Just about done

I'm seriousy about to give up gaming period. I haven't been able to play online in weeks. It all started with my 360 headset screwing up and cutting out on me, at first I thought it was just lag but it did it with private messages in the dashboard too. Then it stopped working altogether.

I've tried everything to fix it.

I've cleared the cache

Made sure the NAT is open

Tried multiple headsets with multiple controllers

Made sure my mic settings were set for everyone.

Even used a hard-wired controller to make sure it wasn't being caused by interference from my wireless router.

Xbox support suggested all of these things again and I went through them over and over. Nothing works.

Finally today I bought a brand new ultra spiffy Xbox 360 Elite. Got it all unwrapped and hooked up and toom it for a test fragging. It worked just fine, so problem solved right? Yeah, so I thought. I've been fighting with it all over again and on the phone with support for the last 2 hours because it's doing it again.

It's like the mic isn't even there. It makes that litle popping sound when you first plug it in so I know it's reading that the mic is there. But no one can hear me and it doesn't record my voice at all.

At all.

The only thing that saved that Elite from being smashed all over my driveway is the fact that I can still get a $450 refund for it.

I'm seriously pissed like you've never seen and I may not be back.

Has to be interference from something in the house/room you're in. You don't live under power lines do you? Seriously man, I hope you get it worked out.

That is really fucking weird....and I don't have a clue what the deal could be. Maybe it's like Target said.....interference.

you know, my XM, and home router have been cutting out too...is there anything going on with sun spots or something like that?

I was having trouble a couple of weeks ag on my racing wheel. It turned out to be that jack that you plug the mic into. have you tried a wireless mic to be sure it's not just a bad jack?

I've had controllers with bad mic jacks. I've had multiple bad headsets. I'd try finding a buddy with a known good set and see if it works with your system.

K bye.

is the mic synchronized

Hook the xbox up directly to the cable modem. Then use a hard wired mic and a controller combo that is known to work on someone else's system.

Finally borrow someone's working xbox, controller and headset and see if it works at your house.

@ jcotter and Venom

I would have tried all that if it were just my old 360 pro. But I just bought a brand new 360 Elite with brand new headset and controller.
It's doing it on that too.

@Baine, bite me

Perhaps it's Karma? What have you done that would bring this onto you?
