T minus 22 hours

I received the automated gamestop message this evening letting me know i could pick up my copy of COD5 after 5 PM monday November 10th. WOOOOT.

For an update on my connection issue my router took a huge crap last night and early today. Thank goodness our guests brought a d link wireless N router with them. My connection is running smooth and handling all of the gaming and browsing we can throw at it. In case folks out there are looking at an alternative to the microsoft wireless adapter for the 360 you can use a apple airport express to connect wirelessly to your wireless network. just set it up using the airport utility to join an existing wireless network and plug your lan cable from the back of the 360 into the airport express. The airport express is a wireless n product runs about 99 bucks it can be used as a access point or a wireless bridge or to print wirelessly or plug in speakers and have play itunes wirelessly and you can have up to 13 of them on one network. very neat product.

So Far So Good

So far so good.

There are a lot of folks here and gaming has been a bit sketchy with all of the extra pull from the router but it's nice to have kids in the house again. i thought i was decent at rockband drumming. I was wrong. Apparently unless you play on expert you are a noob. who knew? Halloween was a blast with the kids in the house i felt bad i had to run a show and couldn't stay home to get crazy with the candy.

if anyone has any idea on a wireless n router that is worth a crap let me know i think we may need one . With 6 pc's and two 360's running now my internet connection has been very unstable. i don't know if this is the right fix but i have to do something trying to upload content to the web while they are gaming is painful.

Family Coming

As some of you already know my wife and I are going to be having some family stay with us for a couple of months. Really not that big of a deal usually. This time there will be an additional 2 dogs 2 cats 5 kids and 1 adult hanging out. We were just about ready to foster a new dog when we received word that my wifes brother was taking a job in Bermuda. I thought man how sweet would that be.......turns out that he will be commuting from South Carolina and their house is not done yet. So our medium sized 2400 sqft give or take a few sqft 3 bedroom home will become home for them for a few months. I am very anxious and nervous about the situation. It's going to be great having family for a few of the holidays. But what will happen to the man cave or clan night or hell even getting a chance to play (i curse alot). Sunday they arrive I will try to be ready.

On a positive foot I have the Maryville college home coming dance this weekend which is always a great time and I picked up a great halloween gig. I will be hosting and KJing a karaoke at The Irish Time Pub in the turkey creek shopping center party starts at 8:30 and Karaoke runs till midnight. If your in Knoxville TN on halloween stop in and say hi.

What a Hound What a Hound

I received word today that Gracie the foster dog has been adopted!!!!!! She did so well at her first fair and caught the eye of a very loving family who has submitted a application and passed the home inspection spent the entire time we were at petsmart with her. I let the families two children take her for a test drive around the store a few times. I am not sure if she had ever been on a leash before but she picked up on it quick first walking with 3 other dogs who are very good on a leash. The wife can't believe how fast she was adopted. It is hard to let these lovable clowns go once they open up and let you see the fun loving personalty they have. Friday evening will be a very happy and sad day for us. We are unsure if we will be getting a new foster in september or waiting a little bit friday could be a good benchmark with that. I think the most asked question at the adoption fair was. Is it hard to let these hounds go to someone else? My answer is with one of our dogs Izzy it was as we were looking for a dog and lost a dog to cancer at the same time we were fostering her. Any other time we have fostered we did not accept a dog into our home until we were in agreement that we would have to let them leave our home as well. here are a couple pics from the adoption fair one has the dad and son of the family that is adopting her hanging out with her. Gracie's first adoption fair

Today The wife and I will be at the Knoxville PetSmart in the turkey creek shopping center from 3 to 5. i am getting ready to take Gracie on a walk so she will be a little wore out for the fair. sometimes petsmart can be a little much for pups. If your in the area stop in and say hi. I'm not sure how many other pups from the group will be there. After we get home we are having a few peeps over for drinks rockband and karaoke. Although she will not be adopted today since our group checks into peoples living conditions before giving them a dog. Wish Gracie luck she is a great dog and deserves a great home.

Straight shot to the baby maker.....

