Building Finished!!!

Just an update, we finished the building on Monday. I will never buy another one of these again. Actually I didn't buy this one, but I won't recommend them eighter. It was a PAIN IN THE ASS to say the least. I get to move the stuff into the building this weekend, YEAH!!! At least I get my parking spot back in the garage.

It has been hectic at work this week so I haven't been in the forums as much as I usually am. Stuck in PSU again. I went in to talk to a buddy of mine that I haven't talked to in a while and now he has me hooked again!! RPG are addictive, I just have to watch how much I play it this time around.

Well got to run and get back to work. Everyone have a great weekend!!

Building Update #2

Well, got a little closer to completion last night. We got the side walls up and one of the roof beams. All thats left is 2 more roof beams, roof and doors!! It should not be taking this long but we are having to go back and redo some stuff (cough - father in law not listening to son in law - cough). The side piece that was too long, turned out that somehow we took it apart and flipped the left and right side and it worked!!! No idea what the deal with that was!!?? I am taking off early today hopefully to get things set for us tonight. I am hoping that if I can get home and get everything set up, that it will flow better and I can lead the charge. Don't get me wrong about my father in law, he is a great builder. I have learned alot from him when I have helped him build things such as his deck, but with this metal building, he suxs!! The man WON"T read the instructions and goes out of order and that is why we are having to go back and redo things. Hopefully we will be done with it tonight and then this weekend, we can fill it up!!

We finally got the achievement in GRAW2 for the 60 minute defend. We were able to find a host that could host 16, thanks Islanta. We started out with 16 and when we finished had 8 still alive. That is the most work I have done in a while for an achievement. Going to get back in RB6 tonight, been about 4 months since I have played that. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Here in the south it is going to be beutiful!!!!

Building Update

Well, we got 3 of the four corners on the building put up. We are having problems with the last corner (front left). Actually it is the left side. We put the middle support bar in and it is longer than it should be. Don't ask me how, if I knew it would be fixed!! The floor frame is metal and therefore should easily match up you would think!!! I am sure we will figure it out tonight. We ran out of daylight last night.

In other news, our clan's GRAW2 night was last night. I got the room started about 9:15 est and we had about 6 people in the room playing some Co-Op stuff. Before I knew it we had 8 and switched to team stuff. People kept coming online and so we had a full room of 12 and there were still more that wanted in on the game!!! i just switched from DSL to Cable and hadn't tested to see how many I could do and knew that with DSL I was only able to host 12 (same upload speed). I decided to increase the room size to 14 to see what happened. IT WORKED FINE!!! I am able to host 14 with a cable upload speed of 756. I am now interested to see if i can host 16!!! We will see.

Great games BTW guys. I really had a great time. It was nice to have a full room with all the clan mates!!!!

Back at it tonight on the building. I am hoping to make some head way tonight. We will see......

Stuff taking up my gaming time

Well, I didn't get to play such last night. I had our monthly Board of Directors meeting at my work. Least it wasn't as bad as last month (didn't get home until 9:45). I got home around 8:30 last night, talked to the wife, went and kissed the kids good night in their beds and then fired up the 360. Wasn't long till I got my invite from Tank to try for the Defend Achievement in GRAW2. That was interesting. We had about 8 or 9 people in the room and wasn't able to make it much further than 30 minutes. Ammo runs out quickly doing that game type!! Tried it 3 times and decided to call it a night around 11:15. I will tell you this, you definatly need a full room of 16 to get this achievement!! The problem is, you have to have a good 1.5 meg connection to host 16!!

Again tonight my gaming time is going to be cut into. My father-in-law is coming over to help me with the shed again. Hopefully we can start to make some head room tonight and get a lot of it done. Anyway, tonight is GRAW2 night for the clan so hopefully it won't take too long before it gets dark!! Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Been a while....

since my last post. Haven't had too much going on besides gaming and family affairs. One thing that has gotton me upset here recently is my daughter's softball league. As you may or may not know, my daughter is 5 and is therefore just getting her feet wet as far as sports go. She has done cheerleading (hated it because she didn't like not being able to run), soccer (loved it) and basketball (again didn't like the time on the bench). This is the first time she was going to do softball and also the first time it was not for our Church through the Upward program. Notice how I said "was", that is right, I have already pulled her out!! Let me explain.

