Major League Gaming?

I'm not sure I understand the appeal to Major League Gaming (MLG).  I like to play just as much as the next guy, I don't even mind some competition now and then amongs friends and other site members.

I just don't see anything "major" or "league" about gaming.  I see it as a hobby, not a sport.  Kind of like fishing that way.

Maybe I'm off.  Thoughts?

If you were major league then you'd know.

Note to Groovy: Pro Fishing is a sport. Televised and all. It is even a fantasy sport.

Same thing with Golf and Poker. If there is a way to be competative there will be a way to find out who is the "best".

Have you seen the pants that we wear when playing golf? That alone should classify it as a sport.

I like cake. It is not a lie. I can eat it fast and a lot of it. It makes me money on the pro tour. It also makes me happy. I like cake.