Well after 4 of my own calls and several emails i got no where with comcast. The wife on the other hand makes one call.... one fricken call and all is back to normal. Nice..... Just to keep a little gravy in the bag i'm sticking to "I laid the ground work for that victory" Think she'll buy it? Damn you comcast damn you.

On the front with the foster dog Gracie things are great. We have cleared up her infection and she is throwing down on kibble with out having to soak it in soft food. Gracie is a cuddler. whether your sitting, standing, laying down, or smashing timmies she is right there snug as a bug in a rug at your feet or on your lap or curled up at your chest. she is doing great with the other dogs and cats. She no longer has an issue with food aggression. She does still struggle with alone time. What I mean is she does not like to sleep alone or be left by herself. She would be perfect for a multiple dog house. To increase her chances of success when i leave for the store or gigs she is crated away from the other dogs. She may bark for a few seconds but once she is told no a few times she quiets down. She has no patience to sleep in the open kennel at night. I have seen her tuck away in the Doggy tent we have but that tent is right next to the bed where she can see you are still in it. Heres a pic i took while writing this of her by my feet. the calm before the storm

after receiving a cable bill of over 300.00 today. after calling in july to change some of our service "saving us some doe" and to account for the summer off season. there could be a seething blog to come following the 3rd call to comcast today. stay tuned i will fill yall in even if it's fixed. update......... I will have to deal with this tuesday the man i need to speak with is out of the office.......to give a heads up to the problem the wife turned off the extra movie channels we had during the summer off season of some of the shows we watch which should have shaved about 40.00 a month from the bill. she then switched our phone service from one provider to these comcast crooks. which added 20.00 to our cable bill but saved us 30.00 a month so our cable bill should have been 20.00 cheapert than normal. we were told we were given a promotional rate for the phone and they would waive the install fee. they failed to waive the fee and then failed to tell us they would be charging us a pro rated fee higher than the promotional rate for a full months service for signing up for the service 10 days before the billing date. nor did they tell us that they would be billing us for 2 months and 10 days of the service in a single month. cable bill jumped from 160.00 month to 307.00. so i truely feel cheated and misled. to be fair the higher up that started to deal with this issue has left for the day so with the facts stated we will see were this goes.

Gracie Goes to the Vet

Gracie the Bagle. (Half basset hound half beagle) pictured with a headless deedle doo, Took a trip to the vet today. We have been having trouble getting this lovable snuggle pooch to eat and a lump showed up on her belly next to her spay incision. Having seen how dirty the wound and the dog were when we got her we were not going to take any chances on an infection. The news from the vet was a sad story but not a real health scare. Turns out that the lump that was growing on her belly was actually her mammary gland springing back to life from the nutrition she was now receiving (must be the dog snacks and vitamin tabs smothered in peanut butter thats all she has eaten). The doc said the scrapes all over her belly were actually marks from her pups feeding on her. Yep thats right some real douche bag let this pooch get pregnant then tossed her away after she had her litter of puppies. the doc thinks that her lack of eating is due to being separated from her young to early. she also has a little bit of an infection and gave us some antibiotics for it. we will start taking Gracie to adoption fairs when she is feeling better. She is already worming her way into my heart so i know she will make a great companion for a very lucky family. Half Right Face

New Foster Bagle Gracie

Hey Hey Hey......ahem......Well I have been super super busy. bathrooms look great. new tile baseboards and paint. We now have a new foster dog. she is available for adoption from belly rubs basset hound rescue here in knoxville. the group says that she is 2 however she is the most well behaved 2 year old we have ever met. she plays fetch like a champ releasing the toy with out even verbally asking. she is doing very well with the other dogs and cats. she is a tiny bit aggressive with food but not bad. i will work with her on this its more than likely from being in a shelter pen with another dog. she likes to snuggle for bed time right now i'm going to try and break her of this and get her to sleep in a open kennel. Gracie is really under weight and was spayed just before we got her. who does this.....this pup is in bad shape and on top of it they cut her open. the spay more than likely could have waited untill she was healthy. I promised some of the pork choppers i would post some pictures so with out further babbling Heeeeeerrrrrrrrreess GRRRRRACIE!!!!!!!!!!

