Banks Get On My Nerves
Four months ago I had a little banking fiasco leading to me having to renew four of my debit cards. Man, it sucked. I do a lot of online banking, transfers, links to paypal and the like... also got subscriptions for my podcasts linked to my paypal which pulls from my debit card, and all that jazz. When my card was renewed I had to go through hell to re-setup all my bank stuff, re-link all my stuff and call a ton of places to tell them to re-establish my card (for instance, Xbox Live now has like 5 credit cards on file, all dead but one...until now).
So, I get back from vacation and I've got a credit card in the mail. A note attached saying my card "might" have been compromised by "some" place and there is a "chance" it's been stolen. So they re-issued me yet another one. The card? My personal debit card which I do all my lifes duties upon (read my banking fiasco for the first time they cut all ties to my card).
So, now I'm on my third card on this account THIS YEAR. I have to go back and re-link all my information to yet another account number. Ironically, to login to bank of america your username is your card ID... well, now I must remember the 16-digit number from three credit cards ago because its been cancelled so many times.
Luckily I've not taken the time in the last four months to re-memorize my new card. It doesn't even have scratches yet and they closed it on me... again...
Sometimes technology can be frustrating. I also love how they won't tell me which company compromised my card. However, watching the news makes it obvious.

More to the point, typing in the damn CC# and all my address information (and the 3-digit code on the back on the card) with their damned typing interface is more than annoying.
I think I'll bring down my USB keyboard for this, as I'm going to cancel XBL if I have to suffer through a sixth re-typing of my information.

If you're having problems with potential cc fraud, that might interest you. Now it's no good for montly payments, you'll need to use the real card # for that but for shopping around on lots of different internet sites that maybe you're not totally 100% sure about, this protects your ass.
I think it's a master card service but i could be wrong. I just remember hearing an ad about it on the radio or something.

All the fraud has been non-Internet based (go figure, which is more secure...), but it affects my internet shopping because all the sites that store my information like Amazon who don't get hacked as easily have to have all my information re-entered and updated before I can use them again.
