Aren't we allowed to be human?

So this is something I have been noticing not just here but since I have been playing on Live.  It even happens in "real life" and I thought I would bring it up.  So stick with me through my minor bitch session.

I have noticed recently that if a person is an easy going and a generally happy person as soon as they show another emotion like being upset, having a rough night, even getting angry there are two responses from people: 1. Concern 2. Irritation

Now I like to think of myself as empathetic.  I am normally pretty good at telling if a person is doing well or if they are upset.  And when a friend of mine is upset I am concerned.  But then there are the people that get angry, as if the upset person doesn't have the right to be upset.  The comments are "what is up their butt?" (always high class),  "I can't believe the drama", or "Gawd...people need to just chill."

I think many have a hard time remembering that there are things outside of the Live rooms we are all involved in.  Many of us have families, jobs, and outside lives and those affect us through the games.  Those pressures don't just stop when we turn on our 360s.  People need to remember that.  Some come on Live to relax and try and forget things and just lose themselves in the game for a minute and when people are quiet or not 'themselves" then others can harrass them and then a safe haven becomes a place where it is no longer safe to go.

So.....I guess what I am saying is everyone needs to remember that Live is not our LIFE.  Everyone on Live is a person, a human, someone that has problems, emotions, and outside influences.  If you see a friend that seems upset then show them support by asking if they are ok but don't harrass them.  Give them the room they need and be a supportive friend.

Thanks for listening.

I'm a quiet, easy going person myself, who is as you say, "generally" happy. It usually takes a lot to get me angry enough to show that emotion, but since it's so "out of character" for me, when I do, people don't know how to handle it and they project similar "just chill" sentiments...which usually ticks me off more!

If I know I'm having a bad day, or that it won't take much to irritate me, the last thing I think about is going on Live. Unless I'm playing with people I know, to go out in the general Live population while feeling irritable, is just asking for aggravation.
