New CoD3 content

I'm downloading "Champs" a new 167.96mb multiplayer map free download for Call of Duty 3. It's a fast download - mines already done! If you own CoD3 or 360 go download this if you haven't already. I'm going to check it out...

Old Bones map & videogame history

After finding my new favorite map, Raven Down, my expectations were high for the second of the new GoW multiplayer map. Old Bones is a much larger size map that has a sniper, boomshot and frags on the map with each team starting opposite sides. It's a good map, great detail, fair enough layout... but not my favorite.

Overall, I am happy with these two new maps and most of the changes made with the recent patch.

I'll leave you with a picture of an historic event in gaming history...

Okay just finished on map

I joined a room that was first to 18 at Raven Down, my new favorite map.

Raven Down is the smallest of all the multiplayer maps and you pretty much start right in front of each other, and besides a set of grenades I don't think there are any weapons laying around on the map, so that makes it pretty unique compared to the other locations I like how fast paced this map is and quite balanced... now I'm curious how the other map is...

I'm going to take a break for a bit and then check out the other new map.

Weighing in at 98.62mb - Gears of War Multiplayer map is already almost half done downloading. I'm going to check out these new maps and I'll post another entry after I get done checking them out.

Rainbow Six Vegas

I've been really enjoying the latest Rainbow Six on 360. The single player is excellent, the ability to play through the campaign co-op with 2,3 & 4 players using xbox live is a perfect way to spend some time with a few buddies, and earn points towards your P.E.C. and collect a couple of achievements in the process. The adversary modes provide great team based (and some solo) gameplay on xbox live (I'm currently playing Team Sharpshooter mostly) with a good variety of game types - which should keep my interest level high for an extended period of time.

After the last R6 (Lockdown) I was a bit skeptical of how good this game would actually be - I'm happy to report that this game gets back to it's roots, in fact the Montreal team that made the classic Rainbow Six 3 is at the helm of Vegas. I would suggest that Ubi continue tapping Montreal's talent for all future Rainbow Six games. Only a few minor issues that hopefully the upcoming patch will fix: help load your live vision face to other players systems and also fix the leaderboards! This title is damn near perfect IMHO, and worth the purchase.

Right now I'm going to check out the forums and hopefully find some 2old2play soldiers ready for to fight the good fight. See you online!

Dragons Lair (1983)

"Dragons Lair was one of the first laserdisc video games, released June 1983 by Cinematronics. It featured polished Disney-like animation created by former Disney animator Don Bluth, for the first time allowing players to control a fully realized character, as opposed to a pixel-based sprite, which at the time were comparatively limited in the amount of detail they could sport.

The games enormous contrast with other arcade games of the time created a sensation when it appeared, and was played so heavily that many machines often broke due to the strain of overuse. It was also arguably the most successful game on this medium and is aggressively sought after by collectors."

WoW Guild Assaults Rivals Funeral
Even though I dont play Worlds of Warcraft, I thought I would share this seven-minute video made by a WoW alliance guild "Serenity Now" documenting their attack on a rival guild.

The guild that was assaulted were together paying respects to the avatar of a guild member that had recently died of a stroke. If you havent already seen the video you can view it here .

I think they are quite obnoxious and seem to be a bit more organized than the timmies in Halo 2. This video raises a couple of questions; Would you retaliate if you were assaulted by another guild/clan? or would you even participate in a virtual funeral? What are your thoughts on this?

Make You Happy Tonight
For my first blog entry I wanted to share with everyone this Aussie comedy group, Tripod, performing the hilarious "Gonna Make You Happy Tonight". I can relate to the humor and I am willing to bet a few of us 2old2play will also.
