Just can't catch a break....
Boy, have I had some tough luck this past year, injury after injury.
It started with the frist Triathlon last season and now just when things were going good and I was feeling healthy and getting excited again I've sustained a knee injury.
This one though is more severe than the other aches and pains.
1.) Pulled Calf and continued to have troubles with tightness in both calfs running and biking all summer long (finally over that)
2.) Left hamstring and arch in my right foot gives me problems, both of which seem to be ok now.
3.) Then my back bothered me midway throught last season and into the fall. This actually hindered me quite a bit in swimming, biking, and running.
Went to chiropractor for an alignment, and that felt great. Doing quite a bit of stretching now that seem to help a lot.
4.) For awhile now my left hip gets a sharp pain in it sometimes when I run. It's not always there, just a nagging nuisance once in awhile.
5.) And now my knee is in pain whenever I run, hinders me from running at all.
It happend after i had finished a 4.5 mile jog Monday. It did not bother me at all during the run, and it was a good run. But later that afternoon just walking around the house it started to hurt and that evening at my daughters soccer practice I could not even run with the kids at all.
I put on a wrap and it still hurt to walk on Tuesday but was able to swim with minimal discomfort. (I did not have to kick to swim. I just worked on my stroke, arm strength and form).
Wednesday and Thursday it felt fine. I was able swim and bike.
However, today I tried to test it out on an easy slow jog and it didnt take but a half mile for it to start hurting again. So I immediately stopped. I was able to go hop on a bike with no problems at all. So It must be the jarring from the running that cuases the pain.
Sure hope I can recover quickly from this for the first triathlon this season is May 18th, only 6 weeks away.

To answer your question, I have not been working out on the weekends, so there is at least two consecutive days of rest.
But I have done lot more running than anythign else all winter.
