Megan update and proof that the cake is not a lie

First, updates.

A little update on Megan, she is actually having a pretty decent day. She had a VERY bad choking spell a little after she went down for her nap though. It wore her out so she is back asleep. Her bad potty seems to have come back, which is rough on her. I am assuming it is the virus. We got the picture hung yesterday and man does it look beautiful. Megan sat in the chair looking up at it over the mantle and just kept staring. I know how she feels.

Thank you guys so much for your emails yesterday. I have had the opportunity to speak with a few people concerning my dad. I think the hard part is what needs to be done. I keep thinking about my dad and how much he thinks I am destroying his life and almost want to say, fine you can go, just so I could hear him say, just one more time, I love you instead of I hate you. But I know that it is not going to happen. I guess I would rather my dad be mad at me for the rest of his life then something happen to him. I often look back at pictures of my dad and wonder what happened? How did it come to this? It literally breaks my heart. So my brother and I have to basically declare him incompetent. How do you do something like that and not be completely ripped up inside? We were told to pretty much be prepared for him to become even more angry, closing off any relationship with us because he will not want one. You know it's the right thing to do but I don't know how anyone could do this and not be heartbroken. He is my dad, no matter what, and it hurts very much.

I could not decide if I should share this or not because it is a blog for Megan but you guys are some amazing prayer warriors so who better to ask to pray than you? Most of you do not know my dad, but Jim, Chris and I do. We know him very well and if it can get ugly I promise you it will. That is just the way my dad works. Please pray about this situation. It can take a while if my dad wants to and it can get ugly and very costly. Plus doing this will add a lot to my brother and I to take on as well. But please pray for understanding, somehow. By the Grace of God that he would understand that we are doing this because we want to keep him safe. And that in his heart he will know that I do love him very much.

It's been a bit rough coming up with a resolution for Stacy's dad, but we know that whatever decision is made, we will have sought God's wisdom in helping us come to that decision.

Up next, we were able to procure a hospital-type bed for Megan. It is a twin size bed, with the ability to raie and lower her head and has the rails for her protection. We bought it from a man, who bought it for his mother but never used it. The really cool thing happened when we were transporting the bed from his house to ours. I was able to, by the grace of God and for the first time, share the gospel of Jesus Christ with him. It was an amazing 20 minutes. David was VERY receptive and asked some good questions. He did not pray to receive Christ at that point, but a seed has been planted that only God can water. He is a very nice man, and I am going to be praying for him as he thinks about what was said and knowing God will take care of the rest. He also got to meet Megan which was a special moment as well. Praise be to God, for giving us the gospel to share.

Next, for those who believe the cake is a lie, it's not. Megan ate the cake. And guess what? It was a strawberry.
