Healing quickly

It's been 5 weeks exactly since Colin was hit by a car and broke his femur and he has been healing at a remarkable rate. Over the past couple of weeks he has become very mobile with his crutches and moves his leg around without any pain. Last week the doc told him he can start some partial weight bearing and today he told him today that he can start walking short distances without his crutches! 5 weeks after breaking a femur! I tell you, I'd still be bedridden and whining like a little b****.

At this rate, he might be able to salvage the last two weeks of the summer. I sure hope so because I can tell he's getting cabin fever.

We also found out that all we have to do is go to the hospital and they will give us a DVD with the xrays on it. As soon as we get that I'll post a couple of the pics here.

you would be a whining little b****? Did you mean to say you are?

Haha j/k

Glad to hear the boy is doing so well. It would be great if he could save some of his summer vacation

Sorry to hear about Colin, but glad to hear he is doing better!

It's great to hear that he is doing so well! You know the femur is the hardest bone in the human body to break. I broke mine in a car accident back in 85. I had to have a rod inserted in the femur itself and a couple of pins to hold it in place. That was all removed within a year and I really don't have any trouble with it other than a few aches during cold, wet weather.

Good to hear your son is quickly on the mend. What ever happened to the person that hit him?

Glad to hear he is doing well. Do you want me to hold down Cerberus while you beat him with one of your son's crutches?

not kidding!

;^)

He's going to bounce back!! Sounds like it was a clean break and not in the growth plate woot woot!!
Can't wait to see pics!

meemoos: No, it was thru the growth plate. Doc says that he might need an operation on the other leg in 12-18 months to even them out. But we'll see. He's 15 and already 5'11" so he may have been done growing.
