Veteran level...

"I had to set aside my plans for world domination yesterday when NotStyro decided to game. Our score is 6,460 and always improving! That is a boost of 120 points over last time! He rallied CoD: World at War picking up 5 achievements, and yeah... wow... my processor hurts..."

To state that CoD:WaW veteran level is difficult is...a rather large understatement. If it only takes me 10-15 retries to get between two checkpoints, then there isn't much going on. I swear that it took me +25 times to get that damn sniper on the Vendetta map. I've also gotten used to being the target for hand grenade version of hot potatoe - grenade lands near me, I throw it back, another two or three land near me...I die. Veteran is a pita, but it sure makes the campains seem a helluva lot longer.

For my b-day I've gotten Red Alert 3 and Sins Of A Solar Empire for the PC. I dunno why, but I'm a sucker for some good RTS.

music

few things in the world move me as much as music.

i don't believe in musical boundaries. music of all types are there for all to enjoy.

it's helped me get through some very hard times and has made great times even better.

instead of just blogging about my (usually, see 2 posts down) uneventful life, i'd like to share some music with you.

i hope you enjoy it as much as i do.

this is Gorillaz 19-2000 remix, which i find superior to the original album mix:

Play Doom I in your browser

Man does this bring back memories. I played HOURS of Doom on my 386DX. It's one of the only games that actually ran correctly on that P.O.S. I used a joystick and keyboard and could fly through that game. In fact, if my wife was watching over my shoulder, she'd get motion sick.

Now, you can play Doom in Flash. And it looks just like the original. Amazing.

results!

Well, the votes are in, and it would seem that heat is the mitigating factor when it comes to increasing the pungency of a fart. Thanks to all who contributed, I think I will now try and lure my Wife into the nice warm car for a ride somewhere. muahahahahahaha! Yes, I'm sick.... Yes, I am twisted.... and no ladies, you cannot have my number.  but here is a pic to get you by for the day.

Congress and the Big 3.

Did you get to hear these idiots today on the radio. Bloomberg Radio had the auto makers and the hearings live and all of a sudden protesters start chanting , 'THE BAILOUT IS A SELLOUT, THE BAILOUT IS A SELLOUT". Man you could still hear this woman screaming even after they carried her out , close the doors and must have been "escorting" her out of the building. I'm not sure why 10,000 people aren't doing this.

Godspeed SSGT James Alford

I'm 99% certain that I've posted his story as a "Someone You Should Know" on my blog, but I'm not going to shift through 3 years worth of blog entries trying to find it. Also, I blogged about it while he was still fighting for his life.

So here's a quick re-cap:

By the time he shipped out for the war in Iraq in January, Special Forces Sgt. James Alford was a wreck of a soldier. For five months, he had been doing odd things. He disappeared from Fort Campbell, Ky., for several days last year. He lost equipment and lied to superiors. In December, he was demoted from staff sergeant to sergeant.

In the Kwaitidesert, he came apart. The hotshot Green Beret who a year earlier ran circles around his team members and earned a Bronze Star in Afghanistan was ordered to carry a notepad to remember orders. By March, he was being cited for dereliction of duty, larceny and lying to superiors. He couldn’t even keep up with his gas mask.

Finally, in April, his commanders had had enough. They ordered him to return to Fort Campbell to be court-martialed and kicked out of the Special Forces.

“Your conduct is inconsistent with the integrity and professionalism required by a Special Forces soldier,” Lt. Col. Christopher E. Conner of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group Headquarters in Kuwait, wrote April 10.

Confused and disgraced
Confused and disgraced, the soldier moved back into his off-base home where he ate canned meat and anchovies, unaware of the day, the month or the year.

Sensing something was wrong, a neighbor called Alford’s parents. They drove 600 miles from East Texas to find a son who’d lost 30 pounds and could no longer drink from a glass, use a telephone, button his shirt or say Amber, the name of his soldier wife who was still stationed in the Middle East.

They rushed him to an emergency room. A month and several hospitals later, Alford’s family learned he was dying of a disease eating away his brain. He had Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, an extremely rare and fatal degenerative brain disorder akin to mad cow disease that causes rapid, progressive dementia.

The Army reversed direction quite quickly, and re-instated his rank, re-instated him into the Special Forces, and dismissed all charges against him. They also allowed him to stay on active duty, even though he was bed ridden.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, 90 percent of people who have Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease die within a year. Jamie survived for SIX YEARS. Unbelievable.

On December 1st, 2008 SSGT James Alford finally lost his battle with the disease.

My Next Montage!

Well, Ive started working on a 2nd montage. Got all my clips split up and named so i know what they are etc. Even have 1 song that id like to use, and ideas on what to do in it etc. I just hope i can get Sony Vegas to do what im seeing lol. LOTS of no scopes. Many more triples than I had in my first one. And ive actually started getting some Perfections so some running riot perfections are gonna be in this one. I dont have that many sticks. Cause really, I had so many in my first one I just dont feel like many sticks are worthy of a montage haha.

So look forward to some better editing, Im gonna take my time on this one. It will contain more than enough no scopes, but im gonna try and split them up into 5-10 at a time then show some multikills etc. Also i have the name of almost every person i No scoped.. any ideas on how to  point out the names?? I mean i could zoom in on the kill but i dont really wanna use that "time" in the montage..Im thinking of just popping the names up after the kill, but im more than likely gonna just put all the names in the Credits.

As most of you who know me.. already know.. i also hang out in Social, and in some DLC Big team with some of my freinds..so there will be some Lazer kills, and some "none MLG" highlights to show. Tomorrow im gonna start trying to piece together a nice little opening to the montage. Though im no where near as good at this as alot of people so it wont be some big movie intro looking thing.. just something simple.

Gotta find out a name for my montage, dont want the n00b title "my first montage" lol. Looking for something a bit more "cool" but i'll prolly just name it after one of or all of the songs I use..or use a little saying me and KS63 like to use while playing n00bs in social lol.

Anyways stay tuned.. any ideas or suggestions will, as always, be accepted and appreciated. I guess my biggest question for the day is: How long is too long for a montage?? Ive seen them anywhere from 3 mins to 12 mins.. I hope to stay around the 8 min. mark like last time.. but i have WAY more content this time... so do you think you could sit through 10 mins? lol

I play customs with alot of people here.. and most of which have earned their place in the old tage...as im sure ive found my way into a few of yours, and you just havent made it yet!

See ya later guys.. i'll be working on this... and taking my time.. to make sure you all like it!!

Not the best of days

oh, lots of issues at work...for those of you who read the second post I had from yesterday before I deleted it, that crap is still going on...now people are starting to discuss a class action lawsuit...which will go nowhere....but dont' tell them that or they will start mis-quoting things they saw on Wikipedia as sound legal advice....anyway, I just keep watching that kitten in the video below...he is so cute, I can't stand it....so I started looking for Scotish Fold kittens....and what I learned made him a whole lot less cute...I found an adult, male, nutered....right at the end of it's life for $100.  and many many kittens ranging from $500 for ones with straight ears and ones as high as $2,500 for the folded ear ones....I don't see us getting one of them any time soon. but there are a few nice young cats at the Humane Society....

Auto out.
