Darwin Awards

As 2006 comes to an end, it is time to reflect back on the year and remember some of the best of things. There are many different awards given out; the Oscars, the Grammies, the Billboard Music Awards…But my favorite awards given out each year are the Darwin Awards.  This year’s Darwin Awards are no let down to years past, as the top 10 are coming to a close, we have some great nominees.  From a guy with flammable cream on, deciding to have a smoke, at a hospital no less, to a priest who can’t swim but has faith he can walk on water, and a guy trying to disassemble a rocket propelled grenade with a sledgehammer (my personal favorite). These rewards highlight evolution in action and we may wonder how mankind has made it to the top of the food chain. I just hope, that no matter which Darwin winner takes home the crown for the most impressive self inflicted death, that the tree of life will continue to self remove these people before they can procreate.

Finally on XBL!

Gaming Steve

Stephen Glicker also known as Gaming Steve has been a gamer for most of his life. He has spent his career writing, designing, programming and consulting for games. He has been involved in a variety of different games and has an impressive resume for the gaming industry.  You may ask why do I care about Gaming Steve?  Well the reason I am telling you about him is that he does a pod cast every week or so and provides a lot of good gaming information (www.gamingsteve.com). I have been listening to his pod casts for a few months now.  He talks about a variety of games such as the highly anticipated game Spore.  He has covered spore several times now providing new information every time. I am personally very excited about it.  Gaming Steve seems to concentrate more on PC games than console games but he does talk about console games enough that it is still worth checking out.  Many times he has interviews for the developers of a game and a good analysis of what the game is or will be like. I hope you will check out his pod cast and let me know what you think of this blog as this is my first ever.