Finally a break to catch up

Wow have i been busy weddings corporate events and softball throw in some home improvement projects and i am so worn out. The Mrs. put 2 bathroom remodels on the plate so i have been trying to squeeze in some games between the painting or laying tile.
Our spring softball season ended on a great note we lost three times all season and won our last three including taking down the first place team by 2 the last game. final record 5-3. What is it about playing ball that is so hard for people to continue to show up for i swear by the end of the season every team had to bend the rules a bit with the roster just to continue to play. we only lost one player this season due to injury (tore up his shoulder). We are currently recruiting to fill a fall league roster.
On the game front there are a few games that have caught my i gotta have it eye. One of them is civ rev. Although the demo is far to short to really get into some nasty combat it is just long enough to wet your whistle and leave you wanting to crush every civilization on an entire planet. I like the ablity to kick annoying mic eating timmys at any time and the ai will take over for kicked or early leaving players. I am a little disappointed with the delay of the U.S. release of this game as it is already out in Europe. i would not doubt that it has something to do with multiplayer issues for both Live and Sony. I noticed that starting a game was a bit sketchy at times even though in round gameplay was smooth. moving on I am going to wait on the bad company band wagon as it just hasn't impressed me enough. ut3 is probally going to be a purchase i will make as well. till next time. I had a blast the wife caught me trying to crank that soldier boy. She says the you part of the song yooouuu while pointing at me and laughing. Obviously i'm not the best dancer in the world. I've been busy updating the website and preparing for the largest event I will have booked so far. An orthopaedics group company picnic in market square downtown knoxville. they are having a carnival in the square and i am going to provide karaoke to a select few as well as some background music and make annoucements. It might not seem like a big deal but it is to me the exposure i will get from this event will hopefully make us some serious coin this summer. enjoy the videos. Half right face

FTW!!!

Sons O'Pitches FTW!!! 13-3

Last night i almost thought i was going to chuck. 1st at bat i was walked. its slow pitch softball i really want to hit the ball but nerves must have had the pitcher going he was throwing pitches that were at best 4 ft high. 2nd at bat he has calmed down and i stroke the ball to deep right center for a in the park homer. Our daughter took a ball of the noggin but is fine with a shiner. she walked her first at bat doubled her second. My third at bat I was so tired from all the running i had to hit the inhaler the doc gave me 2 twice before approaching the plate. I watched the first meatball of a pitch go by strike 2. men start with one strike in this league. then three pitches pass that were about 3 feet short of the plate. finally with a full count a nice 10ft hanging meat ball comes floating in. I swear i was drooling by the time i was swinging. I clocked the ball sending it for a no hop off the center field fence 3 run in the park homer.We played with 9 missing a guy who just decided he wasn't going to show up. No notice.Nice commitment. so we took an out at the end of our line up each time thru. costing us three outs in total. the Sons O'Pitches played very very well tonight. everyone when given a decent ball to hit stroked it. I had to play center field baseball style with only 3 of us out there an myself being the only one who really could cover the ground between positions for back up. I swear i must have lost 5 pounds and run 3 miles. Normally i would have three others out there with me and i stager them the lines play up a bit further than left or right center and we of course adjust men or women hitters leftys (hooks) or rightys. All in all a great outing for us. The best part was walking back to the dugout after slapping hands the ump yells out at us "NICE GAME YOU SONS O'PITCHES." made us laugh all the way to the pub. feeling better

Greetings readers,

I woke up this morning feeling much better. still stuffy but better. Softball tonight late game which means i wont have to deal with the setting sun in my eyes. I'm pretty stoked about the weekend live fire for cod4 as well as getting to dj the college crowd again. I always have a blast mixing for the college crowd. I have never been to the venue that they have selected. it is a newly remodeled reception hall in the foothills of the smokey mountains roughly a 45 minute jaunt from home. the area it's in is very pretty and not very populated. which is odd since it's only about 10 minutes to downtown maryville tn. There is a stage although i am not sure i want to set up on it or not guess i'll make up my mind when i get there. every thing is hammered out for this event except for being payed. with the large number of people that will be attending i will try to get some video this time, as well as put out a tip jar. thats all i got it's a great day sunny warm.
