calves can live off regular baby formula. they mean to say that they couldn't devise ANYTHING to feed it formula? please. if they had DONE something instead of having meetings with their thumbs up their collective ass, it could have been saved.

I can see putting the poor creature out of its misery if there is no other alternative, but by what I read they never tried to do anything but watch it deteriorate. The part about it nuzzling boats as if they were its mother really got to me. By that behavior, it stands to reason they could have rigged something up for it to feed from. It's not like he was shy and running away from any kind of contact. It's sad they couldn't have tried a little harder.