First thing I noticed was that we weren't finding out about the practices until the night before. Why they didn't have a scheduled practice time is beyond me. Next I hear that the couch would have to make his own arrangements as far as WHERE to practice. In other words not at the rec center. Then we got a call this past Wednesday night at 10 saying that she had practice Thursday night at 8. That was the straw that nearly broke the camel's back. My daughter is usually in bed by 8!!! Well, the practice got rained out but the coach called to tell us that they had a pre-season tournament scheduled for Saturday and that they would be playing in 3 games. 3 games, that is wrong for this age group!!!! That means she would be spending ALL DAY at the park doing a sport that she never has done. Also, it means my 3 year old son would be sitting there all day too! That did it. I called the coach on Friday and told him that I was pulling my daughter out because of the piss poor job of planning that was being done. I appologized to him and stated that i knew it was not his fault but the rec centers. I also told him that I was very angry at that fact that the boys league was not having ANY of this problems. No, that is right, all of the boys teams had a practice schedule and a league schedule. I asked for Board members names so I could call them to tell them how unfairly I believe the girls teams are being treated as compared to the boys. The coach directed me to a website that has the phone numbers. The coach also stated that he had been asking for a tee for the girls and has still not received it. AND - that one of the girls teams had a game at 9 at night!!!!! These are 5 and 6 year olds!!! I hated pulling her out, but I wasn't going to subject my girl to a new sport and have her hate it because of some lame ass rec centers mistake!! Oh well, we will try another rec center next year and get her into gymnastics for now.

In other news, has your wife ever told someone you would do something without ever talking to you about it. Pissed you off right?? Well how about this. My father in law got us a shed for our back yard for Christmas. We talked a couple weeks back about trying to get started on it this past weekend. Well with everything going on with softball and the weather wasn't going to be particularly nice (high of 50 with 20 MPH winds) I had told my wife that I think we should wait one more week. She agreed and we made plans to take the kids to the Tennessee Aquarium on Saturday instead. Well, the phone rings about 9 Friday night and I don't think much about it. Walk into the bedroom at around 10 and she proceeds to tell me that her dad had called and he would be over in the morning at 9. WTF???? I was PISSED!! I asked about our other plans and the fact that I specifically told her I didn't want to do it this weekend. She said nothing! I then asked why is she didn't have the balls to tell her dad then why didn't she let me speak to him. She stated that the building needed to be put up anyway. She isn't the one that is going to have to be out there working in that weather!!!! She said that I could call him back and tell him I didn't want to do it to which I said I wasn't going to do that since it was 10 at night and she had already made the plans. Anyway, got the floor put down over floze my ass of in the process!! Should be smooth sailing from here....

Sorry for the rant, just wanted to sound off about some things. You know, why don't women appologize?? I still haven't got an appology from her about doing that...

Anyway, I will try not to be so negative next time.

Marines and Tampons..

I received this in an e-mail from someone in my family. Man, never knew there was a use for tampons in the military.

THIS IS A GREAT STORY...

Tampons to the rescue in Iraq!! Don't worry, it's a good story - and worth reading - it's even humorous in parts. It's from the mother of a Marine in Iraq.

My son told me how wonderful the care packages we had sent them were and wanted me to tell everyone thank you. He said that one guy we'll call Marine X, got a girl care package and everyone was giving him a hard time.

My son said, "Marine X got some really nice smelling lotion and everyone really likes it, so every time he goes to sleep they steal it from him." I told my son I wa s really sorry about the mistake, and if he wanted I would send Marine X another package. He told me not to worry about Marine X because every time I send something to him, Marine X thinks it's for him too. He said when my husband and I sent the last care package Marine X came over to his cot picked up the box, started fishing through it, and said, "What'd we get this time?"

My son said they had the most fun with Marine X's package. He said he wasn't sure who we were sending the pack to, but the panties were size 20, and he said one of the guys got on top of the Humvee and jumped off with the panties over his head and yelled, "Look at me, I'm an Airborne Ranger!!!!"

One of the guys attached the panties to an antenna and it blew in the wind like a windsock. He said it entertained them for quite awhile. Then of course, they had the tampons.

