| In For Repair
My xbox finally got to the repair center. They said something about it was received but not at the actual repair center yet. UPS or Microsoft delivers them to a central location in Texas and then moves them to the repair centers. So anyway it is getting repaired and I should have it back within a week.
On another note I picked up W@W the yesterday. I'm really looking forward to checking out Co-Op and Zombie mode, but not really that excited about multiplayer. From what I've been told Veteran on this game is ridiculously hard.
Last but not least don't forget to check out the 2old2play V3 Artist auction. All the proceeds go to the site redesign.
Have a good night.

| Left 4 Bed
This is an mp3 created from soundbites from Left 4 Dead. And the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.
Make sure you have the audio turned down and/or headphones on if you're at work.

| Big 3 Auto Execs
Kudos to the executives of the big 3. They learned their lesson, no private jets to go beg congress for money to help their outdated and mismanaged companies. But I still have issue with their means of transportation. All three of the execs are driving to Washington, in seperate cars!
I think we should now get mad at them for not car pooling. Think of the redwoods, you jerks.

| today's random musings
What is it about being in a shower that dramatically amplifies the pungency of a fart? Because I almost killed myself in the shower this morning. Once I came to, I started thinking about it. Is it the humidity, the heat or a combination of the two? Maybe it is just because it is such an enclosed space. Please, science guys, help me out here. Is there some formula? If that is indeed the case, then I really feel for those of you who live in the more humid areas of our country (and abroad for that matter).
It also gets me thinking in another direction. Maybe I should open a bakery and keep the humidity level in the 90% range. People would probably be ready to kill once they entered the store and smelled the fresh baked bread amplified to infinity.
Anyway, I propose an experiment. If everyone reading this today would kindly eat something tonight that makes you deadly. Beans, cauliflower, crab cakes.... whatever you need. Then in the morning before your shower rip a good one. Take a whiff and remember it. If possible, ask a loved one to also sample your handywork for an objective opinion. Then while in the shower, let another one go and compare. Post here afterwards (once your head clears) and let me know how it goes.

| It's That Time of Year Again!!!!!

My absolute favorite night of TV has finally arrived!! It's the 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!! Time to sit back, relax, and oogle all the fine ass that will be skipping down that runway! This has been a staple for the last 3 years and its a must for anyone who enjoys looking at the hands down hottest girls on the planet. Lima, Ambrosia, Banks, and my favorite Kerr will be wearing skimpy outfits for 1 hour and on national tv! Motha. Fuckin. Woot. Make sure to tune in to CBS at 10/9C for an hour of fine butts bodies and boobs.

| New Pentagon Football Rules
in honor of this week's Army vs. Navy game:
New SecDef Directive: Joint Rules for the Army-Navy-Air Force-Marine Corps Game.
The Pentagon announced new rules for the fall 2005 Army-Navy-Air Force-Marine Corps football tournament:
1. Only flag football will be played. The Joint Chiefs deemed tackle and touch football too dangerous. First, because of the CNN factor, the fact that the MSM will no longer tolerate even one field casualty. Second, touching another player today, even the congratulatory pat on the behind, is court-martial bait.
2. The phrase "making a pass" will be changed to the less ambiguous " throwing the ball." And the Army, Navy and Marines will be blocked from throws beyond 5 yards because of Air Force protests that it alone owns the long-range air attack mission.
3. The Marine Corps may run with the ball, but no more than 25 yards per quarter, the Pentagon ruled. It was prompted by Army objections to long-range naval ground operations.
4. The Navy may not use tailbacks. The term is too sensitive and should be avoided.
5. To promote inter-service cooperation, all teams will be ordered to use the same game plan, after receiving suggestions from all four services.
a. The Army's plan, called "The Game After Next," is calling for handoffs of a digitized football to the fullback, up the middle, on every play. The Army plan's last chapter, titled "Exit Strategy," was oddly blank, which would leave players with no choice but to set up bunkers and temporary housing on the 50-yard line.
b. The Navy's "Forward... From the Bench" plan will call for players, each called a ball "carrier," to be surrounded by other Navy football players in a pack called "carrier groups." These units would establish a roaming " presence" all over the playing field. Less important than crossing the goal line is the Navy strategy of being able to protect the carrier group wherever it patrols the gridiron. So threatening are these carriers, the Navy strategy goes, that no one would be foolish enough to even mount a defense.
c. The Marine's "Three-Yard War" plan will be predictable: Seize ground, every down, no matter how, regardless of the price, preferably while on the playing field. The linchpin of the Marine game plan called for packing the audience with members of Congress to ensure that the Marines' performance did not go unrecognized.
d. The Air Force's "Fieldwide Engagement" plan keeps calling for very long, accurate throws on every down, during huddles, timeouts, half-time, between games, in the parking lot and even in the showers. So fast and accurate would these throws be, went the Air Force strategy, no other team should even bother to take the field.
6. After examining each team's playbook the Secretary of Defense ruled that none could be used, and that each service was left to its own devices. The Navy will probably decide victory could be had by not taking the field. Instead, its players will patrol up and down the sidelines in breathtaking formation, hoping that would sufficiently deter the other teams from leaving their benches.
7. Likewise, the Army will probably decide against taking the field, at least until several conditions are met: one, that vital U.S. national interests were at stake; two, the conditions for victory were concrete and easily defined; and, three, the President would activate 550,000 reserve and National Guard Army football players if the game actually were to be played.
8. The Air Force feels victory could be achieved also by not showing up. Secret plans were just leaked to the press that the Air Force had spent $38.7 bazillion on a system able to fire the football into the end zone from space.
9. Bolstered by congressional resolution to be the "most ready football team when others are the least," the Marines stormed the playing field and declared themselves the winners in the fourth quarter, after finally getting the ball across the correct goal line.
10. And there was joy in Mudville.

