Hooray for Patches!

Finally somebody decided to come out with a patch for Ninja Gaiden II to fix the previous patch. I had quit playing because of the freezes the last patch caused.

So I started on Mentor and promptly got stomped. I've heard after you get past the first four chapters it gets easier, but I don't know if I have the patience to find out. I'm hoping once I level up my weapons it will get "easier."

While I was taking a break from NG2 I fired up COD4 and did pretty well in multiplayer. I was expecting to go negative, but I actually turned in a couple of good rounds in team deathmatch. Of course next time I play I'll go 20-3 or something like that. Such is life.

The Office Quote of the Day for Fri

Dwight Schrute: Yes I have acted before. I was in a production of Oklahoma in the seventh grade. I played the part of Mutey, the mailman. They had too many kids so they made up roles like that... I was good.

Boring..kinda

I am sitting here at my desk. I am bored...kinda. I am listening to some classic rock. Except I really think it falls more in the vintage category, if there is such. If not, I am declaring one. Beginning with this vinyl I am listening to. I found it in  a flea market for two dollars. It is Crosby, Stills and Nash. No Young on this one. And I have no idea of the year released because there is no date anywhere on the cover or vinyl. The cover is great, no wear or tear. Has the song "Marrakesh Express". Anyway,  I have a turntable that hooks up to me pc, which allows me to import my vinyl collection. I have editing software also to edit all the scratches and pops from the vinyl. Really cool. So I thought I'd tell everybody about it.

There is only thing that kinda sucks about the whole process. You have to babysit the darn thing (turntable/software). Everytime the song ends you have to push the "new track" button. Otherwise you would end up with one long song on playback. I guess maybe I am a purist. When it is done its retrieves the song titles, and imports it to your music library, in my case iTunes. Well time to go.

My New 2o2p Site Idea

we wouldnt have to call it badges we could call it 2o2p achievements or whatever, but the idea i have had is this

you would unlock little badges for doing things around the site, like you basiacally have 3 for each thing you want members to be active in, this may be one way we get members more active and out of there shell. for example

1) there would be one for donating to the site 1 time, then 10 times, then say 50 or 100

2) one for 1 forum post, then 500, then say 10,000, this one could have 4 badges maybe for increments

3) then one for blogs, like 1 blog post, 100 blog posts, 1000 blog posts

4) submit one news article, submit 10 news articles, submit 100 news articles.

5) maybe have one for clan page posts and one for regular forum posts to get people into the main stream more.

6) maybe have one for posting x amount of comments in peoples blogs

7) maybe have one for posting comments to news articles

the amount of things you can link it to are endless, and so on, basically you could put this badge idea in there profile or something or there account page. i went ahead and did a mock up of just a basic idea of the layout. if ds and doodi like the idea and members i would totally be interested in desiging the buttons or icons for the badges if they wanted. this is a thought i had after listening to the podcast this morning.

let me know what you guys and gals think.

this is the empty format

this is the partial filled format

it would take some time to come up with a full workable list of good looking icons for this project that went with the flow of the website, its just i wanted to make an image to go along with my thought

Better Bean Quality

The golfing trip went well. I didn't kill anyone with flying balls; I didn't pass out from the heat; I didn't hit too many trees; I didn't hurt myself; I didn't lose many balls; I didn't win anything. What?!? At least my Saucer Hat should have won for most obtrusive.

What I learned: You don't get a golf cart with 9 holes--which I protested to no avail--and had to walk. My cute little orange soft golf balls are just for practicing and not to be used in 'real' golfing (I didn't know!) How to swing the right way...NOT! I can still hit a tree behind me! I'm NOT the worse golfer. That you can let people pass, because I'm just that slow. That you can have fun--we joked and laughed are butts off the whole game. That I can eat a lot of food!--no you don't understand!!! alot of food!

I'm playing Warhawk tonight with some clan members. I haven't had a chance to improve my skills. So I can only hope to hold my own. I mostly played dogfights in Warhawk, so who knows how good I'll be on the ground. If you see someone running in circles, just put me out of misery.

I got a tomato from my garden!!! Woot. I ate the delicious thing. I didn't think it would be better than a store bought one, but OMG it was great!! It was small, but so full of flavor. I've never tasted a tomato like it before. I've got more coming too! And, peppers, what do I do with all these darn hot peppers????? I kept giving them to this guy who loves them, but he's gone for a long vacation. I think I'm going to dry them in the sun. I'll let you know if it works. I put my tongue on one, lets just say it's HOT HOT HOT!!!!! can you scream FIRE!

XValue BBQ?....Better Bean Quality?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need a fire extinguisher. . .

Move

Occasionally I will find something that irritates the fuck out of me.  Its not the this thing is newly discovered, its just all of a sudden I realize how very very much it pisses me off.

This week:   People that won't get the fuck out of the way.   It doesn't matter if its driving or walking.  And honestly its mostly that I have noticed it while walking.   In particular, its heavy people.   I am not skinny, thin or fit by any stretch of the imagination, and I don't have anything against clinically obese people, other than the fact that they are a drain on our medical society, our economy and a burden in most other ways.  Its the fact that some of these fat fucks are so used to people moving to the side when they walk by that they become indigent when they are the ones that have to move.   Case in point.

On vacation we were at a dock side restaruant, a very low-key  place and there were a few small children, I would say no older than 6 years old playing in their area and having a good time.   Annoying as their little voices were, this is the point in which my brain started shrieking.   Along comes Fatty McLardAssington down the middle of the walk way through this area and she got pissy because the kids didn't move out of the way going as far as to say "excuxe me, you almost knocked me over!"  Which was impossible, which I informed her by simply stating "Lady a truck couldn't knock you over"   Mental note:  Don't say these things when with your wife.

Since that point it has become painfully obvious that there are SOOO many people in day to day life that just won't move out of your way when you ware walking, or anything.  I don't want people to "Get out of my way" but I think it should be a shared activity, both people should make the attempt to move to allow easier passage of someone passing by them.  Its just fucking common decency.

I'm calling people on it from now on.  I started last night at Lowe's when mini-Baine was pushing a cart and this chunck fuck looked right at him and then walked infront of him making him halt to a stop.  Bullshit I say, so I apologized to the other person for the fact that they obviously didn't see or care about the person they stepped infront of.

FFS people, move out of the way.
