The Speech........

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context
his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration
over population conference in Washington, DC, filled to capacity by many
of America's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by
the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, "Mexifornia,"
explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the
entire state of California. He said it would march across the country
until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.

Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave
a stunning speech on how to destroy America. The audience sat spellbound as
he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States. He
said, "If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too
rich, then let's destroy America. It is not that hard to do. No nation in
history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all
great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would
show that all great nations commit suicide.'"

"Here is how they do it," Lamm said: "First, to destroy America, turn
America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country." History
shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of
two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an
individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be
bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: "The
histories of bilingual and bi-cultural societies that do not assimilate
are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy." Canada, Belgium, Malaysia,
and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press
for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria
suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques,
Bretons, and Corsicans."

Lamm went on: Second, to destroy America, "Invent 'multiculturalism' and
encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. Make it an article of
belief that all cultures are equal That there are no cultural differences.
Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are
due solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other
explanation is out of bounds.

Third, "We could make the United States an 'Hispanic Quebec' without much
effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin
Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: "The apparent success of
our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not
by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated
ethnocentricity and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only
tolerance and pluralism to hold us together." Lamm said, "I would
encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the
melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to
ensure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America enforcing
their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their
similarities."

"Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic
group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated,
undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this
second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school."

"My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations and
business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic
identity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology.' I would get all
minorities to think that their lack of success was the fault of the
majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure
on the majority population."

"My sixth plan for America's downfall would include dual citizenship, and
promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would
stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are
mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they are not killing
each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most
historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a
nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they
belonged to the same race; they possessed a common Language and
literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic
games. A common enemy, Persia, threatened their liberty. Yet all these
bonds were not strong enough to overcome two factors: local patriotism and
geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell.
"E. Pluribus Unum" --From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the
emphasis on the 'pluribus' instead of t he 'Unum,' we will balkanize
America as surely as Kosovo."

"Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits; make it taboo to
talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.' I would find a word
similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and
paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and
debate. Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having
established multi-culturism, having the large foundations fund the
doctrine of 'Victimology,' I would next make it impossible to enforce our
immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has
been good for America, it must always be good. I would make every
individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of
millions of them."

In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound
silence followed. Finally he said,. "Lastly, I would censor Victor Hanson
Davis's book "Mexifornia." His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to
destroy America. If you feel America deserves to be destroyed, don't read
that book..."

There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud
above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew
that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly,
darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today.

Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the
foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even
barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as
we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as
corporations create a Third World in America - take note of California and
other states - to date, ten million i llegal aliens and growing fast. It
is reminiscent of George Orwell's book "1984." In that story, three slogans
are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: "War is peace," "Freedom
is slavery," and "Ignorance is strength."

Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the
conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is
deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster
stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and
destroy everything in its path especially The American Dream.

Where has my country gone?

We live in the greatest country in the world. The freedoms we enjoy today and continue to enjoy have been bought and are still being bought with precious blood from great women and men of this fine country.

One of the great things about this country is how throughout history we have been a melting pot for others to come live here and become an American citizen. They used to adopt our lifestyle, our language, our culture and our way of life. My country is turning into a salad bowl instead of a melting pot. Let me explain. The melting pot saying was because immigrants to this country melted in and accepted the way Americans do things, because we live in the greatest country in the world they wanted to be a part of it. We must have been doing something right for everyone to want to come live here, right? With the country now turning into a salad bowl, we have croutons, cheese, ham, bacon bits, romaine lettuce, tomatoes and whatever else you can think to put in a salad. This diversity of cultures coming in and keeping their own and not adapting the American way of life is slowly eroding this country.

Wait you say! You say this diversity is what makes this country great! In a manner yes, but mostly no. Why? Being a natural born citizen I now have to read labels on items at the store written in Spanish. I now have to thumb through radio stations that are broadcast in Spanish. I now have to listen to hundreds of people at the local store jibber-jabber in Spanish. If America is so great that you want to come here and live, then adopt OUR way of life. If you want to keep your own culture, go back where you came from.

Why do we have Asian-Americans? Why are there African-Americans? Why can't we all just be "Americans"? I don't call myself a "European-American", I'm just an American! United we are Americans, divided we are Mexican-Americans, African-Americans, Arab-Americans...

What part of Illegal is gray? If I go out and commit an "illegal" crime, I have to pay the consequences. If a person is here illegally and they are breaking our laws of being here illegally, why aren't they paying the consequences? I have another post I'll make with an interesting speech made by a congressman that ties to this blog entry, take time to read it.

Holiday traffic makes me a hermit!

I live in a small town in the rural midwest, I was born and raised in an even smaller town south of my current living location whose population was 900, including the cats and dogs.  I'm by no means a city person, nor do I much care to be in a bigger city.  It amazes me each time the wife and I head to a bigger nearby city to eat out, or catch a flick, of how many stupid drivers there are.  I realize that the the big cities around SW Missouri are small compared to KC and St. Louis, but they have to be a microcosm of drivers every where.  Drivers are becoming more stupid by each passing day, but this time of the year they just come crawling out of the woodwork. 

Some examples I saw this weekend in town, after a short description of weather conditions, as this comes in to play.  The weather for Saturday was rainy and foggy, visibility was not even 1/4 of a mile.  It was semi dark and was just a good day to stay in and sleep.

Drivers I saw:

Light Free - driver isn't smart enough to turn his lights on, I'd be surprised if they were smart enough to come in out of the rain in the first place.  Lights aren't on, and no one is home in these people's heads. 

AstroNotOnThisPlanet's - this guy is on his cell phone making a left turn, and he just stops in the middle of the intersection for a good 5 seconds on a green light.  He didn't bother to move until about 50 cars started honking at him.  He probably works for NASA as his brain wasn't on this planet.

Cole Trickle's - you know the type, bob and weave in traffic..."make a hole buddy because I'm coming in"... typically in rural midwest USA you do not see these types and most people are courteous and will let a person in if they will just turn their blinker on.

Blinkie McNoBlink's - how many cars I seen not use a turn signal until 1ft from the turn when there are cars backed up and zooming around to get to where their going faster.  Tailgate these people at your own risk.

Dually Dooley's - gigantic extended cab, 4wd, jacked up diesel dually driver......dude, why?  In a major city(as major as it gets in hicktown)?  If the sun was out these vehicles would block it out, thrusting the rest of us into perpetual darkness.

Get Off My Bumper or Your Gonna Eat It - no description necessary, name says it all.


Thank goodness our Christmas shopping is done, another trip and I would go postal on someone!

Single file line please

So the wife and went to enjoy the new Transformers movie on July 4th and was extremely pleased with the movie.  I was however not to pleased with the behavior of people at the theater.  As children growing up through HS, grades K-12 we are taught constantly to form single file lines.  Single file line to the cafeteria, to the bathroom, so on so forth.  Seems like all those years of conditioning are just thrown out the window as people become adults.  Standing in line for the movie there was no form of single file line whatsoever behind or in front of the wife and I.  People just spread out, butt in line, push, shove, whatever they can do to jockey for a better position in a line.

We had waited in line for about 15 minutes and our position was around 8th in line.  This one joker from the rear of the line comes up and starts talking to a father and son in front of us and just helps himself into a position right in front of us in line.  I made several LOUD comments to my wife about the rudeness of people butting in line in front of those that have actually been standing here waiting.  Seeing as how I didn't want to be overtly rude and just tap the guy on the shoulder and ask him to return to his original spot, I just let it slide.  Ever fiber of me wanted to ask this jerk to move his butt back, but I refrained for my wife's sake and the sake of causing a big scene.

Honestly, how hard is it to stand in line single file?
