Life has kind of sucked lately. Lost my job and my I'll be moving soon in the future.

I have been playing some stuff lately. I beat Nanostray for the DS. I also have been playing Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Both are fantastic games. I've been playing Crackdown for the 360 and I beat that in an amazing 20 hours or so of play. I'm about half-way through the achievements.

I did succumb and pick up GRAW2. Which has totally screwed my play-style. The cover is different. The gameplay in multiplayer was fun but it still has problems with running & gunning. Instead of a more plodding or slower tactical game. I'm mostly having a hard time adjusting to the style of gameplay. It is very nice to be outside for once instead of inside like in R6:V.

I haven't messed with XNA nearly as much as I would've liked lately either.

I've also been dating a bit and that's been rather cool. More gaming updates to follow with luck.

Unit 13; reporting for duty.

Well I've been doing a sick amount of Rainbow 6: Vegas lately. I really love the game. However I've been interested in branching out and revisiting other games that I have and enjoy. It's been consuming the 2Old4Tactics clan for a while now. I feel like I've really grown my skills and improved since joining the clan and playing regularly.

It's time to revisit another love of mine.

Chromehounds.

I've not played it a while. I've been a bit skittish about playing it, it pretty much destroyed ChewdyFu's Xbox 360 and gave it the red-circle of death. It has been acting a bit flakey for me as well. I put it into the console today and it had a game update from their patch system. So hopefully that will address the problems. It's probably one of the most fickle games I own or have seen.

I contacted the Chromehounds thread about joining up with a squad. So we'll see how that goes. I played a Sniper the majority of the time. I had a Soldier class mech I would use as a 'stand-in' on maps that weren't Sniper friendly. I really was just beginning to play a Commander. I think I could do a good job of one as well too; so it's a role and class I'm very interested in exploring and practicing. A part of me really enjoys the "dispatch" aspect of it, head-down watching the radar monitor and providing intel to the team or orchestrating things a bit more strategically. Instead of always in the trenches thinking tactically.

We'll see how that goes. I've been really missing it lately. In fact my ranting about Chromehounds and the incredible amounts of fun i was having with it, actually convinced a friend of mine at work to pick up an Xbox 360. Sadly shortly after that I went into a lull and didn't so much as even pop the disc into the console in fear that it'd slag my system as well.

So on that note! I'm looking forward to getting back into Chromehounds!!

Warm Welcomes Abound!

Well thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. It was pretty nice to see some comments and replies already and even a friend request. I have a great time playing with everyone as well. Some of the best memories lately, that's for sure! The only other things that even come close were playing some original GR back in the day on XBL. Which is where I learned I had a taste for the tactical style of shooters.

Good times!

I've got some stuff going on tonight. So I won't be around until late tonight if at all. I've got something of a date lined up with a gal locally. We'll be seeing Circus Contraption which is doing an all ages show tonight as a pre-New Years event extravaganza. We'll see how the show goes or how other things go after the show.

In other news I've been dabbling and looking at the XNA Game Studio Express from MS. I work with software for a living, but the option to do something of my own has been really alluring. We'll see how that goes, with luck I can hopefully spend some time and get a rough proof-of-concept done this weekend. In-between being a not-so-closet workaholic and getting some gaming in as well.

Speaking of software I just spent $50 yesterday and I bought some shareware. I just kicked down to get a license for Charles. Which is a handy web-proxy, very useful for debugging web-apps and that sort of thing. Worth the cash IMHO and I'll be writing it off on my taxes.

I'm debating on buying a Lego Mindstorms Kit or not. I've got the RFID kit from PhidgetsUSA. I should probably make some progress on that first before I go spiraling off onto other projects that are "shiney", etc.

Back on the gaming front I'm wanting to beat my record for Assault Heroes on XBLA. I've been enjoying that to no end. I also want to complete Gears of War on Insane difficulty. Those two things as well as some gaming on my DS have been keeping me pretty well occupied.

Now I'm off to get back to work and head off to that concert/event. Thank you one and all and so far the site and community has been a rock'n place.