| TANKS BLOG : ringing ears edition

Oh my aching ears !
Saw AC/DC at Oakland Arena last night. I've been waiting to see AC/DC in concert for 25 years so it was awesome to finally get that checked off my Bucket List. The first album I bought of theirs was Back in Black on casette way back in grade school and i've been listening ever since. Just for one reason or another i've never been able to see them in concert until now.
The show opened with The Answer, a rock band out of Ireland and they actually were pretty good. Might have to see if i can find more of them. AC/DC came on at 9, the stage was surprisingly well lit with a small bult up background and a video screen above them. The show opened with a video playing themed on Rock and Roll Train with the train going out of control at the end of it and the video screens splitting , one going left and one right and a full size locomotive prop came out on stage above the guys. It mostly just sat there but it did shoot out fire for one song, and when they played Rosie, a huge inflatable Rosie appeared and she was straddling the locomotive and it kinda looked like she was taping her foot along with her song, it was pretty cool.
They played 4 songs i think from the new Black Ice album. The show of course opened with Rock and Roll Train, but they also played War Machine, Black Ice, Rock and Roll Dream and I think the fourth was Big Jack. There was also plenty of classic AC/DC mixed in. From what I remember, they played Dirty Deeds, Back in Black, Hells Bells, TNT, Shook me All Night Long, Thunderstruck, She's got the Jack and after the main set was over, they came back out and played Highway To Hell and For Those About TO Rock complete with firing cannons of course. Pretty much if it's one of their biggest songs, they played it last night.
They came on at 9 and it ended at about 10:50 or so. The show is totaly the Brian / Angus show, they were both up front and center all night and the other three guys were at the back of the stage. I wonder if Brian and Angus are the only early AC/DC guys left? Anyway they totally rocked it out all night long, but god damn are they old now. Angus started out in his traditional school boy uniform but he ripped the hat, jacket and shirt off after like the 4th song during one of his plentyful solos. He can still shred that guitar playing just the neck, he's still got it and still does all those moves like the bent over trot around stage, laying down playing, at one point he was up on an elevated platform. he was all over that stage. Brian came out on the catwalk quite a few times to shake hands with people who got to sit down there while he was singing. Of course i say sit but actually, no one was sitting after 9, everyone got up to cheer and that was the last time we sat down for the night.
Anyway, got home around 1am, the wife had to get up and go to work, i got to sleep in thankful for being laid off just this once My ears are still ringing though, it's been 11 hours since leaving the concert and i can still hear ringing in my ears! AC/DC was worth the wait and worth every penny !

| 4 Days To Disney
Some how recently I have started reading up on survival. Now let me set the tone first. I am not a doom and gloom kind of guy. I am a normal guy. Yes I do love shooting guns but that is about the only thing I have in common with these doom and gloom survivalists. I was researching a gun one day and found a website and on the forums was a forum for survival. I clicked on it and started reading it. Most of it was sort of out there end of the world stuff. Some of it was common sense things we should all think about. Long story short, I have looked into it a little more. For instance, I live in a house with an electric heat pump. If power goes out in the middle of the winter with an ice storm, I am screwed. I have no alternate heat source. Now Tennessee isn't Minnesota but we still get our share of snow and ice. Little things like this have got me interested in reading some of these websites. Do I really think I will have to bug out to the mountains to survive one day? Not really but it has got me thinking about being prepared for things. How many people were prepared when Katrina hit? So do any of you prepare for emergencies or disasters? Check out this guys blog. http://survivalblog.com/
Interesting reading. Yes, some of it is far fetched but some of it, who knows. I was looking at some of his first blogs from several years ago and he was warning about the housing problem long before I knew anything about it.
I just say it is always good to be prepared. I know my family is not prepared for even a little emergency like the power being off for several days. So what kind of preparing has your family done? And once again, I am not a nut.

| I'm feeling a little more cogent today.
Thanks to everyone for their offers of help yesterday. The 2o2p community is much more helpful (not to mention faster and more polite) than the last lot of official customer service reps I've talked to.
Unfortunately, the DRM transfer tool wouldn't solve the underlying problem. I'm trying to use the my LIVE Arcade game through the "roaming" license while logged into LIVE from a friend's console. I don't want to transfer my licenses to his console because I'd planned to buy a replacement 360 for myself in a few months, and the DRM transfer can only be used once every 12 months. At this point, though, I may just decide to try the DRM transfer anyway and plan on not buying a replacement console .
I'm not confident that a DRM transfer would work, anyway. I'm able to use all my other Arcade games on my friend's console, but the license is screwed up on just this one title (Shotest Shogi.) I don't know that transferring a broken license would fix it.
One supervisor said that my type if problem is a known issue with Sonic the Hedgehog that they've never been able to explain. Others have blamed the developers and told me to contact them. When I contacted them via e-mail, the developers both confirmed that they are powerless to do anything on LIVE, Marketplace, or licensing. The developers both replied to me within an hour, and they're both very small companies located in the U.K. Microsoft said it would call me back yesterday and, big surprise, they didn't call me back. For those of you just joining us, they said over two weeks ago that they'd contact me within 3 days with a solution.
