Patience

I was playing in two Gears of War rooms last night, and I just wanted to compliment the process that went down.

We didn't have two full rooms, but more than 8 people on for Gears. So we communicated through messages on XBL and ended up having two rooms of 6. We were able to trade players if one room got full and another wasn't. It was just an impressive process and everyone involved worked hard to keep the games going. Great job guys!

It was also of course helpful that some people were patient and waited for their spot to open up. Patience is the key when dealing with XBL. It's slow and not the greatest for sending out bulk messages. I felt that last night caused some completely un-necessary reactions with another clan member. Don't think that people don't want to play with you just because they don't invite you within 5 minutes of coming online. It takes time when rooms are full. Go play an arcade game to pass the time, or the campaign even. You'll get an invite just be PATIENT.

Changing My Name

So I've been thinking about changing my name now that I'm more familar with the gaming community. I've always played games, but this is the first experience I've had with online gaming.

So everytime I try to pick something I get kind of emotional about losing my original name, but I'd like something more creative. I like the nickname I've gotten from YesImaGirl25 (YIG), and truly the nickname is the only attachement I have to the name. It'd be cool if I could find something different that could still incorporate YIG, but I don't see that happening.

Words I've thought about incorporating (only because I like the way they sound):

Lusty - meaning tough
Alluring - meaning attractive
Divine
Delicate
Dazzling
monarch - meaning boss
Aurora - ancient Roman goddess of dawn

So if you've got an opinion about what I could make my name, or leave it, let me hear it. I'm really looking for some suggestions and ideas to help get the juices flowing.

Going to Vegas

So I'm headed to Vegas on Monday. I'm going for a business trip so it's not as exciting as it sounds. I'll be back home on Thursday.

Sadly, I'm sad that I won't be able to play online for 3 days. I've become so dependant on this freakin game, it's all I do when I'm not at work.

Just wanted to let everyone know that you'll be missed when I'm not playing and talking to you over the next few days.

Joining A Clan

Ok so I think I want to join a clan, but I'm not sure which one is the right one for me. I still don't understand a lot of this stuff so please be patient with me while I figure it all out.

I've gotten some pretty helpful advice from a friend so far, but looking for just a little more. I want to find a Gears of War clan.  I'm not the best player, but I like the conversation and the fun.

So far I've been told that Art of War would be a good clan for me, but it appears that they're full. I know a small amount about Old Man Mafia, but I've been told that's mostly Halo 2, which I don't really play.

So anyone who has some helpful advise let me know.

New to the site...

Ok so I just signed up on the site a few days ago. I've been playing with a lot of the 2old2play guys for a few weeks now. I guess first I just wanted to say thank you to all the people who have been so accepting and nice to me. It has made this experience much more enjoyable. So to those of you who have helped me out and been so kind thank you...you know who you are.

Now what are these member points all about? I'm not one to have a 0 next to my name. So I have to know how to get some member points.
