Doctor bills!!

Got the first bill for mini MeeMoos' broken arm. $450.00 OUCH at the Pedatric office!!  That visit does NOT include an office visit.  The charges were for the Physician to look at the arm and say "Let's get an x-ray" and for a splint.  The x-ray's I had done at MY hospital, FREE (benefits of being MEE!!).   Radiologist reading, FREE (another benefit).  Orthopedic visit  FREE (you know...) first cast, FREE(...), 2nd cast might be spendy

WTF cost $450?

A piece of plastic and an Ace wrap?

IT'S A SCAM!!!!

if I'd have known I could have maybe scraped together a sam, some israeli bandages, and a nasalpharageal airway... the shipping would have been about 12 bucks................................

Good gosh!

Wow. That seems awfully high.

We charge substantially less for an evaluation of an out-patient. But, if it involves setting said arm, it might be that much.

Truly, many physicians don't know or understand the billing process. There's a difference also between what is charged and what is reimbursed by your insurance. It is a complete headache to understand, actually, not that I do.

UGH!
I hate dealing with that stuff. I usually make shakes since I just end up screaming at what ever poor soul is on the other end of the phone.

You don't have health insurance? All that would have cost me, would be my 25 dollar copay.

LadyisRed ....lol I'll remember that. Just make a shake. I like that.

oh, I have insurance w/ a $20 co-pay (it pays 90%--)
They billed it as a surgery (wtf), that doctor did NOTHING but evaluate the arm---externally, and splint it.

Insurancec only pays 100% on "well-child" visits---90% on any other visit--and the office visit is $135 for a "sick" child!!
SuKS ass!
