Now I know how it feels
A coupe days ago, my beloved 360 died. There were no warning signs, just 3 red lights. I always used to laugh at people who lost their 360 to the ring of death, because I thought it'd never happen to me. Now who's laughing? I tried everything I could, but I couldn't revive it. You probably know what the story is... you send it back to Microsoft in a coffin and they'll send you back a referbished one. They told me the process could take longer than a month, and I just about broke down and cried. I play every day for the love of god!The next day I was thinking about getting another one, but the guy at the game store offered me a rental for $80. He said I could keep it until I get mine back. Although it really sucks to have to pay $80 out of the blue like that, I was glad there was a solution other than spending $500 on a new one.
So the moral of the story is - never laugh at others misfortunes, it will always come back to you one way or another.
RIP Byrd Box

Greatest hits records suck.
I’m sitting at my desk at work right now, and it’s four O’clock in the afternoon. I don’t have anything to do right now – and I’m just trying to look busy until the clock strikes five. The truth is, I hate these times – I’d rather be busy just so the time passes by faster. I’ve got Van Morrison on iTunes. Astral Weeks. I don’t recall liking this album that much before, but right now it really seems to be striking me. That happens a lot… I listen to music for the first time, and dismiss it quickly. But sometimes I go back to it and it really hits me the second time. Right now, Van sounds like an angel.I have a lot of trouble with music, because I hate Greatest Hits albums. I refuse to listen to them because it’s not a good capture of time in the bands career for me. I hate listening to one song, and then next you hear a song that was recorded five years later. That’s not listening to music to me. I really like to fall into the mood, or the theme of a specific album and just get lost in it. It’s hard to do that with greatest hits records because the moods and themes are very inconsistent. This also ruins listening to the radio for me... because for one – nobody plays the music I like, and two, the music is all over the place. How can you listen to Crazy Train right after you just heard Heart of Gold? I’ve never been able to make a successful mixed tape either, because it’s not easy to keep it consistent. I try to keep it in the same era or in the same tone of mood, and it always just blows up into what I didn’t want in the first place.
Thanks to Mr. Morrison for helping me get through the day. By the way, I just picked up MLB 2K7 and am really looking forward to playing it tonight.

The world is going to end!
Just as a warning, this blog entry isn’t mean to scare anybody. I would just like to call it interesting information. So here it is…For the past four years, I’ve been an avid listener of a talk radio program called “Coast to Coast AM.” It usually starts at midnight and runs until 5AM. The topics covered are usually those that don’t exist in the mass media – things like UFO’s, the paranormal, unique discoveries and etc… The host of the show usually invites a guest that is a specialist in the particular field of the subject for the night. I don’t usually believe everything I hear, but I always find it interesting.
Lately, they’ve been having a lot of discussions about the end of civilization. I am by no means a scientist, or even understand this information thoroughly - but I’ll try and explain.
The popular theory they were discussing comes from Mayan civilization and a calendar they Mayan people developed many years ago. It states that in December of 2012, our earth will come to the end of its current cycle and reset itself. The plane of our Solar System will line up exactly with the plane of our Galaxy, the Milky Way. This will cause the earth to somewhat implode, pushing the equator inwards about 10 miles and immediately back outwards to its previous position.
What does this mean for us you ask? While this is happening, scientists believe that land and water as we know it will be reversed. All land will become the sea, and what’s beneath the sea will become land. This will probably happen so fast that you won’t feel a thing. We will be submerged 100 ft below water before we realize what’s going on. There is apparently proof of this: just of the coast of Japan – there is apparently a sunken city about 5 times the size of New York and another one located near Brazil that have been discovered. Also, at the top of some mountains – there has been choral reef-type landscape discovered. This means that the earth has already been through other cycles.
A lesser-known thought presented on the show is that our solar system is about to be hit by a giant cosmic dust cloud within the next ten years that will completely cover and exterminate anything it touches. There have been discoveries of a “cosmic dust” layer while digging deep down below the earth’s surface, which means that this has happened before. The dust apparently sticks around for about 3000 years preserving everything underneath it.
So, we have a lot of possibilities here - a giant cosmic dust cloud, earth implosion, asteroids, the sun exploding, disease, global warming and aliens taking us over. I hope none of them happen, (well, the alien one might be kinda cool) but only time will tell.
So who’s up for Lost Planet tonight?

P.S. If you want further info on the destruction of civilization, I’d recommend listening the Coast to Coast AM, or goggling “Mayan calendar.”

Welcome to me!
Here I am sitting in my comfy seat on the 7th floor of a top advertising agency located in downtown Toronto. Once in a blue moon, I get some downtime – and can do stuff like sit here and ramble. I’m finally set up on the site, and glad to be here. I’m a more mature gamer, and it’s finally time to say goodbye to the Timmy’s. I picked up the 360 on launch day, and playing live was great because it seemed Timmy’s mom couldn’t afford a new toy for her oh so annoying son yet. I was playing with gamers that seemed to be on the more mature side, and it was great. Now that the 360 is in full motion, and we have games like Gears – the Timmy’s are back! I’ve been playing with a few 2o2p members for a while now, and I figured its time to get acquainted with the rest of the group. So here I am.I spend a lot of time playing games (mostly on the 360), and I’m looking for a group that is consistently online and ready to game. These days I’m into Gears, R6V, Chrome Hounds, Lost Planet, COD3, a bit of BS Midway, and Ghost Recon. As I mentioned I hate playing with Timmy, so I want to play private rooms with only mature adults. That way we can have fun and not worry about being spawn killed, muting voices, and being disappointed so often. I’m not really that competitive, but I can be in the right situations – such as clan matches.
I’ve got to run to a meeting very shortly, so look for me around – I’ll be online. I’ll try and keep a regular blog going after I get all of this “I’m a newbie” shit out of the way. See ya around.
