A call to all parents.....HELP!!!
First of all let me say to all of my clan mates I miss you. Having a 5 week old and a 22 month old my gaming has taken a backseat. My youngest however is starting to get into a regular sleeping pattern so I expect to be back online more often very soon. Not to mention that my Internet connection has been going down more often than Paris Hilton on a Friday nightAny way back to my topic, I am looking to the fellow parents on this site for any thoughts or suggestions for a recent trend my oldest daughter has found. Sunday during her nap time marked the 4th occasion that she decided to remove her pants and her diaper although this was the first mess we had.
I was feeding my youngest on the couch and I could hear her stirring in the other room. My wife was on her way home and I just could not get to her right then. I was wrapping up the feeding when I began to smell something foul. I put my youngest in her playpen and went to investigate. I walked in and found my daughter, her crib, and all her bedding covered in (you know damn well what so I'm not going to say it). Just then I heard my wife walk in the house. I yelled for her to get in there right away.
My wife started laughing which I can't blame her but I don't want my daughter to think this behavior was funny or ok regardless so I yelled at my wife to stop. I immediately took her into the tub and gave her a bath while my wife worked on the crib. My daughter was covered face, hair, mouth....everything. It took about an hour and multiple rounds in the washer to get everything cleaned.
I know some of you out there must have faced something like this with your kids and I am looking for any suggestions you may have. Right now when we put her to bed she is wearing shorts that she cannot pull off to help prevent this.

A few things- 1. get a good book about using the potty (preferably gender specific) and sit down and read it to her frequently.
2. Kids at this age are starting to understand social cues about things that are not clean, or the concept of "yucky." talk to your daughter about how how handling the stuff is yucky. we basically tell my daughter "Poop needs to be in a diaper or go in the potty."
3. You might even take her after a diaper change and dump the stuff in the toilet and let her flush it to help her learn, this worked great with my oldest.
4. It may be time to get a toddler bed (I know, that sucks). But if she is getting ready to potty train, that might be the next step.
5. We miss you too, man. Feel free to PM me and I'll send you my email addy. We can have a gaming dad's support group.

I am definately going to pickup one of the potty books and see how that might help.
Thanks everyone and I hope to be back online real soon.
