Things I shake my head at.
I was listening to a popular talk radio program the other day and the topic about the economy and the hard times people are having came up. A caller from Texas said his name was Leo was informing the host how hard it is to make ends meet with the economy being so bad. He mentioned he was employed at what sounded like a good job. The host asked for specific examples from this caller. Leo's example was he used to be able to afford 5 girlfriends but things are so bad he can only afford 1 girlfriend now. Gee never thought of it that way.

Vente'
I had to make a quick stop by the mall today on my way home from work. I love hot chocolate and it was chilly out so I decided to stop on my way out and pick me up a cup. Starbucks just happened to be right on my way to my car so I stopped in. I usually only go to Starbucks 3 or 4 times a year so I'm not very familiar with the "Starbucks" lingo. I was the only customer in there, walked up to the counter and asked for some hot chocolate. The way too perky girl behind the counter asked me, " What size?" I asked "what sizes do you have?" She pointed to 3 cups with unreadable handwriting on them which looked like small, medium and large. I said "I'll take the middle one." She said " Grande?" I said " the middle one" she said "Grande?" I said " the middle one". I think she gave up and charged me for the middle one. Way too long later a young man asked me if I wanted whipped cream on my "Grande" hot chocolate. I told him no. He looked a little puzzled so I guested I was the first person to ever order hot chocolate without whipped cream. He handed me my drink and that's when I realized a Grande hot chocolate at Starbucks is really a middle cup half full of lukewarm chocolate milk. So now I know if I want the middle cup of hot chocolate full order the large cup which will come half full but how do I get it hot?Posted by TheLibrarian @ 5:07 pm EDT | Permalink | 4 Comments

Kick them where?
Anyone who knows Big knows he likes his electronical gadgets (understatment)
. So Saturday morning the satelite man finally came to install a new satelite dish. This was the fourth appoinment to get the guy to our house. After an hour or so the satelite man informs Big he needs to call the company and check on a few things. The man tells Big he needs to see the card from the other receiver so he can verify service has been deactivated to that receiver. Now I am painting my living room and not really paying attetion to their conversation until Big explained to the man we had had this receiver for over a month and nothing needed to be deactived and then he dropped the hammer and I quote Big " If they deactivate my receiver again I'm going to go down there and kick them in the nuts"
. Now I know he had a late night of Halo and was lacking in the sleep department but wow don't touch his gadgets

First Day Back
Today was my first day back to work since I started my vacation 2 weeks ago. I must admit I was not looking forward to going back. Let's just say I'm not too excited about my job. Anyway I was expecting a mountain of mail and numerous phone messages upon my return. To my amazement I didn't have much mail and only 3 phone messages. Now I wonder "Gee what do I do here everyday if I can be gone for 2 weeks and be caught up within 3 hours"? Anyway I still wasn't happy to be back but as co-workers started coming in and asking me how my vacation was I couldn't help but show them the thread of Dallas LAN pictures.
If anyone of importance walked by my office while I was showing people the thread they would have thought we were high. We were laughing so hard, especially at the captions and comments to the pictures. For weeks before my vacation all I could do was talk about going to Texas and how much fun it was going to be. When I explain what a LAN party is to people they look at me like I'm a freak for wanting to take time off work to do that.
After showing them the pictures it made me realize, man you guys are fun and funny. It was so hard explaining some of the pictures and why they were so funny. Anyway I'm back to work and I have all my Texas souvenirs scattered around my office to remind me of my Texas trip.

GT Librarian
I’m fascinated with GTs. I want to know how you guys came up with them. I know some of them are your names, careers or hobbies but since I’m still pretty new to this whole scene I always have to ask Big0ne who people are and did I meet them at the Chicago LAN?
If I met you at the C-LAN I’m probably not pronouncing your GT correct and that confuses me even more. Now here’s a little story to explain why I want to make sure I am pronouncing your GT correctly. Thursday night at the C-LAN Big0ne introduced me to about 7 guys using their GTs and I was Mrs. Big0ne for the rest of the weekend.
I remembered most of their GTs later that night and the next day. I didn’t understand one of the GTs and I’m not easily offended but I pride myself on being a lady and what I thought I heard was not something I was going to repeat or call a person. I’m talking about Tait. The rest of the night and the next morning I kept referring to him as the tall, blonde guy that sat across from me at diner. I’m sure Big0ne used his name but I was hearing something else and didn’t want to have to ask for clarification. The next day Big0ne, the tall, blonde guy, scotib and myself spent the afternoon site seeing downtown Chicago.
I spoke with the tall, blonde guy but I’m sure I did not address him by his name. Anyway later that night Big0ne was hanging around with the tall, blonde guy and scotib. I noticed the name tag hanging from his neck and said “Oh your name is Tait”.
Of course we had to have a very funny and descriptive discussion about what I thought his GT was. (I’m still not going to say it) So what does all of this have to do with my interest in how people come up with their GTs? I still mispronounce a lot of the GTs so if I’m in a game with you sorry. And to explain my GT I’m not a Librarian. My GT was bestowed on me by Tait and now I have to explain to everyone why he calls me The Librarian. Let’s just say Absinthe…..
