So we just opened our presents and I wanted to post about a little gift that my girl got me. She has been watching play Left 4 Dead quite a bit recently and then came across this book.

Feeling the Love at Art Of War

Earlier today I was in a bit of a funk, feeling that people in general have been using the economy and life in general as an excuse to be jerks to one another. I work two jobs, both retail-related, and interact with John Q. Public on a daily basis. Over the past month, many of these interactions have left me drained and with little faith in my fellow human beings. It is as if people have decided that everyone else is fair game for catching crap brought up by the stresses of the season, the economy and the world in general. On top of all of this, My girlfriend got rear ended by another car for the second time in less than six weeks yesterday. She is ok and the car (new to her after her last one was total in accident # 1) is not that banged up. The jerk who hit her decided that he had the right to scream at her, even though he ran into her. She called me yesterday, understandably upset and feeling overwhelmed. Good thing for both the jerk and me that I was not in the car with my girl, cause him yelling at her would have been the final straw and I would probably be in a holding cell right now.

So fast forward to today. People are still acting like asses as I go through the various chores I need to cover on my day off. I come back home, ready to break stuff, and the doorbell rings. On the stoop I find a HUGE package from my clanmate Lucifer's Pearl. She had let me know tha she was sending me some cool GOW stuff that she had, but what I found made me really appreciate being in Art Of War with some of the coolest people in gaming. Pearl changed my mood and my outlook with a simple act of kindness and thoughtfullnes. Thank you Pearl - you rock Chica!

First, The coolest gift I have gotten this year so far - A HUGE Gears 2 Window graphic. This thing is very nice and very big. It came in four panels. It is so big that I could not get the entire thing in one pic, so below are two halves (top & bottom). This thing is going up in my house (as soon as I can convince my girl to put it up that is).

It is nice to have this type of reminder how good friends can make a bad day turn good simply by being good friends. This is what Art Of War is all about, good friends and good times.
