"Free" Game downloads pt. 3

Ok, much to my chagrin a simple search on google for abandonware gave me a ton of sites besides the one I had mentioned in my earlier blog, so please disregard my last blog.  

However, if someone else out there is into the abandonware maybe you could let me know which site you like best so I can give it a shot.

"Free" Game downloads pt. 2....

Hi again Folks,

Well here's the scoop.  By placing the link as instructed into my last blog and then pasting my blog link into the proper space on their website I was allowed to download *1* game, which took all of 2 seconds to do.  Prior to that I had to download their game retriever software(quick download, nothing too serious) which has a place for a code which is given to you when you click the "Let me download now!" button after giving your blog link.  The code allows the dl software to grab the program off their servers.

I am now the proud owner of Bards Tale.  However, it doesn't appear as though I'll be the owner of Bards Tale 2 anytime soon.  You see the code is only good for *1* game.  When I tried entering the link to my blog again I was given a message stating that that link had already been used.  In other words you want another game you have to find another place to put a link.  Now I'm not totally internet dumb but neither am I the smartest of the bunch so does anyone have any idea, or know any place, where you can put a link repeatedly and not have the same address pop up?  I did a test and created a post in the City Dump forum(its now deleted), and put the link in there thinking that with each post the IP address in my broswer window would change.  However, their program apparently wasn't able to pick up their link inside my post or something like that.

I'm stumped and I'd appreciate any help you all could give me.  There's a ton of great games there just waiting to be placed on my computer - I just need to know how to do it!

"Free" game downloads...(?)

Hiyas folks,

Been awhile since I've blogged but recently I've been on sort of a nostalgia gaming kick.  That probably has to do with the NES, SNES, and N64 plus about 30 games that got dropped on me from a co-workers now out of college kid who didn't want them anymore.  Heck yeah I'll take 'em!  Free you say?  Even better.

Anyway, someone in one of the forums posted a link to an abandonware site and in return for posting a link on a blog(or other social networking site like myspace, etc) you are supposed to be able to download games.  Now I don't know if its one single game or multiple games so thats what I'm going to try to find out.  These games btw are old school, like Bards Tale and even older.   I'll report back in the blog here how it goes in case anyone else is up for some old time gaming.

Finished another game!

Hiyas folks,

Well actually I finished it a few weeks ago.  Dungeons and Dragons Heroes for xbox.  It wasn't a bad game.  Pretty much what I expected.  I just wanted to get it done so I could move on to something else.  That something else is Morrowind: The Elder Scrolls.  After diving into this game for the past week or so I dont' think this one will be so quick to finish.  I ordered the guidebook via Amazon and it came in the other day so I think that will help in a few areas.  Its definitely fun though and after playing it I can see why people were nuts over Oblivion, especially if Oblivion has better graphics and gameplay.  So to my clan DivXX and my other H2 friends thats where I've been the past couple weeks.  I promise I'll try to get back and play some H2 as soon as Thanksgiving is over.

I also picked up the demo for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.  Target had some demo discs for .99 and I figured it was worth less hassle for me to spend a dollar on a demo disc than to have to spend forever downloading it.  Well that was a wasted dollar.  I really didn't care for that game.  Yeah I know it was just a demo but still, it just wasn't any fun for me.  I grew up on the original Might and Magic game playing it on my Commodore 64.  I love the fact that the original came with map paper and so you could have all your maps for the different areas all nice and neat.  Very sweet.  If anyone knows where I can get that game and more importantly make it run on my current system(WinXp, 3.2mhz) please let me know.  A few years ago I picked up Might and Magic 6, and it contained several of the previous M&M games on it.  At the time I had an AMD Athlon 750mhz on Win98SE and the program for M&M 1, the only one I really wanted to play, wouldn't run on it.

Alright signing off now to go play some Elder Scrolls.

Don't know if anyone has heard of parkour before but its some pretty cool stuff.  Basically its moving through your environment without a major slow down or loss of speed while navigating obstacles.