When he brought this up my imagination just went running, but he continued.

My son said they had to go on a mission and Marine X wanted the ChapStick and lotion for the trip. He grabbed a bunch of the items from his care package and got in the Humvee. As luck would have it he grabbed the tampons too, and my son said everyone was teasing him about "not forgetting his feminine hygiene products".

He said things went well for a while, then the convoy was ambushed and a Marine was shot. He said the wound was pretty clean, but it was deep. He said they were administering first aid but couldn't get the bleeding to slow down, and someone said, "Hey use Marine X's tampons". My son said they put the tampon in the wound. At this point my son profoundly told me, "Mom did

you know that tampons expand?" "Well, yeah!".

They successfully slowed the bleeding until the guy got better medical attention. When they went to check on him later the surgeon told them, "You guys saved his life". If you hadn't stopped that bleeding he would have bled to death. My son said, "Mom, the tampons sent by the Marine Moms by mistake saved a Marine's life." At this point I asked him, "Well what did you do with the rest of the tampons?" He said, "Oh, we divided them up and we all have them in our flak jackets, and I kept two for our first aid kit".

I am absolutely amazed by the ingenuity of our Marines, and can't believe that something that started out as a mistake then turned into a joke, ended up saving someone's life. My sister said she doesn't believe in mistakes.

She believes God had a plan all along. She believes that female care package was sent to Marine X to save our Marine.

Either way, our efforts have boosted the morale of many Marines, provided much needed items for our troops, AND saved the life of a Marine!

Anyway, thought it was interesting. God bless our Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, and everyone.

Just an Update

Well, it has been a while since my last post. It has been rough here lately. My wife's grandfather passed away last weekend. He had been suffering for quite some time from multiple things with the main one being a blood clot in his lungs. My wife's family is real tight knit, and therefore this was very hard on them. But, at the same time they are releaved that he is no longer suffering and in a far better place.

Today I learned that my dad (only 57) had been back in the hospital again. His has had lung problems for a LONG time now. Starting about 9 months ago it really got worse. The doctor told him at the beginning of the year he could not travel anymore due to the fact that every time he did, he ended up in the hospital upon his return. His breething compacity had gone from 35% to 27%. He is on alot of prescriptions and breething treatments. After about 3 months, his compacity was back up to 33%. No one has been able to tell him why any of this is happening now. He has been to specialists in Jacksonville Florida, and also to Vanderbilt University.

He ended up back in the hospital the end of last weekend. Come to find out that now his breething compacity is down to 20%. So they gave him the option to stay in the hospital or go home and have care from home. He picked to go home. So now he has an IV at home and has to take all kinds of medicine to try to get better. Every couple of days a nurse comes by to bring him more medication and to take blood samples to see how much of the drugs are in his blood. Anyway, as many of you know, I missed our family vacation this year to have surgery on my nose (breething problems). It was in Hilton Head, where my dad and stepmom live, and I was able to talk my wife into taking the kids down to see them and go on the vacation even though I was having the surgery. Man, I wish I would have gone now. There is no telling if there will be one next summer or not.

Anyway, just keep my family in your prayers. It seems like gaming is one of the only things to help keep my mind off things.

Played COD Last Night!!!

Last night was the first time in a couple of months that I put up Crackhounds and played COD2. A lot of the guys that are on my CH squad are fellow COD players so we decided last night, since the war was close to being over, that we would all go over and play COD. It was me, Redman, BOOGIE, and Xevias (first time he played with 2O2P people) to start things out. Man, I really enjoyed that last night. I didn't realize how much I missed playing COD. Others joined in the fun as the night went on: Mixelpix, Tengu, HandyDoctor, DeltaT, Teufal, Louie and Echo. All I got to say is thanks guys for all the fun last night. We were all out of practice so it was fun seeing everyone run around and bump into each other . I am going to try to play some more this weekend. This just makes me want COD3 more!!!

Another Bad Feedback from CH!!

