It's official

I'n no longer a bachelor. Michelle and I headed down to Binghamton Friday afternoon and checked into the hotel, everybody met at the Majors Inn in Gibertsville yesterday and we had us a swinging shindig

Been a while ...

I know it's been a very long time since I blogged. Well I've had alot going on in my gaming world. As many of you know I've been heavily involved with what used to be the 2old4duty clan around here.

Well they were shut down when they made their own online community and many of the members packed up and moved over there.

I'm one of them. I have alot of fun with those guys and girls, they remind me why I play games in the first place. I'll still be around here once in a while and checking my messages but not as much as I used to.

PS I have no idea why my blog icon always appears as NSFW, I always leave that box unchecked when I post. Stupid glitches.

Just about done

I'm seriousy about to give up gaming period. I haven't been able to play online in weeks. It all started with my 360 headset screwing up and cutting out on me, at first I thought it was just lag but it did it with private messages in the dashboard too. Then it stopped working altogether.

I've tried everything to fix it.

I've cleared the cache

Made sure the NAT is open

Tried multiple headsets with multiple controllers

Made sure my mic settings were set for everyone.

Even used a hard-wired controller to make sure it wasn't being caused by interference from my wireless router.

Xbox support suggested all of these things again and I went through them over and over. Nothing works.

Finally today I bought a brand new ultra spiffy Xbox 360 Elite. Got it all unwrapped and hooked up and toom it for a test fragging. It worked just fine, so problem solved right? Yeah, so I thought. I've been fighting with it all over again and on the phone with support for the last 2 hours because it's doing it again.

It's like the mic isn't even there. It makes that litle popping sound when you first plug it in so I know it's reading that the mic is there. But no one can hear me and it doesn't record my voice at all.

At all.

The only thing that saved that Elite from being smashed all over my driveway is the fact that I can still get a $450 refund for it.

I'm seriously pissed like you've never seen and I may not be back.

The real face of the war

I accidentally stumbled across this website while looking for some renders for photoshop. An image grabbed my attention so I opened it up and it took me to this website. At first it was like one of those deals with a car crash, you just can't look away.

But then I actually read the comments and started getting pissed off. People saying that they hope we lose the Iraq war and things like that just to teach the US a lesson. I have friends in the military and us losing means they could very well die.

That pisses me off. If you don't like the fact that we're at war then FINE. Quite frankly I don't like it either, but I don't wish our own countrymen dead because of it!

Apparently according to the original article, US soldiers are submitting photo's of dead Iraqi's to a website so they can gain access to porn. This watchdog website is screaming foul according to the Geneva Convention.

Part of me agrees (if it's true) part of me understands that human's can be desensitized once they've seen enough of this type of violence so they might not have the respect for a corpse that they should.

This website has me very conflicted.

sigh

Went to our monthly meeting at work this morning.

I sat through the entire hour long boring ass speech just so I could talk to the CEO afterward. Turns out he's not really pissed at me for getting hurt on the job anymore and is blaming my supervisor for not being notified.

Oh and I have nothing to do but sit home and wait until Friday before I might be able to work again. Thats when I go back to Urgent Care to have them see how well I'm healing.

I'm watching you

Last Friday I was on a job site, standing at the back of a dump truck pouring asphalt into a large cut out section of the street. Suddenly a car came flying through the construction zone and hit one of the orange barrels positioned directly behind me.
The barrel flies into me hitting me in the back and knocks me into the pit.
It was only a short drop, I landed on my feet, dusted myself off. Shook my fist at the driver while swearing and went back to work.

Here it it a week later, and I finally went to urgent care yesterday because my left heel had been sore all week and the heavy limping was slowing me down. After they took some x-rays it turns out I have a bone chip and a fracture in my heel. So now I'm on crutches for at least a week which means I can't work.

So to all of you out there that don't know how to slow down through a construction site, next time you may have somthing heavy like a damn jackhammer come smashing through your windshield.

SLOW DOWN!

Iron Man

Being a semi-reformed comic book nerd but still a fan of Marvel, I had to go see this movie. It is hands down the best Marvel Comics movie yet. Better than X-Men, better than Spider-Man, worlds above The Hulk, Fantastic Four, and Ghost Rider.

Go see it, it's completely awesome, Robert Downey Jr's portrayal of Tony Stark was spot on, he was the perfect choice. The even stuck to the character history and comic storylines very very close.

It's worth the theater price.

Stay and watch all of the credits, there is a scene at the end where Stark comes home and Nick Fury is waiting for him to ask him to join the Avengers. If you've read or seen the cartoon of The Ultimates, you'll know they made Nick Fury a black man. In The Ultimates comic in the beginning they were all sitting around one day discussing who would play them in a movie about their lives, Fury says Samuel L Jackson would play him.
Well he's right because thats who plays Nick Fury in the Iron Man movie!!!!

Gone to Iraq

Some of you know my friend 31iMiN473. He and I game together on live alot. He's actually my closest friend in real life. We met when we were kids and went through school together, graduated together, lotta history there.

He joined the Army about a year and a half ago despite my best best efforts after already serving in the Navy for 6 years. He's an officer and has a company of his own to command and everything. He left for Germany back in September and has been stationed there every since.

Today he was deployed to Iraq.

...

He's supposed to be going there to train the new Iraqi military. Makes me feel real good after hearing yesterday on the radio that the Iraqi military is surrendering to insurgents.
Please keep him in yours thoughts and prayers.
