Boring..kinda

I am sitting here at my desk. I am bored...kinda. I am listening to some classic rock. Except I really think it falls more in the vintage category, if there is such. If not, I am declaring one. Beginning with this vinyl I am listening to. I found it in  a flea market for two dollars. It is Crosby, Stills and Nash. No Young on this one. And I have no idea of the year released because there is no date anywhere on the cover or vinyl. The cover is great, no wear or tear. Has the song "Marrakesh Express". Anyway,  I have a turntable that hooks up to me pc, which allows me to import my vinyl collection. I have editing software also to edit all the scratches and pops from the vinyl. Really cool. So I thought I'd tell everybody about it.

There is only thing that kinda sucks about the whole process. You have to babysit the darn thing (turntable/software). Everytime the song ends you have to push the "new track" button. Otherwise you would end up with one long song on playback. I guess maybe I am a purist. When it is done its retrieves the song titles, and imports it to your music library, in my case iTunes. Well time to go.

Nothin’ Like Fresh Coffee

There is nothing finer that sleeping in till about 10 am and getting up for a leisurely cup of coffee. Now I have to say that I am a horrible klutz. Now you might say to yourself, what does that have to do with coffee? Well if you also are a klutz who loves coffee you might know where I am going with this. I have broken more coffee carafes than I probably care to admit to.

The latest lasted about six month after its initial damage. I smacked it into the faucet when I was cleaning it. It cracked and made a tiny hole in the side near the top. So, if I was real careful not to put too much water in the pot, I could still have fresh coffee and not have to bother going out to shop for a new one. Which worked to my advantage for about six months. Until of course I smacked it into the faucet again.

So now I really did have to go shopping for a new coffee pot. There should be trail periods for coffee pots. You know, so you can get a try it out for a week or so. I hate getting home with a new coffee pot and figuring out I can’t figure out how to program it right. The problem is, I don’t figure out that I programmed it wrong until the time the program is supposed to go off.

Anyway. I did go get a new coffee pot. It is easy to program and (insert drum roll here) it has …an…aluminum carafe. I can not believe my luck. It is easy to program and is almost impossible for me to break it. Two things that make a really good cup of coffee!! The other of course being the beans.

The Bear...

Hello everyone. I just finished reading "The Bear Went Over The Mountain" by William Kotzwinkle. He also wrote E.T. : The Extraterrestrial, among other things. The bear is a really good book. I was surprised by it. I bought it when it was first published in 1996. I can't believe that it sat all this time on my book shelves and I never picked it up before now. I recommend it highly. It is about a bear who finds a briefcase with a manuscript in it. i don't want to "say" too much about it, it might ruin it for someone who decides to try it out.

Not much else going on here. Heat and thanking god for inspiring someone to invent air conditioning.

Just finished making some meatballs for a spaghetti dinner tonight. I love cooking and someday hope to have my own bar and grill to serve up some of my specialties. I started cooking in a restaurant when I was 14. The chef / my teacher was a really cool dude who looked like Mr. Magoo, I mean exactly like Mr. Magoo. He was nearsighted and even had glasses like him too. He was a great teacher and friend who died when I was 15. The first times I ever ate any kind of seafood was then. I grew up poor Arkansas trailer trash (wow a living, breathing Arkansas cliché), boy I sure turned my life around since then.

Anyway,  here I sit. Maybe I'll play some COD4 or watch a movie. By the way, the new Harold and Kumar was pretty hilarious in some parts. Have a nice day everyone.

Saturday morning...

Hello to 2O2P!!

It's been a few days since I put some energy into this. I got my laptop back a few days ago. It was gone, repaired and back in less than a week. I could've used the desktop PC, but that is my "work" PC. I know, weird woman logic. So anyway, I have been busy with re-installing software and my music library (300 plus CD's). They replaced the motherboard and wi-fi hardware and all is good. Thank goodness for warranties. Sometimes they pay off. I made a trip to Oklahoma to visit the doctor. An expensive trip (gas, time) but had to go.

The heat here is cranking up, but it is summer. Funny to watch the news (40-29 local news). A few weeks ago they were whining about all the rain and we did break some records. Now they are whining about the heat. People are funny that way. The heat is really hard on Louie though. I have to take him out early in the morning and late in the evening. We walk a couple of miles twice a day. He is laying next to me on the couch right now and is snoring. I am watching CNN and typing all while drinking coffee right now. Politics, a necessary evil I guess. He said, he said. LOL.

I played Assassin's Creed for a few days. I didn't really care for it too much. Reminds me of Prince of Persia, which I loved and was able to beat. I hope that comes to the 360. I thought I saw a preview on the 360 that said it was. I may be wrong though and yes it wouldn't be the first time. I recently joined Gamefly. Works well for me. I would hate to pay 60 plus for a game I lose interest with in 2 days.

I got drunk a few nights ago with some of my condo neighbors. I live in a nice community by a golf course with walking trails and such. A variety of people, young and old. I think the older ones get drunk more than the young ones.

Well time for me to sign off, take a shower and plot my day. Some friends coming by to watch the new Harold and Kumar movie on my projection monitor TV. The best TV I have ever had not to mention the size is great while gaming.

Cya all around the cyberhood.