My Rep was always good until this game, and it is really not that bad now. Let me tell you what happened last night. We are running on the Biral Water Plant map last night. It was me, Schnauzer and Xevias I think. We are talking about strategy and decide to do something we hardly ever do, run a spiker. We pick base 2 and Schnauzer proceeds west to our base 1 to go through the small ridge at G0 while me and Xevias head up to the ridge at D. Me and Xevias get taken out pretty quickly against 2 all small cannon guys while we see the third one start to head back to the base. Once Schnauzer gets back in Com range we tell him that we are dead and that they know where he is. He ended up getting killed in the end. We get back to the lobby and shortly later someone said that his Rep had gone down. Come to find out, all of our reps went down, AFTER LOSING TO THEM!!!! I would have to say that that is a definate misuse of the Rep system.

Anyway, on another note, my daughter is still waking me up in the middle of the night to take her to the potty. I guess I will figure something out sometime. Also I can't believe my Dawgs just about lost that game on Saturday. The O-Line looked terrible, receivers were dropping passes that should have been caught (especially for a Freshman QB). It was horrible to watch until the fourth quarter when our third string QB came in to save the day. It will be interesting to see what happens this weekend against Old Miss. Hopefully we learned something this weekend and will come out and whip their ass. They need to have a good game to prepare for Tennessee next weekend!!!!! Oh yeah and BTW, if I haven't mentioned, my two favorite teams are Georgia and whoever is playing Tennessee!!!!

I love Chromehounds

I think the main reason I like it so much is the lobby structure. Being able to build a hound while at the same time talking to your teammates and getting help is really cool. I hope that more games incorporate this idea. I would suggest everyone try it (at least rent it) to see if they like it. If you can find a good group of people to play with, it makes all the difference. When this first came out, I said I would NEVER get it. Well, look at me now. It is pretty much the only game I play .

What to do with my 5 year old daughter!!!!

OK, I need some advice. My 5 year old daughter still comes in and wakes me up in the middle of the night when she needs to go to the restroom. Now the restroom is RIGHT BY HER DOOR and our bedroom is on the OTHER SIDE OF THE HOUSE!!!! I don't understand it. How it has been working lately is I go to bed at around 11:30 and then I am right about asleep at 12 and then here she comes. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper. I have talked to her about it and she really doesn't have an excuse as to why she is doing it. We keep a night light on in the bathroom so that it is not dark and yet she still comes to get me. I have tried bribing her and every thing and nothing works. I get up at 5:45 (my wife sets the alarm clock then and once the alarm clock goes off, I'm up). Now I should be eating it up and I try to remember that she will only be little for a little while, but I NEED MY SLEEP!!!

Has anyone been through this and have some advice for me?

My true first post!!!

Well, I thought I would actually try and do something here with my blog. I don't know how often I will post in it, we will have to see.

Well, let me start by introducing myself. My name is Erik and I live in Ringgold, Ga, which is about an hour noth of Atlanta, and 15 minutes south of Chattanooga, TN. I have lived in this area my whole life. I have been married now for 8 years and have 2 beautiful children (see top left) who get their good looks from their mother!!! I am the controller (Bean counter) at the Dalton Golf and Country Club now for over 6 years. I do play some golf, but not as much as I should!!!

I had been out of gaming for about 8 to nine years until this past April when I picked up my 360. I started out on GRAW and hated playing with timmies, so that is how I came to find this site (in May of this year). I then picked up COD2 and started playing with Nogame, Angelito and others to numerous to mention. I truely started loving gaming again due to the people from this site. Being out of gaming for so long, this was my first experience with online gaming.

Right now I spend most of my time playing ChromeHounds (2O2P-MK Squad). I am a Crackhound addict. I have started to take some time away, especially on Saturdays since college football is in full effect now (Go Dawgs!!!!) and my daugther has soccer games. And yes Nogame and Schnauzer, the SEC is the best conference in college football!!!!!

Another thing that is taking up alot of time in my life right now is our new puppy Max. He is a white Miniture Schnauzer and is 12 weeks old. We also have a 2 1/2 year old salt and pepper Miniture Schnauzer, Banjo, who is loving the new company. We added Max to our family when we had to get rid of our 2 cats due to my severe allergies. My daugter was crushed when she had to give away her cat (at least he is still in the family, my sister took him) so we added another dog.

Well, better run and get back to work. I just want to finish up by saying thanks to all the people I have run into from the site, especially Nogame and Angelito who were the first and made me truely fell welcome to the site. Thanks Doodi and DSmooth as well for making this site.
