dogs and plenty of room for a hot tub! ;; I wonder if we can angle it so I can see the TV (need to be able to game at the same time ;; : )

We are set to close on the 7th of July or before. ;; We are waiting on the paperwork to sign today. ;; When we do get move we will have to throw a Halo2 house warming party. ;; (Much drink will occur...This I know! ) ;; It is still back to the same question though, who should get the larger game room? ;; I think I should, but Gunz thinks he should. ;; I cant wait though. ;; If I have to get the smaller room, I will just make him get me a flat screen 42" so it wont be too bad! : )

I will keep everyone updated on the status. ;; Sorry we did not make it on last night. We looking at stuff we are going to need for the house.

Gaming for stress relief

I am a 34 yr old that works way too much. I started game a while back and then stopped for a while. I have gotten back in due to the 360. I am so addicted to the arcade games and have picked back up on Halo2.

My Hubby and I both play. On any given night you can here the Halo terrets. My two dogs are Lab mixes. They dont like the F word. They get all upset and try to knock the controller out of our hands. We are just getting ready to buy a house. The big question is who gets the larger game room. : )

Biggest hang up is smoking. Things I hate - Timmies that are annoying, and people jumping around too much when I am trying to kill them. ; )" Hold still while I kill you!"
